Computer Geeks - VA

Called a couple of places to describe the problem and it was possible that the hard drive could be going. Decided to go with Ryan based on reviews, the convenience of him making a house call and that he could do an initial assessment within a day or two. Ryan responded immediately to my initial email and then followed up with a phone call to discuss the problems we were having. We were able to have him come out in the next couple of days and he showed up right on time. While he was running some initial tests on the first computer, he took the time to look at a printer issue with a second PC. He determined that it was likely not a hard drive issue but that the operating system would need to be re-installed. He had it back in just a couple of days with all of the important files reloaded (documents, pictures, iTunes, etc). He also provided some info on some helpful freeware. All of this for just the $75 service call fee and we never had to leave the house. Ryan is knowledgeable, punctual, professional and helpful. We were perfectly comfortable having him in our house and working on our PC's. He will definitely be our first call for any future PC issues - and we'll be passing his name on to anyone looking for PC help.

I can't possibly imagine any better service than we receiver from Ryan. After I explained our situation, he responded quickly and with, I must say, compassion. It's clear we were faced with a bad virus infection. Ryan approached this step by step at our home, but eventually had to take our computer to his place to get rid of the virus. He said that he could get it back to us by noon the next day, but it is obvious that he quickly went to work, fixed it and had it back in a few hours that evening in perfect order. He then updated our security for us, and took care of a couple of other bothersome things. Ryan clearly enjoys his work, does it incredibly well, and at a great price!!

Ryan was punctual, professional, and very knowledgeable. He walked us through the problem and solution so that we would understand what was going on. Helped us to purchase needed software to protect our computer again viruses in the future. He was excellent--- must better service than Geek Squad or other big name brands.

Ryan Hitzroth WAS THOROUGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND ARRIVED PROMPTLY AS SCHEDULED. AFTER ASCERTAINING WHAT PROBLEMS I WAS EXPERIENCING HE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO WORK. HE CAREFULLY EXPLAINED WHAT HE WAS DOING AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. HE DELETED THE MALWARE AND INSTALLED ANTI-MALWARE PROTECTION. I WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED , WILL USE RYAN'S SERVICES AGAIN AND GLADLY RECOMMEND HIM TO MY FRIENDS.

This was by no means my first experience with Computer Geeks-VA. Well into my eighth decade, I have had many service providers over the years--home improvement, home repair, computer services, etc.ad infinitum. I can say without reservation that Ryan Hitzeroth is the finest I've ever had, bar none. There are no "windows"--no waiting for hours. if Ryan is going to deviate 15 minutes from the appointed time, he phones to let me know. And his charges are very reasonable--especially in light of the fine work he does. I can't recommend Ryan highly enough, although I've tried.

Extremely professional, responsive an polite. He came to our home on a Sunday afternoon to take care of our problem in time for our children to start school. I will call Ryan again when computer problems arise.

The netbook was returned on Aug. 28 with a new hard drive with Windows XP on it. He install antivirus software on the machine.

This is my second review for Ryan Hitzeroth who continues to be a courteous and professional who arrived on time on August 18,2013 and immediately accessed my laptop to diagnose the issues. He quickly determined that the slow response to commands and heat emitted from the laptop required him to take the laptop apart. He advised me that a system upgrade from 32bit to 64 would be possible if he could repair the laptop. Mr. Hitzeroth telephoned me, on Monday, and informed me that I needed a new hard drive and at the cost of $60. I confirmed that I wanted the hard drive and would appreciated the 64 bit upgrade too. On August 22, 2013, Mr. Hitzeroth telephoned me to deliver the laptop to my home once commuter traffic decreased. I asked him to come on Saturday and he agreed. Mr. Hitzeroth arrived at his appointed time and set up the laptop that has 64 bit windows home premium, Internet Explorer 10 and no longer emits a buzzing noise when turned on. He set up a back up folder for me to ensure I have all of my files although he reinstalled the majority. I recommend ComputerGeeks-VA - Mr. Hitzeroth provides professional and dependable service with updates to ensure you know the progress and participate in the decisions associated with his work.

This was the second time I had Ryan come to my house. During his previous visit, he was able to resuscitate my 5 year old laptop but recommended that the next time I had problems, I should buy a new computer. Well, my computer died, and I was concerned about salvaging all my files and photos. I called Ryan and when I asked, he recommended several options of what I could buy and where I could buy it. I followed his advice and am thrilled with my purchases. Ryan came to my house, was able to remove my hard drive and transfer all my files and photos to my new laptop. He also asked me if I wanted him to download other useful software on the new computer which I agreed to do. In addition, he helped me become more familiar with the new version of Windows on my new laptop and recommended that I purchase Windows 7 for Dummies. Ryan is a wealth of information and sound advice but he is neither arrogant nor adamant. Be sure to ask him questions. No question is stupid with Ryan. He is very gracious and very helpful and makes you feel very comfortable asking him questions. I declined a technical support package at the store where I purchased my new computer because I have Ryan and he comes to my house! He answers his phone, schedules an appointment within a short time period, is extremely competent and professional, and his charges are very reasonable. I am very glad that I found him on Angie's List.

