 + -1 moreI have used this company before and I have like them every time that I have used them. They are punctual and fast. There was even a mat laid down outside, so that they could keep my house clean. One guy did all of the work by himself and did an outstanding job. He was courteous and professional at all times.
Description of Work: Whipple installed a 50 gallon hot water heater for me and also removed the old unit.

 + -1 moreMark found a replacement tank for a reasonable price, so I did not have to replace the entire toilet. He was efficient and cleaned up after himself. He also thought of giving the lid to the manager, so it could be used by someone else.

 + -1 moreMark is very smart and was willing to spend the time with me to figure out the problem. He saved me the cost and headaches of a major construction job with a tube of caulking. I cannot thank him enough.
Description of Work: Mark Whipple came to give me a bid on ripping out my entire shower to replace a leaky shower pan. I already had bids from $5,000 to $8,000 to do the work. However, by spending a little diagnostic time, he was able to simply caulk a ruffled shower pan membrane. This completely fixed the problem, and 2 months later we have no leaks. He was fantastic.

 + 1 moreWhipple had given me an eta of between 10am and 2pm, promising a call 1/2 hour before arrival. They called me at 9am and asked if he could arrive early, to which I agreed. He arrived promptly, examined the old water heater and made his recommendations, which included the water softener system and I agreed. He went immediately to work. He was clean, pleasant to have in my home as he worked, and I am very happy. He was worried about tracking dirt and mud across my white tile floors, but I assured him that with all the snow and ice outside, that it was perfectly normal and Id expected that to happen. He even offered to mop the floors for me when he was finished! I now have more hot water than ever before with a more efficient appliance and no worries about my 20 year old heater springing a leak and flooding my basement!
Description of Work: Joe Musick single handedly removed the old water heater, replacing it with a new larger one having to deal with basement and outside steps. He also installed, from scratch, a water softener along with the required new water lines in the house.

 + -1 moreThe plumber did an outstanding job. He was thorough, clean, and prompt. When we called initially, we were told by a secretary that he didnt work in our area, but we called back and spoke with him directly, and he came up the following day. Id recommend him in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: My wife and I had a leaking shower pan in our master bath. We had a few plumbers evaluate the problem, with estimates ranging from several hundred to over five thousand dollars to fix.

 + -1 moreTroy was an excellent representative for Whipple. He clearly knew what he was talking about and very up front about what we needed and what we didn't need. While Whipple is not the least expensive company they were worth every penny. They were responsive, on time, efficient and stood behind their work and products 100%. Salt Lake isn't quite big enough to have the competition one would find in other cities so finding a company that treats their customers as if they could lose them at any moment to another company is very refreshing.
Description of Work: Whipple installed central A/C in one unit. Sinks, faucets and toilets in three units and maintenance service on four different places.

 + 0 moreWork seems to be performed well- however ridiculously/extremely overpriced. Was desperate for service at the time, if we could take it back we definitely would! Home Depot could have easily performed the same work for less than half of the price! Will never use this company again- based on excessive charges for work performed.

 + -1 moreI called Greg Whipple (owner) and explained that I was happy to pay for the emergency call. The plumber had not been asked to perform any service, and if he had, the charge was extremely unreasonable. Basically, Whipple mocked me. I called again and got a similar response. Finally, I filed a small-claims suit against Whipple. The next thing I knew, Greg Whipple called me and said, ''We have a check for you here.'' He sure did not want to go to court! It is a shame that I had to go to that extent to resolve a dispute that was the result of a (in my opinion) fraudulent bill from Whipple in the first place. I would beware of dealing with these people. Thanks to Angie's List for giving me the opportunity to tell this story to others.
Description of Work: I had a burst sprinkler line in my yard that caused a mudslide. I recieved an emergency call, and not knowing the extent of the problem, I called Whipple. They said an emergency service was $85, and I agreed. When I got to the house, city emegency crews were there and had shut off the water. Whipple showed up within the hour, as asked. The water valve was already turned off. I dealt with the emergency crews and when I got to the Whipple plumber, he said, ''I capped the line,'' and presented me with a bill for $350. I never asked for that to be done and all he did was screw a small cap worth probably less that a buck onto a pipe sticking out of the ground, to which the water had been shut off. I protested but paid the bill, planning to call Whipple and straighten out the situation.

 + -1 moreThese guys are so excellent and clean. They even wear shoe covers. We are so pleased with the results. We have hired them before for our upstairs air conditioner and our furnace as well and have always been satisfied.
Description of Work: The air conditioner would not work so they had to take a big part out and take it to the shop. Then, they had to soak it to unclog it. They had to weld and cut it. Also, the filter has to be changed once a month.

 + 1 moreI AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK WHIPPLES DID THEY GUARENTEED EVERYTHING. WHEN THE BATHTUB WAS LEAKING THEY CAME RIGHT OUT AND FIXED IT. I CALLED THEM BACK BECAUSE IT WAS STILL LEAKING AFTER THEY LEFT. THEY CAME RIGHT BACK OUT AND REDID IT AT NO EXTRA CHarge.
Description of Work: REPAIRED THE CLOG IN THE DRAIN AND FIXED A TOILET THAT WAS LEAKING AROUND THE EDGES. ALSO FIXED A LEAK IN THE BATHTUB.
