He answered his phone immediately. Asked me a few questions about the clogged shower drain. Gave me a few suggestions which I've done and the drain is flowing again. He gave me some great advice, for free. He did tell me I'd have to keep up with this maintenance for a little while to remove all the debris, but I'm willing to do this!!!

Nice enough guy but never followed through. We spent about 3 days going back and forth but nothing ever came of it. Seemed like he was both disorganized and doing too much work. Wasted my time. Quite annoying. Had to go elsewhere.

The service and cost were wonderful. Highly recommend. The person who installed the water heater was well informed and quickly finished the job.
Description of Work: They were wonderful to work with while replacing a bad water heater. They charged me under the estimate they gave me over the phone. They called prior to appointment to say they were on the way. They also did a few minor repairs in my home at no extra charge. I highly recommend Plumbing Plus.

I dealt with Paul the owner and one of his plumbers, Eric. Both of them were great to work with. They did not try to "find" additional work to fix. The price for all the work seemed very fair/reasonable (Eric spent an entire day working at my home). Also, they took the time to recommend what needed to be fixed immediately versus what could wait to be fixed. I did get an Angie's List discount and did not get charged extra for driving out to Park City. I definitely recommend Plumbing Plus, and I'll use them again if/when I need more professional plumbing help.
Description of Work: I found Plumbing Plus via Angie's List, and I arranged for them to do a lot of miscelleanous plumbing repairs to my recently purchased home. The home I purchased was a foreclosure, and it had sat vacant for 10 months. With the home sitting vacant and not being properly winterized (the house is in the Park City area), a lot of the plumbing fixtures were a mess. I had Plumbing Plus install a new kitchen sink faucet, which I purchased myself; replace 2 shower valves, which involved cutting drywall to access the valve; and fixed a few other leaky valves under sinks and around the water heaters.

I will definitely be calling Plumbing Plus for future plumbing issues.
Description of Work: I forgot to submit this review when I had my work completed, but this company deserves a really good rating. I have a very old home in which the plumbing is slowly deteriorating one piece at a time and the plumbing is all installed incorrectly for proper drainage. I have been fighting it for years. These guys came in and fixed my kitchen plumbing for me so that it would drain and I no longer have to worry about it backing up in my laundry room. They were quick and punctual. They were very pleasant to deal with, from the initial contact on the phone, through the labor performed and even afterwards when i called about my bill. Not a problem with the bill, just because I needed a replacement copy. They performed the work very satisfactorily and gave me an estimate to fix the remainder of my messed up drains. I will be having them come back soon to do more work for me.

Naturally my water heater gave up the ghost on a Sunday morning. I called the company and the owner came by a couple of hours later to see if a quick fix would work! I was amazed. He then said that the work would require a replacement part and that his colleague could stop by the next morning. He arrived right on time, finished the work very quickly, and when I asked him about my dripping tub faucet took care of that as well. I will certainly be calling them again.

Response from Plumbing Plus
I have just found this bad report from this client and reviewed the details. It does appear that the person we sent out to he house had to attempt the cleaning of this drain from inside. He did make a mess with his cable backing it out of the drain and did not use the cable guard as we had asked him to do which in turn caused this negitive report. We did NOT bill the client and according to my records we sent him a 200.00 reimbursement check to help off set the cleaning of the mess. We have since ban this drain cleaing from entering into our clients houses due to this issue in hopes to resolve any future troubles.

We were very happy with the prompt response we received after calling. Once we started moving we realized we would need more help and Plumbing Plus didn't hesitate to go to the new house and do more work there. We had someone ready to finish the job the next day. They were great to work with and we will be keeping their fridge magnet for any future jobs. And it was great to have the Angieslist discount.
Description of Work: We were moving and needed help with disconnecting appliances at the old house and reconnecting at the new place. Plumbing Plus helped us with all our short notice requests. In fact, we had a plumber within 24 hours of our call. They handled all the plumbing issues with the dishwasher, water softener, and even ran a gas line for the stove at the new house. We were very happy with their professionalism and willingness to get the job done quickly. Running the new gas line and reinstalling the water softener turned into pretty extensive jobs and they were great to work with us for setting up a payment schedule. We appreciated that we weren't dumped mid-job due to the extra days work. They finished what they started and were very consciousness of our time. All work was done professionally and with high quality. No bad surprises.

