Noticed the problem Friday evening when we had no hot water. Inspected the hot water heater and found the tank leaking water onto the gas burner assembly. Called Dave Passey Plumbing on Saturday morning, and they had a plumber at our house about an hour later. Replace the hot water heater and a faulty pressure relief tank. Hauled off the old water heater. No mess, no fuss. Great service considering they were actually closed for the day.

I was able to get same day service which was awesome! My drain was backing up and I had to work that day. My son was home and he told me that the employee, Jose, showed up as promised on time, he was very professional and did a great job. It is so refreshing to have a plumbing company come in, do the job well and not charge an insane amount of money. This company has cleaned this drain out before and I was just as pleased. I will call Dave Passey plumbing every time!

I called Passey Plumbing Monday and booked an appointment for Wednesday. Tuesday night, Dave called to confirm the job and get more details so he knew specifics of the job. Wednesday morning, Cliff called and said he was on his way, asking for additional details, as the job was a bit tricky to describe (high-rise condo, hard and soft water systems, etc.). I texted him a photo of the three valves to be replaced. He showed up ten minutes later with a bag of parts and was done in under an hour. After a recent plumbing experience with another provider, I was expecting a bill ten times more than what he charged me. I wanted to hug him. Dave Passey Plumbing does solid work, the price is excellent, and the plumbers are pros. I would recommend Dave and his crew over the bigger, flashier, more-advertising guys any day of the week.

Arrived promptly, was formed of the situation, got to work with his power auger. The only bad thing (the reason they did not get straight "A"s), is that his power auger did not work, so he had to work it by hand. He worked his butt off, and found approximately twentty-five to thirty feet of grease, grime, and yuck, clogging the pipe! He then put the pipes backe together, including a clean-out trap, making it easy to clean regularly. Very nice, proffesional and competent.

Shoot! I forgot to mention the 10% off for Angie's List members! Nevertheless, Josh and Cliff were great. Arrived right on time and performed excellent work--double-checking with me to make sure the repairs were perfect. Mr. Passey himself called a few nights beforehand to make sure they had all the details they needed to do the job right. I'll certainly use Passey Plumbing & Heating again--and I'll be sure to recommend the business to family and friends, too! Thanks.

There is a 30 day warranty. He suggested using bleach every few weeks with a warm water rinse as prevention. He gave me a 10% Angie's List discount. I would use Dave Passey Plumbing, Inc. in the future.
Description of Work: My kitchen sink drain was clogged. I tried bleach, baking soda/vinegar and liquid plumber and the drain was still clogged. Based on Angie's List recommendations, I called Dave Passey at 10 am on a Saturday. Their man came within an hour. He used an electric snake to clear the drain. He moved it back and forth to remove and flush the clog. It was draining fine when he left. He also cleaned out a bathroom sink that was draining slow. Hair had clogged the drain stopper. He showed me how to clean it.

Once again, we had plumbing trouble at the worst time: sub-freezing temperature, night, close to Christmas, clogged drain, water spilled into the basement, apparently the back-up was further out than where we could reach it with our tools at home. Jose of Passey Plumbing and Heating came early the next morning?problem wasn?t so bad after all, unclogged the drain efficiently and economically, cheerfully even, and we were on our way to a happy holiday season.

Very pleased with Cliff and Jose from Dave Passey Plumbing. We walked into our basement bathroom to find a quarter inch of water on the floor streaming from the base of the toilet. We quickly called Dave Passey Plumbing after researching them on Angie's List. They sent Cliff to give us a no fee check of our home plumbing system and Jose to inspect the sewer line. Jose unclogged the main sewer line (thank God it wasn't a break) and blew out our very old, slow to drain basement tub. Cliff spent thirty minutes walking me around and in the house explaining my system and where things are. I will use them again if I have any plumbing issues.

I called Dave Passey and he had someone out in less than 60 minutes. Mind you it's Saturday and no one that I called prior to calling Dave could commit to having someone out prior to Monday. In addition to that, Dave's pricing is also in-line if not better than his competition - especially for a Saturday when most people are off. Jose, the plumber, is one of the nicest plumbers I've ever come across. He arrived within the 60 minute window that we were given and did an amazing job. He was also very professional and yet very friendly. Dave, I hope you have more people like him in your company. Dave and Jose, thank you both for providing us with the quality service. Rest assured, you're the only ones we'll ever call for our plumbing needs going forward. Thank you!
Description of Work: Our sink with the garbage disposal had a water stoppage issue which prevented us from being able to cook anything at home. There was also a small leak in the plumbing under the sink.

