A-1 Garage Door

Contacted A-1 garage door for repair of Wayne Dalton torsion spring. Specifically asked for repair and not conversion to torsion bar. Was told this wouldn't be a problem. Left work early to be home to greet technician who shows up on time to tell me they can't do repair, only conversion. No response from A-1 when I reached out to them again via Angieslist. Very frustrating and disappointing experience.

They showed up around the time, called ahead to confirm appointment and there timing, went straight to work, and programmed two remotes for us in less than 30 minutes

They came out quickly and repaired it for less than half of what Sears charged us for the other door 6 months prior. I would recommend them highly!

They correctly identified the cause of the problem, unlike another company that wanted to replace the door at six times the price. The did the job and the door has never worked better. There was some delay because they did not get a part delivered at the promised time.

They came for the estimate as scheduled, did the work as scheduled, and everything works fine.

Installer came out prior to job to measure. Never told us garage had to be cleared out. When he arrived for the install, he had major attitude because inoperative vehicle was in the garage. We managed to remove the vehicle and some other items so that the installation could begin. Only one person came to install a double garage door. Very surly, borderline rude. When asked to change the frequency of the receptor because we noticed interference from neighbors remotes, he said "what are you going to do for me" (????). (Scam Alert)....He then insisted we must need a new automatic lifter because that is not normal. Needless to say, we didn't fall for it. Bottom line...Garage door is great, great price, however the downside was an unprofessional installer.

The people e at A-1 were very knowledgeable, professional, and customer centric. I needed a new garage door and they gave me a good price and the installation was excellent. The technician arrived when scheduled and did an outstanding job. The door and the mechanism continue to operate with no issues whatsoever.

Great communications with the front office during the initial phase, the doors were ordered and came in much sooner that I had expected, and we scheduled installation for early the following week. The installer showed up at about 07:30 this morning (the schedule was between 7 & 9) and set up his work station. I said goodbye to him shortly after noon with both doors installed, trimmed and the openers hooked back up and tested. There was a bit of alignment and fine tuning of the spring on one door, but it was handled well. The installer was a great guy and really knew how to do the job. I Learned quite a bit and he was happy to explain why something was being done and/or what it did. Highly recommend. The only down side is now the surrounding trim looks bad and I have to get some paint.

Wonderfully! A-1 was as good as your reviews said they were! Came same day. Was professional, polite and personable. Repairs were affordable and bought us some time before we have to replace the full garage door. No push to spend more than I needed to and my garage door has never worked better! I will definitely use them again for both repair and replacement!

There were no issues. He came by, measured the doors and left catalogs with different styles and colors. We called with what we wanted, the doors were ordered and installed a few weeks later.

Went well. Very professional. Came back to A-1 since they were very prompt the first time I had them come out in September 2016.

As expected no issue everything went well.

Mechanic fixed all these issues and also ran standard maintenance (e.g., replacing rollers) in a very short time and at a quite modest price.

Service man was on time and gave detailed information on state of garage door and garage door opener. Demonstrated how to operate keypad in detail

From the initial online appointment, the initial visit to troubleshoot, thru installing the new unit. It's been one of the most pleasant experiences I've had recently! Thank you A1 Garage Door and Charles for his professionalism and showing me all about the unit and how to take care of the door/unit in the future. The unit works great, looks great and was better than I expected. The cost was good. All done with a 4 day window.

Same day service, showed up on time and in the time window they said they would. The company performed the work quickly, was very professional and did not try to upsell to do additional work. Very good experience. Would ire again if needed in the future.

After failing to repair my door on the first trip, A-1 quickly returned and corrected the problem on their second visit.

He replaced both springs which had clearly broken, and serviced the rest of the components. Very nice guy, and the garage door works like new, awesome job.

Called at 8am and got service by 1:15pm. Showed up within the 2 hour window provided and called 30 minutes ahead so I could leave work to meet him. Got the job completed in an hour and was very nice. I would totally use them again.

I liked the company. Nice, punctual and professional. Only reason they did not get an A, is because we have had to repair or re-tune 3 different times.

A-1 is the only garage door company you’ll need to call. This was my third experience with them, and it’s their third home run with me. Three hours before hosting a party for 40 graduating high schoolers, I backed into my double garage door, which was auto-closing just as I was backing in. I thought the door was a total loss, and was hanging dangerously from one cable on one side and two rollers on the other, and badly dented. I called A-1 in a panic, and Abi had Charles on his way in minutes – from Virginia to Maryland in Friday rush hour!! I expected him to tell me the door was a loss, and then help me order/replace the one I destroyed. Was I ever wrong. He went right to work, and in about an hour my door was back on track – literally – the dents barely visible, and quieter and smoother than it had been all year. He’s the magic man when it comes to garage doors, and both he and Abi are as pleasant, polite and professional as could be. Their prices are very reasonable, their responsiveness is unmatched, and their results are superb. Like I said – HOME RUN!

Charles arrived on time to give me an estimate for installation of a new opener. The price was great and he did not try to sell me anything extra. As he had time to install it right then, we moved forward. He worked efficiently to mount the opener, and tightened/adjusted the existing rails, springs etc. The new wiring is neatly done. A very professional job! He even helped me to set up the HomeLink connection with my car. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
