Description of Work: Fixed two doors - the gentlemen who did the work was both kind and very professional which was greatly appreciated!

Description of Work: repaired a short in my garage door opener. The service person did a good job.

Description of Work: I am not quite sure of the dates. I selected this company from an Angie's List promotion. The first person the company sent around stayed about 5 mins and said he was done. He only had a generic spray bottle with clear liquid. He didn't have a ladder or any tools to service the garage door opener. I called the company and spoke with an owner (?) who apologized for the non-service and promised to send another tech and said there would be no charge. Another person arrived a couple of days later and did the service described on their web site. The refund was never received. The owner was very gracious when we spoke but I will never use this company and I would never recommend it. |FWIW: I will NEVER prepay for anything in Angie's List. Their policy is that they apparently do not "go to bat" for the customer and I was told the issue was between me and the vendor.

Description of Work: They were supposed to service the garage door and the garage door opener and replace all the wheels on the door track. |The man arrived on time but said the garage door wheels did not need replacing. I told him of our problem with the door often stopping part way up or down. He sprayed the wheels with a lubricant, adjusted a button on the door opener and left within 10 minutes. The problem still was not fixed so A-1 sent him back again a few days later. The problem still is not fixed. I would not use the company again.

Description of Work: Excellent. Showed up on time. Friendly service, worked quickly, cleaned up thoroughly. Doors look terrific.

Description of Work: Our dog chewed thru the wires on our garage doors so they would not close. A-1 was out the same day & fixed the problem. We were very pleased and will now use them should any other repairs become necessary.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal to get my garage door tuned up.

Description of Work: They refused to honor the face value of the angies certificate i bought. That increased the cost by $80. But they did a good job and promptly. Replaced both broken springs for the door.

Description of Work: Very good and fast service, however originally the technician seemed to be unsure what service I ordered. I told him I had the tune up because I had been gone for a couple of years from the house. He quickly went to work oiling, adjusting and changing the rollers. | |While this was going on I got a call on my cell from the main office who stated I was not supposed to get the rollers with the service I ordered. I explained I did not ask for them and how the encounter happened. Before I could even say anything else the person on the phone thanked me and hung up. | |The technician told me he was done he stood by while I checked his work then he thanked me and departed. | |All in all a great job, I expected to get an argument because of the rollers but did not. |

Description of Work: The Service Man wanted to oil the hinges on the garage door---and nothing else. The Offer from Angie's List said other key work was to be done: lubricating ALL moving parts, not just the door; balancing the door; tightening the hinges and making minor adjustments, and a 21-point safety inspection. When I showed the Service Man the Agnie's BIG DEAL advertisement, he said all he could do was oil the garage door. I asked him to tighten the hinges, as I knew they were loose, and the Service Man then asked for an additional $20 to do this task! I did call the Home Office of A-1 Garage and talked with the Manager/Abi, and she simply read the "Fine Print" off the Angie's advertisement to me. I acknowledged "The Fine Print" and asked her to now read "This Offer Includes" section, and we went over that material together. She then said she'd call the Service Man and tell him to do the needed additional work. I then asked to terminate this repair visit, sine the Service Man already told me that all he can do is lubricated the hinges on the garage door.

Description of Work: Wire snapped that goes to sensor for garage door so door stopped operating. | |Arrived on time and was done within an hour. | |Have used twice and wouldn't hesitate to call again.

Description of Work: We needed a new door and A-1 was one of two companies to provide us with a quote. I called them in the morning and they were able to come out quickly and provide me with a quote. We decided to move forward with A-1 because they price was lower than the other quote and they had good ratings. The technician was there the next morning, right on time, and had the old door removed and a new door installed in a matter of a few hours. They were great to work with and I would recommend them to anyone needed a new garage door or repairs. Punctual, great price, and great work.