I was calling one morning early before any place was even open yet. I had been for 3 days with no hot water to a new home I moved into. Questar wouldn't come out. I called several places, and nobody would answer or take the job. Then I was fortunate to call Dave Passey, an hour before the place even opens he picked up the call. He said he'd get someone out later in the morning...and I was relieved. Well, a nice gentleman named Cliff, came about an hour later, walked out to the meter and released the tie on the main for the gas to get to the home. He then made sure the water heater started heating, and did his paperwork while he waited to make sure it stayed on and wouldn't burn out. He was so fast and efficient, that I was only an hour late for work, and the whole thing was taken care of. Thank you Cliff, and THANK YOU Dave Passey, you saved my little life ;)

We have used this provided 2 or 3 times before and were happy with their work. We had a leak in the stop and waste for our sprinkler. It was leaking into basement window. I told them I thought it was it because it didn't stop when the main water was shut off. They spent an hour or so trying to see what the problem was and then tell me they think it is the stop and waste. We had some landscaping that we wanted to keep so I transplanted a small pine tree and a few flowers. I then call back to say I was ready for them to come back and get started. The area of the landscape was just to get to the place to dig it wasn't part of the big hole. it was quite a deep hole and the weather was on and off raining. there were 2 guys working on this. One guy left to do something else and the other guy was complaining to my husband about digging the hole. They repaired the pipe and said they need to get gravel to put at the bottom of the hole and would be back the next day. we had some gravel so we offered it to them so the job could get done but they said it wasn't enough. They came back the next day and filled in the hole. Then they filled in the area they knew I was going to put my landscape back in. they mixed my gravel and mud together and packed it down hard. It turned like cement. one of the guys even said to my husband "you are going to have fun digging that up." we had a pile of good top soil I was going to put back there. it took me hours to sift through the rock and hard packed dirt to replant my tree. It was too hard to replant any of the flowers. I was going to send this review earlier but got busy and forgot. I had a reminder this spring when I went to do my yard work. more gravel has come up and it is impossible to get it all out without digging a giant hole. I'm 60 and have bad knee so it is really extra hard for me and my husband also has a condition that he has lost his strength to dig. The small pine is starting to die I believe because of the poor soil. I will never use this company again.

Poorly. Continual friction and conflict with the owner Dave. He continually tried to convince me that "he would not do" what I wanted, without technical reasons for his statements. The rough ins were not in the locations I desired. When I offered to pay again to put them where I wanted, admitting partial responsibility, Dave resisted. Later hired another plumber to fix his work. Found out after re-breaking concrete that he filled our floor with only two inches of cement instead of the standard four, meaning likely cracks in tile in the future had we not redone his work. Lastly, when planning for water heater replacement he claimed our desired routing of vent / air supply lines through the roof was not possible nor supported, until I downloaded the specifications and manuals myself and pointed out the specific pages in the documents that said not only was our desired routing *possible*, it is actually *preferred.* on the plus side, he communicates well and if his work was acceptable (it's not) his price seemed fair. When you start to refer to your plumber with your family and friends as "Mr. Grumpypants" it's probably not a positive overall sign :).

We had another plumber from this list come to our home and refused to do anything until a disaster recovery service came took care of our "mold". I purchased a spray bottle filled with "mold armor" and removed all visible signs of mold in the affected area within a few minutes. That's all there was. Dave Passey's crew came in and found where the leak was and had a crew on it within a couple of days (this happened Saturday afternoon and they aren't on duty Sunday). We cut a strip out of our downstairs carpet and they spent most of the next day jack hammering out a trench to inspect and/or remove the faulty pipeline. Our poor pipe had totally corroded out the bottom of the cast iron to the point that the pipe no longer delivered water to the sewer from our kitchen. Dave Passey's crew removed the pipe, replaced it with ABS, and repaired the concrete within one working day. They also did a credible job of cleaning up behind themselves so that the area didn't look like a complete disaster. We figured with the number of people working on the project (five at one point), the use of a camera to inspect the pipe, etc. that the bill would be substantially higher. We were very pleasantly surprised by the final tally.
Description of Work: We had a cast iron drain pipe under our basement floor that had corroded to the point that it leaked and could no longer carry water. Dave Passey's crew jack hammered about 40 feet of pipe out from underneath the floor of our previously finished basement and replaced it with ABS and replaced the concrete all within one day.