I had a leak in my main water line that was repaired by the city due to the fact that the leak was between the meter and the street. I called Plumbing Plus to give me a bid on replacing the water line from the meter to the house since I had the opportunity to use the existing hole dug at the meter. Paul came promptly and we discussed the different options and costs. Based on our interaction that day, I decided to hire Paul. He listened to my concerns and helped me decide which method to choose. One of the options he offers is a "mole" or boring device which is less intrusive and poses less risk of having to dig up the whole yard. It was a wise choice and I am happy with the results. His crew came and took care of the job in one day. They are professional, considerate and very thorough in cleaning up. Paul also directed his crew to move the new shut-off valve inside my basement to a more convenient location and suggested the installation of a stop and waste valve at the meter for the future use of a drip system for my xeriscaped yard. He gave me a fair price for the entire job including these little extras which are a nice personal touch and very much appreciated. I would gladly recommend Plumbing Plus to my friends and neighbors. They are definitely dedicated to their customers.

My son noticed our outdoor faucet leaking from the top valve. I tried to fix it, but only made the leak worse. By then it was GUSHING. We turned the water off to the house and called Paul. He reassured me that he'd come out that afternoon, which was a great relief. He called later in the day to get some information on what exactly the faucet valve was doing and the brand. He then went to the plumbing store on the way over to pick up the replacement part. Within 10 minutes, he had fixed it and I had water again! :) He also spent some time examining a kitchen remodel I'm doing, and advising on how he will run the gas line for my new gas stove. I have no idea what he'll charge for this visit (he sends invoices after the job) but whatever it is, I'll gladly pay it - Paul is SO worth it! As a single, middle-aged woman, I'm SO grateful and reassured to have someone I can call whenever there's a problem and know he will be there! Peace of mind is priceless! :) BTW, this is the second time I've used Paul for plumbing work. He and Eric were so fabulous on my first job that I knew there was no one else I would call. (See my previous review for that work.)

This terrific experience started from the time I called to schedule the appointment. I called during their lunch hour and left a message, and Paul called me back within the hour. I was teaching a class at work when he called, hit the wrong button on my cell phone, and subjected him to listening to my lecturing the class, LOL. When I realized what had happened, I called him back, and we had a good laugh over my gaffe and a good conversation about business values and customer service. What an attractive man!!!That phone call alone was enough to tell me I had stumbled upon a good one. Eric came out a few days later to fix the toilet. Paul had told me on the phone that in some cases, it's best to just replace the toilet, especially if a toilet had been behaving badly for as long as mine had. He told me he'd put an extra toilet on the truck just in case it had to be replaced - that way, they wouldn't have to come back. Eric was pleasant and spent his time very effectively - he tried a number of different things to get the toilet to flush properly, and when none of them worked, we agreed that he should just replace the toilet. He pulled the toilet, and then found the problem - my son or his friends had apparently flushed q-tips down the toilet, which were keeping it from flushing properly. Eric cleaned it all out (yuck :), replaced the toilet, and it works fine. I was super-impressed, because if he hadn't called me downstairs to show me the clog, he could have just replaced the whole toilet and I never would have known. But he was honest and did exactly the right thing. :) Paul (the owner) even stopped by while Eric was working on the toilet, and we had another nice conversation. What a class act! Finally, as if the experience wasn't good enough, when I received my invoice in the mail a few days later, Paul had included a very funny comment in the description of services. I don't think I've ever laughed out loud at a bill, but this one cracked me up. I posted it on Facebook and all my friends thought it was hilarious too! So, to sum up...we have a friendly, service-oriented business owner and a capable, nice employee. We have a real person who cares about his customers. We have honest service. We have high-quality work. We have a great sense of humor. We have fair prices. It truly doesn't get any better than this (well, when it comes to plumbing, I mean :) I have found a plumber for life!

