They were the first to respond to Angie’s List inquiry. With in 2 minutes of my message, they called me with a price to replace both overhead springs. Said they would come out tomorrow between 6 am and 8 am but would call first. Called today at 6:30 am. Here at 6:50 am completed repair at 7:15 am. 7:30 am the other garage door company called. Gave me a ball park estimate higher than A-1 quote.

He came on time to check and told me not because of the bent place, but only need some turning up. I trust him and will watch the door

Tech arrived well within the window, but did not have the parts to perform the repair and required another visit. Working with the scheduling person was difficult as English was not her first language.

As soon as the repair man came through the door, he started selling. Claimed repair services are not covered by vouchers purchased on Angie's list, even though i showed him I purchased $100 off repair voucher. Wanted to charge $170 for reattaching 4 screws, so I sent him away. I do not mind paying premium when I get good service. In this case - i got baited and all they wanted was sell more and that's just plain unethical. My first bad experience on Angies list. Buyer beware!

The main spring on our garage door broke. Cables became a tangled mess and the door was solidly locked in place. We called A-1 at 10:00a.m. Service Technician Charles was at our home about three hours later. He assessed the situation, made the necessary repairs and checked the condition of an adjacent garage door. He was courteous, punctual and professional.

They came out within a few days to replace with a temporary spring - evidently mine needed to be ordered (it is unclear if this is standard procedure). Just when I thought I might have fallen off the map, they called to schedule the replacement with the proper springs. Technician was punctual, professional and worked quickly.

Perfect! I was given a two hour time window and the installer showed up first thing and was finished in less than two hours. Explained everything and showed me the operations of all components. Very impressed with the company!

Everything went perfectly. Charles came out when scheduled to review our needs and we narrowed down our choices to a few models. I then communicated back and forth with Abby until we had made a decision to buy the Amarr Classica door. We really liked the 3 panel design even though it was a bit more than we wanted to spend. I ordered the door and it arrived within the time frame promised. We then scheduled the install which Charles and one other person completed in about a half-day. The door looks and works great!
