I called for an estimate to finish off the fence in our backyard -- a small job, but still a job. I spoke with the receptionist who took all of my information, including my cell phone number and email and general job description. I was told I would receive an estimate based on the job description and then someone would call to schedule a site visit to firm up the estimate. I have received absolutely no contact from this company at all. Very disappointing as I had heard good things about them. Eventually we will be replacing the entire fence in our backyard -- this job could have belonged to Expert Fence had they given us a chance on this initial job.

They arrived the same day that I called to measure and determine the type of fencing that would match our existing fence. Estimate was provided on same day. I approved the proposal and work was completed within a weeks time. The workers were professional, friendly, thorough and conscientious. The finished product looks fantastic and the price was nearly $1000.00 less than 2 other companies I called for estimates. However; price was not the reason we choose this company. The other 2 "big name" companies we called seemed very disinterested in doing this "small" job (even the company who did all of the original fencing around our 7 acre property). From the 1st call I made to Expert Fence their team worked together to ensure that I was never left to feel that my small job was less important than any other. I am a property manager (for a nationwide company) and I have no problem referring Expert Fence to other property managers in our company for the fencing needs at their properties. CALL THEM!

I had a short period of time in which to replace my fence or risk fines from the city of Alexandria. Many companies I called weren't interested in such a small job, or couldn't do it within the time frame. I was desperate by the time I called Expert Fence. They were very friendly and willing to do the job. They quickly and easily replaced the damaged fence with no fuss. It was a relief to get it taken care of.

They installed the fence to my specific specifications. They completed the work while I wasn't home, and when I came home and saw a problem, I emailed them pictures and they came out and fixed again while I wasn't home. Very responsive, and very considerate of my need to be at work, not at home while they were working.

They did an outstanding job! It was well worth the price! The quality of the work was fantastic!

My experience with them was good. They did a good job of installing. They did it in a timely manner. Once I called them, they got right back to me and came right out to give me an estimate. I would recommend them and use the again in the future.

It looks like they did a really good job. They showed up when they said they would. They were done in the same time they said it would take. Their pricing was fair.

Excellent work, great price. We called several fence contractors & no one could beat their price on clear grade cedar. The foreman was great, even helped us deal with the lousy tree removal company we hired separately to clear the fence line. They were flexible and very helpful, did quality work, and did it when they said they would do it, always very professional. Salesman/scheduler stayed in touch during the job & followed up at the end. Would have been a bit off-putting that the estimator/scheduler we had been dealing with never came out during the job if the foreman & crew had been less than exceptional, but wasn't a problem and is probably normal. Only completely positive experience we have had with a contractor or repair company since moving to Northern VA in 2005. Definitely recommend.

Received estimate for scope of work and specifications after meeting with estimator. Submitted down payment of 425.00 dollars. Had retaining wall completed as agreed prior to installation. I received a message on my home phone that the fence would be install on Saturday on Friday night when I got in from work. On Saturday morning a crew of two showed up to begin installation. The Foreman said he was not sure about were the fence was to go, so I showed him. His English was broken, so communication was not very easy for me. After four hours they were packing up to leave when I noticed that the section of fence with the gate was not what I had been told would be installed. When I ask he said that he did not know this and added another post to existing section and not a separate section that I had paid for according to the contract. The other side of the house had a section of chain link secured with wire to the post and looked horrible. Then they sent out a subcontractor.

They were less expensive than Long Fence. They did a quality job at a reasonable rate. They were prompt and charged what they said they were going to charge. I will call them again for fencing needs.

The fence company was prompt and efficient. They did a great job installing the new posts and fence and it looks beautiful. They were very neat and did not disturb the rest of my yard.

The woman who answered the phone told me to look at the website first, because the reps do not carry photos of fence type, which I thought odd for a salesperson. I was looking for someone to give advice, as to the best fence for my yard. She wanted to know the measurements and seem perplexed, that I didn't know them. I thought that was something the salesperson would determine. Finally, she asked where the property is and when I said Ashburn, she was very hesitant and told me they didn't like to work that far away, that should be stated on their website. I got the distinct feeling they couldn't be bothered.

Expert Fence initially told us they could obtain the permit and start the works within two weeks of contract signature. Because our sales representative went on vacations, we had to do quite a bit of follow-up to make sure and at a point it looked as if they would not be able to comply with their schedule. However, they finally took the matter seriously and were able to schedule and execute on short notice. We are very satisfied with the fence (cedar) which was build from scratch. The whole project took only one day and the team was nice. They did some cleaning after completing the fence, and managed to safeguard most of the plants we had next to the fence's location.

We were looking for guidance on fencing styles based on our needs, so an in-person meeting is what we needed. We declined to work with Expert Fence in this fashion and opted to meet with Carter Fencing and Walpole, both whom were professional and able to meet within days of my initial call.

Expert Fence performed high quality work, used good quality wood, and did a great job of cleaning up. I was a little disappointed that they didn't really communicate with me once they had a signed contract. I had to do a bit of follow up to finalize the work date, which they switched on me without notification. I would still recommend them. Just be sure to make your timing expectations clear upfront.

Was a PERFECT experience, and Expert Fence has renewed my faith in contractors! I have nothing but positive things to say. Unlike 3 other fence contractors, only Expert Fence showed-up to give an estimate exactly when they said they would. I did, eventually, end up getting 3 estimates, and went with Expert Fence mainly because the other 2 companies' representatives weren't nearly as patient discussing options & offering suggestions. Joe from Expert Fence took the time to share ideas in both fence layout & fence design which I'm so glad he thought of. The project was started when promised; I worked from home that day and was utterly impressed with the conscientiousness of the crew. I felt comfortable leaving my house unlocked even when I left for work days 2 & 3, so they could use the bathroom. Both the workmanship of the fence and the workers' overall attention to detail made for an overall great experience. They treated my garden and yard as I do. Quality and service were both A+.

PROMPT, POLITE, EFFICIENT, FAIR PRICE. DID NOT REPOSITION HEAVY CORNERSTONE AS THEY HAD FOUND IT, AND I CONCEDED, BUT DISAGREED.
