Dan was excellent!! Before patching the respective holes, he ensured the new water lines were not dripping, added insulation to prevent the new water lines from freezing in the winter, and then replaced the drywall. He used an anti-fungal tape, so no mold will grow under the mudding or into the drywall,and then proceeded to mud the area with a higher quality mud that doesn't create dust when you sanid it for painting. Dan explained each step of the process and why the work needed to be done in this order. I was very impressed with his knowledge and the care he took while doing the work -- he completely cleaned up everything when he was done to the point you couldn't tell he'd been working here. It was a pleasure to work with Dan and I will definitely hire him again. His craftsmanship and attention to detail was excellent. I am very happy with the results. I highly recommend Dan, I found him to be fair and upfront with me and very knowledgeable about his work, also a great personality.

My experience with Dan was very good - he was courteous and professional. Recent changes to the Angie's List website prevented him from receiving my messages, but once I called him directly he was very responsive. He provided a rough cost estimate of the work I described - replacement of my kitchen faucet, including removing the old faucet and installing the new one (which I had already purchased). We worked together to determine the time the work would be performed. He showed up on time, and performed the expected work within the estimated timeframe. He went on to describe some of the details behind the old and new faucets, and made sure I was fully satisfied before cleaning up and finishing. The price was affordable.

Pretty well. Dan the Man came over, gave me the estimate and had his guys there an hour later. The doors were painted and installed properly. At the end, there was an issue with the dryer door not being able to be opened with the laundry doors open. Dan got on it and fixed the issue. I think my wife will be satisfied with the job.

Because I had already paid to have this done once before and was left high and dry by the previous contractor I was a little hesitant, however, the owner Dan was quick to put my mind at ease. He put 2 guys on the job they work promptly from 8a-6p everyday for 4 days with Dan stopping by each dat to check progress and address any concerns I had. I like the fact that it was the same 2 people working on my house the entire time. I also like that they did not use paint sprayer, the draped everything (including carpet), moved furniture, etc... They removed light switch panels, closet shelves, stair hand rails, I mean they did a really good job and it is under warranty which I also love. I cannot speak highly enough about the work done here. If i were not selling my house I would definitely use Dan The Man Services in the future, but I am recommending he to quite a few people.

Overall performance: Excellent! I was very pleased with the work Dan and his crew performed on my house. They were; punctual, professional, courteous, and they were meticulous in performing every aspect of the job. Their attention to detail was impressive and that gave me confidence that I was getting the quality of work that I paid for and that I expected. Dan and his team didn't waste time, they worked approximately 10 hours per day to get the job done. They didn't cut corners and they did exactly what they said they would do. When they painted, everything received two coats of paint..... When I asked questions, I received straight answers....When I pointed to something extra I wanted done, they did it. In summary, Dan is a professional and he either met or exceeded all of my expectations. The best endorsement I can give is this: I will not hesitate to use him again to do other work at my house. He is the real deal!

It was excellent! Dan and his team have an amazing attention to detail that kind of blew my mind. He noticed things that I had overlooked throughout our home. Like in regards to the porch ceiling, I had only noticed the one long, wide crack. But he pointed out how the entire ceiling was cracking at many of the drywall seams -- because as he showed to me and explained that the original drywall work was probably affixed to the ceiling with nails, as opposed to screws (which are more secure). The screened-in porch's ceiling had also been painted with an interior paint, not an exterior paint befitting a room exposed to the elements. That's not good, as mold began developing in some areas. Sometimes it gets wet outside, right? So the repair to the porch ceiling entailed using screws to affix the drywall to the ceiling, finishing the repairs, and painting the entire ceiling. It now looks great. We had a noticeable, long vertical drywall separation in our master bedroom. I hadn't paid attention to why, but it was clearly (after Dan pointed it out) an old door frame that led to an adjacent bathroom! The door was removed at some point, but its ghost remained. That wall was repaired and repainted brilliantly by Dan's guys. We had renovated a room in our basement to an office in the summer of 2015. The work done was nowhere near adequate, as all of the drywall seams began separating! And the finish of the ceiling was rough and ugly. We clearly saved some $$, but you get what you pay for. Dan's team did an amazing to repair and repaint the entire room. I love it again! Those were the big items that were really in our face, and Dan was the friggin' man identifying and coordinating the work with two of his incredible, hard-working guys. They knocked it out of the park. I half-hesitated writing this review lest he get so busy he's no longer have time for us. But he and his group of guys deserve it. They will be my go-to Handyman team from now on.

Dan came in and assessed the two areas of interest. He quickly went over the details and how he and his team would fix the issues. The workers did exactly what Dan quoted and completed everything in the time quoted. The work was professionally done and I am extremely satisfied.

Dan was fantastic! He responded right away, worked it out for my schedule and gave me a great minimum price to come and do what I needed. He was friendly, professional and did great work . he was also very generous with advise on how to do some things properly myself. I would definitely use him again!

Dan came to my house to review the job and then returned with the dry wall guy who did a great job of fixing the walls. They were clean and I also asked them to give me a quote on doing some other work for me as well.

