DO. NOT. JOIN. THE. CHAMPIONS. CLUB. After spending thousands to get hookups installed for laundry and doing some other projects, they talked me into joining their Champions Club that had several "free" maintenance visits per year. After one of these visits, when I refused some of their suggested repairs, they sent an insulting email asking "What's holding you back?" I guess the initial thousands of dollars I had spent wasn't enough, and now they're treating me like someone who is having financial problems. I replied to their email to let them know that it was offensive, but nobody ever responded. If you try to cancel and leave the Champions Club before the year is over, you have to pay for any of the free services you used. Another "benefit" of the Champions Club is their priority scheduling, saying they will bump you to the front of the line, in front of other non-members. But if you don't read the fine print, this only applies to repairs, and not to any of the maintenance services. When I tried to get the free AC Tune-Up done before summer, they said they couldn't see me until the end of September. I waited until the end of September in my home without air conditioning until the day of my appointment finally arrived. They said they would be there between the hours of 1pm and 6pm. I got a text at 5:30pm saying they needed to reschedule because their technician had something come up. This was the first communication I got from them that day. Needless to say, they lost a customer. And I am counting down the days until I can safely cancel my Champions Club membership without any penalty so that it doesn't renew for another year. My advice, choose any other HVAC company, but read through the reviews first.

I would give zero stars for dishonesty, but one is the minimum. Before you call Whipple, please read this. I had Whipple technician Justin Anglesey come to inspect my AC unit. I informed dispatch that my AC wasn’t cooling and suspected a bad capacitor. Justin inspected the unit and told my wife the compressor was shot, along with multiple other issues in both the AC unit and furnace. He recommended a complete HVAC system replacement. In his work description, Justin claimed the compressor had bad readings on two legs and wasn’t kicking on, and that the contactor and capacitor were also bad. However, I know that for a proper inspection, the thermostat needs to be on, which he never checked or asked my wife to turn on. This raised a red flag. Here’s how the system operates: • Capacitor: Crucial for starting the compressor and fan motor. If the capacitor is bad, the compressor may not start. • Contactor: Supplies power to the compressor and fan. If the contactor is bad, even a good capacitor won’t start the compressor. • Furnace: A bad control board or blown fuse would prevent the furnace from operating, regardless of whether the AC unit turns on. When I got home, I replaced the capacitor and filter myself, turned on the thermostat, and the AC started cooling immediately. The house went from 85 to 72 degrees without any issues, proving that Justin’s diagnosis was wrong. He claimed the control board and circuit were bad with a blown fuse, but that was also false, as the furnace and AC worked fine after the capacitor replacement. I called Whipple to cancel the unnecessary system replacement appointment Justin set up and requested a callback to discuss his dishonesty. Despite a history of issues with Justin, he continues to represent Whipple. I’m considering filing a complaint with the Utah Division of Professional Licensing. It’s unacceptable to suggest a $15-20k system replacement when a $31 part fixed the issue. Whipple needs to address this dishonesty before more customers are misled.

They resolved my problem after a year of dealing with other HVAC companies. We had intermittent room temperature air blowing after a newly installed unit in 2020 by Superior. They could never fix it or figure it out. I called Whipple. They came out on July 21, 2023. Within 1 hour Derek Whipple found the problem which was a wiring issue which was done improperly. We finally have a smooth running AC unit!

I got called and rescheduled in 4x and then when the guy came out he was only liscenced to do the AC tune up, I thought no big deal just a bit annoyed. The gentle man was nice and helpful, and did the job fine until he went up to my attic and while coming down our stairs after finishing, falls on our stairs and puts a large hole in my wall. He stated he did not see the damages when I pointed it out to him and that a supervisor will come out later to review things with me. The supervisor came out and says they will provide me a credit, and I ask him about what if we don’t want to do anything with you? I don’t get clear answer and am now having to fight to get my wall fixed.

They came and rebuilt my bathtub faucet for over 700$ then within 2 weeks it was leaking again, they came back because it was supposed to be under warranty. It wasn't and they want another 900$! Terrible service and price. Find another plumbing service

Was quoted price to replace motor and capacitor it was $889, This is after a $150 discount and 15% off parts. I shopped there price with other service providers and got quotes for the same work. The average of three other quotes was $325 less than Whipple. Had a new furnace install a year ago and afterwards I check their price $5000+ against two other companies and found out Whipple was almost $2000 higher. I will not use them again.

It was a Sunday and the water heater started to leak. I called Whipple Plumbing and Heating and they said they would visit that day because they considered it an emergency. They verified that it was under warranty and they replaced it free of charge the same day. I was amazed.

One of the Whipple representatives called and told me that Lee would be arriving in 45 minutes and, right on schedule, Lee arrived at my front door withing the 45 minutes. He proceeded to tell me what he would do and we did it. He is personable and professional. I enjoyed speaking with him about plumbing and other fun topics. I love the Whipple team - at least the team members who have provided service for me.