Having your computer die is stressful when you're not sure how to replace/fix it, but Ryan made it so easy! He was extremely helpful, very efficient, and an expert at computer diagnosis and repair. I feel lucky to have found him on Angie's List, and I will definitely call him again in the future when I have any computer issues. Best Buy would have charged 4 times what Ryan charged, and probably still would not have given me the information I needed to make a decision. I thoroughly recommend Ryan and Computer Geeks!!

Ryan was exceedingly knowledgeable, professional and personable. He arrived on time, listened to the problem, did some field testing and explained what needed to be repaired. He brought the computer back the next day with all repairs corrected. He took the time to explain what he did and steps to be taken to prevent a reoccurrence. Ryan promptly returned my email and we scheduled an appointment on Sunday afternoon. He arrived on time and picked up my PC. Ryan called me the next day and said that my PC was fixed. On Monday evening, he returned my PC in great condition and was working fine in order for me to backup my needed files as this was an old PC. His labor and part costs was very reasonable. Ryan promptly returned my call. We confirmed what Iwanted and scheduled an appointment. He arrived on time and after testing my PC and discussing alternatives we made a decision.. I gave him a deposit for the parts. Based on our schedule we arrived at a good date for completion. Ryan returned my PC in great condition and working fine. He then helped me install and setup the new router. The total cost included all parts ( He provided all packaging and contents), repair and setup. His labor cost was very reasonable. It was a pleasure dealing with Ryan and Computer Geeks - Virginia.

This was my first experience with Computer Geeks-VA, and it was excellent. I called Ryan on Sunday, and he arrived 3 hours later. He would have come in 2 hours but was willing to accommodate to my schedule. He painstakingly worked on my computer for almost an hour. He ultimately took my computer home and said he would return it about 6pm on Tuesday. He offered and I accepted a loaner notebook during this period. He returned as promised with a newly loaded operating system and while at my house for another 45 minutes or so he installed a Tenda mini external wireless USB adapter and additional memory and I was good to go. He also gave me advice on how to increase the life of my laptop. A few months later, the external adapter seemed to malfunction I called Ryan and left a message. He returned the call in less than an hour. He told me that he loaded the software for the Tenda adapter in a temp file on my computer, and he patiently explained how to access it, despite my inability to quickly follow his instructions. He told me to reload the software and if that didn't work, I should call him back. It worked and I have been in good shape ever since. Ryan is a seasoned professional who is not in the business to make a killing financially. Rather it is clear that he really enjoys the challenge and the satisfaction of fixing problems. He is extremely knowledgeable, responsive, honest, conscientious, patient and resourceful. He charges much less than most of the other companies on Angie's List. I would certainly use him again and highly recommend Computer Geeks-VA to anyone who has a computer or network problem and needs someone honest and skillful to fix it as quickly as possible and at a highly reasonable price.

Ryan came to my house and looked at the computer and discussed the problems I was having. He took the computer with him and returned it the next day.

Ryan checked out the computer but had to take it with him to work on it. He was kind enough to leave a loaner and said the computer would be ready by Tuesday (he came on Saturday afternoon). He called on Sunday afternoon and said it was ready, and even added some memory! Brought it back Monday afternoon. Prompt, very reasonable price, professional interaction. I would recommend him to anyone with a wonky laptop.

I contacted Computer Geeks via email. I briefly described the issue and asked if it was reparable and what such repairs would cost. I received an email response in short order that showed me they knew what needed to be done, had done such repairs before, and knew the approximate cost. I brought the laptop over to them, they took the monitor apart to get the part number and then put it back together so that I could continue to use the computer with it attached to an external monitor while we waited for the part. They ordered the part before I even left. I was able to conveniently pay for the part through PayPal. Once the part arrived, I brought the laptop back over to them. They removed the old monitor/screen and installed the new one while I waited. They even removed all dust and fingerprints from the entire laptop before I left. I then conveniently paid for the labor via PayPal. The final price was only $3 different from the original estimate. All in all, it was a great experience. They fixed an issue that I wasn't even sure could be fixed and did so at a reasonable price. I have already referred them to a friend and will refer them again.

Ryan arrived on time to repair my laptop. He took about an hour to finish the job. I had an error message on start up that he noticed and corrected. I no longer get the error message. He worked efficiently and quietly. The problems with the keyboard were fixed with the installation of the replacement. I found Ryan competent and professional. He is now my go to guy for computer repairs. I used to do my own repairs.

Randy did more than I would have dreamed of asking any computer professional to do on a 10 year old computer. New RAM memory and new primary drive. Barely charged for parts. Incredible value. I now have a second computer to use as back up and alternate when someone else in the household is using the newer computer. There is a great story. Randy was extremely professional, prompt with his services, and overwhelmingly reasonable with cost for services. Could not have gotten better value anywhere!
