Plumbing Plus

Initial Review: They did a good job. The interaction went well. I talked to them over the phone and they gave me a bid and they didn't go over the bid. They did the work well. They could have been cheaper. Update: Well, as these things go, you often find out later the quality of the work. We have since had issues with our water pressure, including a leak that flooded a room in our basement. A different plumber helped us and determined that the work Plumbing Plus did wasn't very good. Lastly, we learned that the plumbing for the new water heater was not according to code. It is very frustrating to find out later that work done by a service provider like this wasn't done right.

Plumbing Plus is a small company and provided that personal touch that I've never experienced with another plumbing company. Paul seemed to truly care that the problem was fixed correctly and at the best price possible. I doubt that I'll use any other plumber from now on.

Paul arrived with a technician on time, and in fact called before they arrived to make sure it was a good time for them to come and to make sure I was home. We talked about the issue that I had with another plumbing service that told me my sewer line pipes were "bellied" and I would need to dig up and replace the line (which goes under the foundation of the house). He asked if I would like a copy of the inspection of the sewer line for reference, so if I needed to get bids to replace or repair the line I could show the contractors the video. I told him that was a good idea so they got a video tape out and the camera and took the camera through my entire sewer line, recording the images. My sewer line is not "bellied" there were some roots out where the line from the house connects to the city main line. So he sent out a technician the next day to clear the roots from the line. Paul and his team were very professional, trustworthy and I would recommend them highly.

I first called Plumbing Plus because a close friend had recommended them and I had just suffered a major ripoff from Budget Plumbing (about whom I am writing a separate review). The owner of Plumbing Plus, (Paul) was immediately calming, and came to my house to discuss the situation in lay terms, suggesting that the work needed might be less extensive than Budget Plumbing's proposal, which was around $6,000. The next day, Plumbing Plus ran a camera and made a tape of their findings, which Paul analyzed, saying the necessary work would "cost in the hundreds rather than the thousands". The work took two days. My problems of gurgling and backups have completely stopped. And although I have yet to receive the final bill, I believe it will be under $1,000, as my experience with Paul is that he is a good and honest businessman. By calling Plumbing Plus I saved as much as $5,000, because Paul sought the middle, conservative path toward solution, which I believe also demonstrates his high level of experience and knowledge and his full intent was to serve me, the customer. I would highly recommend Plumbing Plus to anyone needing plumbing repair, but especially to women such as myself who live alone and who don't have a clue of the ins and outs of plumbing.

We called on a Saturday, and if we didn't need the toilet to be ordered, he would have come that day. Eric showed up right on time on Monday and worked fast and extremely professionally.He even apologized because the wall profile of the new toilet was different from the old, so we would have to re-paint! They promised that if this model did not meet our expectations, they would replace it with a different one! Eric left the bathroom immaculate.I plan to use them again for some other jobs in the near future. I recommend them to anyone who wants a fast and professional job.

I finally tracked the sounds of running water in my walls to a badly leaking water main, and to fit with a busy schedule, and the oncoming winter, I needed it replaced quickly. I got two bids and Paul at Plumbing Plus came out slightly lower. In addition to the reasonable bid, I chose Paul because the "boring" device he uses for water main replacement seemed less intrusive in regard to the size of the holes that needed to be made in my basement and lawn, as well as the fact that my water would be off only for a very short time. When Paul arrived to begin the job we had some concerns in regard to where the new shut-off valve would be, and Paul listened carefully and came up with an agreeable solution. Paul completed the work in about a day and a half and everything went very smoothly. I was at work when the transfer from the old main to the new one occurred, so I did not even experience a time without water. As noted in several other reports, Paul is extremely friendly, conscientious and knowledgeable. There have been absolutely no problems since the job, and my water bill has returned to its normal level.

This was my first time selecting and using someone through Angies list. When I called the owner answered the telephone. He was busy with a big job but told me that he could probably get to it, I think in two days - if I could wait that long. We set up a tentative appointment. I called that morning and he wasn't able to come then, but set up a time for Erick to come. Erick arrived on time and was very professional, friendly, did the work quickly, and was respectful of our home. While he was working, the owner stopped in just to meet me. Paul was also very friendly and I liked it that he took the time to stop by. He said that he wanted to be "our plumber" for the future, not just for today and that he hoped that we liked their work. I actually called him to replace a broken water heater yesterday and he was able to do it the same day! (I'll submit a report about that service once I receive the bill).

It took two days for the major work, and about a week to get all the concrete reset and the clean-up concluded. It went as well as can be expected, and Paul did a good job throughout the project of keeping me informed of what was happening and what still needed to be done. Nice job done by all the guys, and it's actually hard to tell where the new concrete was poured and the grass was replaced.

Water was leaking down the wall of our basement. We thought there may be a leaking pipe in a wall upstairs. They responded that day and found the leak right away. It was in the basement ceiling area and they repaired it very quickly and was much less cost and time than we had anticipated. We would be happy to refer this company to anyone.

Simply outstanding and very willing to go out of his way to ensure that I was satisfied.