The plumber was conscientious about doing quality work. He had to work through a couple big clogs in the line. When he came inside to work in a carpeted area he used different shoes and was careful to clean up after himself. He was very polite and gave helpful suggestions for how to keep our drains clear for longer periods of time.

Dave came out a second time to reevaluate other possibilities. Again, he was professional and knowledgable and did a lot to problem solve along with me.
Description of Work: Provider came out to evaluate possibility of installing a stationary generator. He was so much more knowledgable than the other 2 contractors that came by and was extremely honest and down to earth. He called me later to suggest that I consider something that wouldn't use his services noting that the generator position made work very costly (as confirmed by the other contractors.) Dave is honest, thorough, and technically very good. I would use him in a heartbeat.

We had a clogged kitchen sink that was overflowing to the dishwasher and nearby bathroom sink. I called the company about 7 am and spoke to a responsive, kind man who told me they would get on it and I would hear from someone soon with a plumber arrival time. By about 10 am I still hadn't heard from anyone (and with a newborn baby had resorted to washing bottles in the tub!) so I called again, got no answer and I left a voice mail. At that point I decided to start calling other companies, found one who could be there in 30 minutes so I went with them. Around 11 am I finally got a call back from Dave Passey Plumbing and the girl asked "Has anyone called you or showed up yet?". I said, "No, I've got another company on their way, never mind". I chose this company because of their good rating on Angie's List. Disappointing.

I've used Dave Passey for 2-3 years, occasionally for work on my home, and I use them on a very regular basis at my place of work. Both experiences have left a lot to be desired. First off, at one of my stores a few weeks ago, we had a minor sink back up & the man that came out finished the job really quickly, then came out and started talking to myself and a few of my employees. He saw our Drano, & told us that he charges 3x more when he finds out someone uses Drano. We all laughed, assuming he was trying to be funny, but then he said that he really will because he always gets burned by it and went off about how horrible it is. Gloves, maybe? Kind of unprofessional. Shortly after the work incident, I had them out to install a water softener at my home. Dave bid it at $1700 for the unit and all of the plumbing to install it, which he said requires quite a bit of labor as he walked around the basement looking at the water lines. I had several other small things that he didn't give me an estimate for, but we discussed what I needed to have done. One of these little repairs was for a toilet that would leak when flushed, and had a broken handle. The technician showed up, and discovered my house was 100% plumbed and ready for soft water already (which somehow wasn't noticed before??). So, he said that they'd complete all of the other additional work, which would now be included in the $1700. I wasn't sure whether that was even a good deal or not, as they were minor repairs, but I went with it. Within the following day, the leaky toilet that had supposedly been fixed was now leaking at a fast & steady pace, whether it was being flushed or not. I finally found the time in my own schedule to contact the company about it, explained the problem, and scheduled another service call. The office lady called me the morning of the appointment to ask me again what work I needed done. She then told me she had no record of them doing this work, and they only guarantee what is on their invoice. She told me that 'A lot of people try to get free work out of us' and that isn't 'necessaaaarily' what I'm doing here, but that she has no documentation of any of this. She said they guarantee all work, but only when they have a record of it. So, basically his lack of documentation means that it's not their problem? She was so, so incredibly condescending and rude, and implied that I'm being dishonest to get free work. I even mentioned that I do A LOT of business with them, and I'd really appreciate being taken care of, to which she literally replied "I don't care". I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to, and she said No, so I asked her to have someone call me. Later, the owner called and asked me what the problem was, and he offered to set up a service call. I politely declined the offer a couple of times and told him I'd rather not continue my business with them, which seemed to agitate him. He then went on a rant about how he wants to take care of his customers (in a fairly irritated voice, of all things) and that he listened to my entire conversation with his office woman - according to him she was never rude, never raised her voice, and never made accusations, etc. He told me that everyone makes mistakes and has bad days. I thanked him for his follow up and for taking the time to call me, but told him again that I didn't want to work with his company and am not interested in scheduling the appointment. The conversation ended on a very bizarre note, with him telling me that I need to "cool down for the next day and think about things", that people say stupid things and make bad decisions when they're upset, and that this is a lesson that "he learned as a young man." What a lame, pretentious, and condescending way to treat a customer. Thanks for the advice, Dave, but I've had a day to think on things, and I am still very disappointed by the lack of guest service, correct documentation, and work performed by your company. Something I learned as a young woman is to treat people kindly, the customer is always right, and the customer is what makes a business succeed.
Description of Work: They installed a water softener, kitchen faucet, repaired the outdoor water faucet, and a minor leak on a toilet.