Both Chance and Todd checked all electrical aspects and found no problems. This required almost two hours, but they confirmed no hazard in our home but believed the odor was from refineries augmented by SLC inversion. My wife and I are handicapped and so appreciated the concerned, professional manner of these two gentlemen. They had been at our home before for other needs, and they were just as helpful then. As I mentioned to them, I was so glad I use Whipple as they are not "just a plumper" or not "just an electrician.". The rapid, unscheduled response by Todd was amazing and so reassuring, I strongly, strongly recommend Whipple. Royce M.

It went very well. Robert not only flushed the water heater, but corrected some problems resulting from poor workmanship by those who installed the water heater three years ago. He also found a failed water pressure regulator in the main line and replaced it, and replaced our badly leaking bathtub faucet. He evaluated the situation, informed me of my options, and proceeded to take care of the entire job in one afternoon. He was a good example of all that Whipple Service Champions advertisers its technicians to be. I was very satisfied.

I was not told that there is an extra charge for any work done after 5pm. Had I known that, I would not have had them bother to come out. The after hours charge to replace a kitchen faucet was around $850 and the regular hours charge was around $250. The after hours charge is a joke and it was only 5:30 pm. Needless to say, I had to fork over a $69 service charge and they did nothing for me. Very disappointed in this bait and switch tactic!!!

I have had several amazing interactions with Whipple Service Champions over the summer. My HVAC system was not keeping my home cool during the hot summer days (temp inside would reach 85+). I called for an estimate with Whipple and was able to interact with Jason (HVAC sales manager) who did a very thorough job explaining how HVAC systems and equipment operate and the options I had. I also inquired about a new water heater and was given a range of options and education on their features. Jason helped make my experience with the estimate a positive one. Ultimately I ended up selecting Whipple to replace my HVAC and water heater systems. The first item to be replaced was my water heater. Heath Givens and Logan (didn't get last name) were very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous throughout the day. They made sure I understood how the equipment operated and what I could expect from my new tankless system. I was very impressed by the level of detail and pride they took in their work. They represented the qualities I feel Whipple is looking to present to every customer and left me very appreciative of the work completed. The next day I had my furnace and AC replaced. The three technicians working on that project (Justin, Todd, and an electrician whose name I can't recall) worked feverishly to get everything installed. They also exemplified the qualities Whipple stands for and were just as amazing as the previous associates with whom I had the pleasure of interacting. They were extremely helpful in educating me and ensuring I was comfortable with my new system. There was one problem resulting from the install that didn't present itself for about 18 hours. The day following my HVAC install, everything stopped working about 2 or 3 PM. I contacted Whipple and explained my problem and they were able to send someone out later that evening. Rick O**** responded to the call and arrived at my house around 8:30 PM. He was very kind, sociable, knowledgeable and concerned about my comfort. He apologized on numerous occasions for the inconvenience and got to work on the problem. He was able to immediately identify a blown fuse as the culprit. He attempted to ascertain the cause of the blown fuse, but ultimately couldn't identify the problem and replaced the fuse. He said if the fuse blew again they would find the cause and fix it. He was very professional and made sure everything was in working order before he left my home. Unfortunately, about 1.5 hours later, around 11:30 PM, the fuse blew again. I called Whipple and got their after hours service line. I explained the situation and advised the agent I wanted to have someone fix it as soon as possible and asked if they'd let the on call tech know so they could call me for details and have someone from the office call me first thing in the morning. I didn't receive a call back that night. The next morning I called about 6:00 AM and got the after hours line again. I explained my situation and asked that someone call me as soon as the office opened. I was impatient and called the office at about 07:15 AM. They were able to get a technician to my house within an hour or so. Tevita F****** was the technician who came and saved the day. I had a meeting downtown and asked if he could be done by 9:30 or so. He said he wasn't sure if that would be possible because he had to do some testing to figure out the cause of the blown fuse, but would try. He worked very hard to figure it out. As he was tracing the lines run from the internal unit to the outside of my home, he happened upon (by luck he said), the problem. The wires had been snagged when running the lines outside and continued to short. He fixed it very quickly and was out in time for me to make it to work. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. I really appreciated his effort in solving my problem. Rick had attempted to locate the source of the short the night before, but it was dark when he arrived at my home and the lines outside weren't too visible, even with a flashlight. I also want to recognize the professional, courteous, and helpful phone support staff in the office. Each individual I reached was so nice and concerned about my needs. My only concern now is whether there is something else I need to for my system. I have the temperature set at 74 constantly, but there have been a number of days in the later afternoon when it gets up to 77 and is a little warmer than I'd like. I'm waiting to see if it's a matter of cleaning my ducts and the system acclimating to my home before considering it a bigger issue. Overall I had a wonderful experience with Whipple and feel they are an amazing company. Thank you for taking my comfort level all the way to the top!

Problem with the hole location on the counter required a changing in the intended replacement unit. This cause some delay while your tech went to get a different faucet. The hole place in the granite top was to closed to the back plate wall. Error made during the installer of the granite top.