I have used Plumbing Plus for jobs since my hot water heater blew up years ago. That was New's Year's Day and I didn't know what to do. I got gas at my neighborhood garage and asked my mechanic if he knew a good plumber. He suggested Paul Schaaf who sent a crew and new hot water heater over and had it installed that day. I spent this summer restoring a bathroom in my old house. Paul talked to me about how to upgrade the plumbing while keeping with my desires to "restore" rather than "remodel." He even gave me names of companies to get the claw-feet legs of my 90-year-old bathtub re-plated. Our media market here is saturated by TV, radio and print advertisements for plumbers. Plumbing Plus doesn't advertise. They rely on word-of-mouth referrals. That allows them to do high quality work for a more reasonable price. I am consistently impressed with their desire and efforts to make things the way I want them, even if they need to make adjustments or changes. I have always been completely satisfied with their work.

Plumbing Plus once again responded with same day I called service. Did a great job! They are the best!

They arrived on time, ran into a problem, fixed the problem, did the repair work on the drain system (which required new parts) and installed a new faucet. Afterwards the plumber cleaned up the mess before leaving..

It was great. I didn't get a bill for a long time; called them and they were behind on billing but soon after got a bill. They gave me the coupon discount from Angie's list which amounted to a savings of 34.72. Did not charge me for one hour travel. They went to two different locations. They were punctual and professional. Total cost was 231.50 minus discount. Three hours total labor @ 89.00 an hour for 1st half hour; 95 an hour for 1.50 hours.

I was in a rush to get an old swamp cooler replaced. Paul came out promptly and gave me a bid. It was in line with most I'd gotten.The lowest was a couple of hundred lower but they couldn't come right away. so I said go ahead to Plumbing Plus. They were able to replace it the next day.

Called made the appointment, the service man was very professional, completed the job in a timely manner, sent a bill in the mail, amazing.

I've worked with this company before and have always been extremely pleased. Quality and careful work is done on time. Job site is cleaned up before employees depart. I trust them and will use them for plumbing work whenever possible.

Excellent. Serviceman was exactly on time, pleasant, and fixed the problem. In addition, he repaired the leaky stopper plug in the tub spout that sends the water to the shower head. I needed the invoice soon so I could provide to the city utilities (they sent letter requesting repair or the block charge for water usage would increase). I called Paul at Plumbing Plus and he HAND DELIVERED the invoice to the house the following day. I originally used their services in Sept '09 prior to buying a house. I had them run a camera down the sewer line to inspect it. Again the two-person team was on time and pleasant, and very fast. A few days later I got a call from the seller's agent that there was a minor problem with the toilet (the crew had to remove it to access the main sewer line). I called Paul to relay the message and asked him to call the agent. He did and then called several times after that to make sure the seller was satisfied. I was very impressed that he made sure everyone was satisfied, and he was the one to initiate the follow-up calls. Very impressive.

the job was scheduled with the office, the plumber came on time, completed the job in a professional manner, cleaned up and left.

The service and the work appears to have been done well, but I think the price for the work done and three hours work was excessive (I did not get a bid before work was performed). When you consider you can replace a water heater for $750.00 or, in my case, replace all of your indoor water pipes for $2,500 (which the sprinkler repair represents about one-sixth of the cost of the total water pipe replacement) is why I believe the cost for these repairs was too high, when put in this perspective. Parts charges also seemed too high. They are also costlier than other individuals I've used in the past.

This is our household plumber- they are excellent in their service, timely and responsive, hard working and go the extra mile, and their personnel are excellent and professional.

I called this company due to its high ratings on Angie's List. I was desperate for a company that would do an honest, competent job in a timely fashion, since I could hear water running somewhere in my system 24 hours a day. The owner, Paul, promptly returned my call, showed up on time at my house to assess the problem, gave me a reasonable range of the costs to fix the problem (depending on where the leak was found), and sent his crew out to fix the problem on the date I requested. The technicians were professional and personable, and the job came in at the lower end of Paul's estimate. It was a cold and windy day, and I had to admire the two men as they patiently hand-baled icy cold water from the excavation sight to get to the problem, never complaining about the conditions. I'd definitely recommend this company to my friends -- honest and competent plumbers are worth their weight in gold.

I called Plumbing Plus and asked about the availability of and prices on three toilets I'd narrowed my choices down to based on Consumer Reports' ratings. After researching it for me, Paul called me back a little later the same day with prices on all three, and told me about how long it would take to order two of them, while explaning that he had the third model in stock. Because they had one of the exact models I had specified in stock, and because he offered it to me at a surprisingly good price (not only compared to other local plumbing companies, but Plumbing Plus' price was even competitive with online plumbing fixture companies), I went with it, especially since it was my preferred brand (Kohler) of the two brands I was considering. At no time did Paul ask me to consider an alternative to the models I inquired about, based more on what they had ready access to rather than what I had already determined would best suit my needs, which I appreciated. Paul and Nick showed up promptly at the time we had agreed to and did an excellent job; they were very neat about their work, being very good about cleaning up after themselves, and were super-nice in the process, which was most welcome. Compared to other plumbers I've had in from other companies to do other jobs, about whose work I always found something disagreeable (either because of being charged a higher price than I thought appropriate or more than what we had initially agreed to, or a lack of professionalism regarding the work performed, or not cleaning up after themselves sufficiently/not doing as comprehensive a job as I expected), I have absolutely ZERO COMPLAINTS about the job performed by Plumbing Plus -- I can honestly say that having them in to do this work was a pleasure. I plan to contact Paul again whenever I have another plumbing job, and intend to recommend Plumbing Plus to my neighbors and friends in the area based on my very positive experience with them. I'm quite relieved and satisfied to have found a local plumbing company that I feel I can trust to do a good job for a very fair price!