Dan was very responsive, he contacted me the same day I ordered the service. He came over to see what the job entailed, he offered a very competitive price for an additional 5 hours to do all the work I was looking to get done for a total of 8 hours. I originally was only going to have one remodeled closet finished but with the additional 5 hours I was able to get 2 closets and another room completed. I was then able to schedule his guy (Orlando) to come by the next Monday (it was Friday). They arrived at 10 to 8AM right on time and all I heard all day was the shich shich of his drywall knife both fixing my inept attempt and completing the room and closets. I was extremely pleased with the work and will definitely hire Dan and his team again.

Dan Matei (aka Dan the Man) is great. He and his worker Orlando worked for the 1 1/2 hours contracted through Angie's List and then stayed an extra 1 1/4 to complete the job, for an additional cost we negotiated, all for a very reasonable price. The work was done superbly and quickly without wasted time. They were very clean and careful to spread drop-cloths and cover everything with plastic. He cares about customer satisfaction and was very easy to deal with from start to finish. I highly recommend Dan!

The three of them worked in our home for 7.5 hours straight, they were courteous and friendly, and the total cost of the service included over $200 in supplies (e.g., paint). We're very pleased with the results!

I am extremely impressed with Dan The Man Services! Dan Matei and his team were professional and courteous throughout the project. This was a moderate project that included painting the walls and ceiling (plus drywall repair) in our living room, family room and kitchen. From the beginning, he was able to provide an on-site estimate the same day as my inquiry, which was very thorough and fair. His crew arrived on time each day and was very conscientious and meticulous in their preparation and work. Dan came to the site each day to check in and make sure everything was progressing to my satisfaction. Dan responded quickly to all of my phone calls and texts. The end result is outstanding! I will definitely be using Dan The Man again for future projects and highly recommend him to other Angie's List members.

Everything went well. Dan recommended staining the shed with my color choice rather than painting as it would last longer. He and his workers arrived as scheduled and carefully prepped and painted. I am very satisfied with the result. They did an excellent job.

Dan not only did a great job, he's a great guy. Reason we called Dan the Man Services LLC: In order to repair a leaking pipe, a 2 ft x 1 ft hole was made by a plumber in a closet ceiling. And to repair the drywall after the plumbing job I was instructed to phone another dept of the same company to do the work but it would cost almost twice what I paid for the plumbing job. Folks, we're talking about a patch of ceiling, in a closet, in a basement. So after a few quotes for this never to be seen tiny job we decided to take a chance on a handyman rather than with a dedicated drywall company. Besides, we needed to find a new general handyman as ours of many years retired and this would be a good test. Holy mackerel, DAN IS A TREASURE. And super reasonably. I don't even want to let anyone know and keep him to ourselves. He is very professional, and very experienced with many different aspects of construction. Next time we'll use him for a plumbing job or electrical job or painting job too because after Dan was finished the ceiling it was smooth as glass. He is very neat and except for the terrific work you wouldn't know that a repair job happened because everything around was clean. Not only is Dan very skilled, he is very personable too. This was an exceptionally good experience.

I met with Dan, very nice gentleman and price was great. But he recommended a solution that was not in compliance with Virginia Residential Building Code. We needed to have out bathroom vents vented to the exterior. Dan recomended that we tie them into the dryer vent. This recommendation is not in compliance with M1502.2 which states "dryer exhaust systems shall be independent of all other systems...." Dan is a great guy and I'm sure he does terrific work. We penciled in a date on his scheduled and he said he was going to get back to me to finalize. I never heard from him. I did follow up next day to express concern with the code, and I never heard back from him.

Dan's crew did an excellent job. Dan provided the estimate himself and made me feel very comfortable with the work that would be performed. His crew showed up on time and carefully covered my furniture and floors. They spent a whole day repairing damage to the drywall and prepping the rooms for paint. The entire job was completed in 3 days. The day after they finished painting, I noticed a couple spots that needed some touch up. When I notified Dan, he came by the same day to examine the areas that needed to be touched up and he scheduled a time for his crew to return and finish the work. I couldn't be more pleased with the job.

Dan was extremely responsive, punctual, friendly, and professional. At the same time I was working with a flooring company to replace my damaged wood floor. This required that Dan stage his work to ensure certain tasks were completed before they arrived and to return post-floor installation to complete work. Repairs behind and to the custom-made bookcase were tricky and Dan was up-front about managing expectations. He did a terrific job and I am discussing potential future projects with him.

Dan was incredibly friendly and answered the phone directly the first time I called him. He came over the very next day to assess the work that needed to be done and provided 2 separate (as requested) estimates within 48 hours. Upon approval, Dan scheduled and followed-through with completion of the work exactly as requested, and exactly in the timeframe stated. Outstanding. Dan was very informative of everything he was doing and gave me the why behind what he was doing. I tried to do this myself and completely messed it up. Dan reattached all the trim and installed the door to make it look new. There was some patching that I needed to do as far as where the nails were hammered on the trim. But he told me what to get and how to do it to make it look great. He did not have that material with him which is why it wasnt done but he does great work and I would hire him again and do recommend him. He was right on time for the job and very quick and precise with his work and very personable as well.