Wow!!! Amazing!!! Great!!!! The first estimate I received was from Action Plumbing for $2898.63. They weren't sure where the leak was and felt they should just replace all the piping from the house to the road. They told me that I had galvanized pipe and that it should be replaced. They said there is a chance the problem is at the stop and waste but that it is very unlikely. Just to fix the stop and waste would be $1200.00 - $1700.00 but they recommended while they are down there you may as well replace everything. I called Paul at Plumbing Plus. He came out 20 minutes later. He took one look at the pipe leaving my house and told me that I certainly have copper all the way out to the street. He even explained why. He also said it is unlikely that the copper is leaking and the problem is most likely at the stop and waste. His estimate was for $550.00 for the same job Action Plumbing wanted to charge $1200.00 at a minimum. Paul's crew did the work right away. When the final bill came he only charged me $422.00 after tax. WOW!!!! How wonderful. Plumbing Plus is the most professional plumbing company I have ever worked with. I would recommend you at least get an estimate for any work you need done. You will be sold on his professionalism as well as his price. Thanks you Paul

I came home from work to find my entire basement flooded under 4" of water. While trying to remove the water it was discovered that my sewer line was clogged (Ewwww, guess where the flood water came from?) I called Plumbing Plus and spoke with Paul who was friendly and enthusiastic on the phone. Turns out, he was friendly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable in person! Paul kept me informed about the process throughout the entire fix-which ended up taking a little longer than expected. Paul was very reassuring during a period when I felt completely lost and uncertain. It should also be noted that this service was provided during the coldest period of the winter months and most of the work was done outside. Not a complaint was heard coming from Paul. I would certainly recommend Paul and Plumbing Plus to anybody needing plumbing services. On 2/22/2011 I contacted Plumbing Plus again to request additional work rebuilding a shower. Once again Paul was friendly, enthusiastic very helpful and punctual. I will never make the mistake of contacting a large plumbing service again-I have been spoiled by the excellent staff at Plumbing Plus.

The previous company I had out had told me this pipe needed to be replaced. Paul came out within an hour because I was close. He does give free estimates because he doesn't have to drive a long way. He knew I was asking him for a second opinion. He went down and looked at the pipe and started shaking his head and told me there are so many plumbing companies are dishonest. He told me there was no reason to replace the pipe in our lifetime. He also advised me that about once a month to poor boiling water in my sinks and toilets and that it would help keep my pipes clear. He actually educated me how to prevent problems which was nice!

I have had problems with the line backing up when a large amount of water goes through the sewer line. So when my water softener would regenerate water would back up into my tub and shower. Paul and Eric came out once before and ran the camera through the line to check the sewer line itself because another plumbing service had told me my line was "bellied" and I would have to replace the sewer line. As they ran the camera through it appeared as though a second clean out had been installed when the sewer line was put in, so we talked then about trying to find the clean out or install a second one. There was a section of pipe we couldn't get the camera through at that time so they cleaned out the line as best they could by going through the line inside the house, and then the original clean out to the street. When the water softener regenerated later in the month water backed up again. Paul sent a helper out to dig down to see if we could locate a second clean out by the side of the house. He dug where I thought the line was but couldn't find the line. A second hole was dug by Eric at the site of the original clean out, and a second clean out was installed going the opposite direction so now the line can be cleaned out from both directions. Eric located the blockage and cleared the line. Then he took the camera through again to make sure the section of line we couldn't see before was clear. He then capped the clean out and back filled the hole. I was anxiously awaiting the next regeneration of the water softener which is set to regenerate at 2:00 am, a low water use time. I thought it was getting close to the regeneration cycle and so I went downstairs two days ago to see when I would need to be ready to either check on the regeneration or clean up the backup. And YAY!! At some point in time this week it had regenerated and everything was fine, and I slept through it all. I wish I could remember the names of the two helpers that helped to dig the holes but I can't. Eric and the two helpers were very professional, courteous, and worked very hard to make sure I don't have any future problems. And no the line is not "bellied" it just needed a good cleaning out. I highly recommend this plumbing service.

Paul and his assistant, Eric, showed up on time and ready to go. I showed Paul the problem and he immediately got to work. He had to shimmy his way through my horrible crawl space to get to the problem. I think he is the last human in 20 years to visit that space. That alone was worth the price not to have to do that myself. Eric prepared the outside faucet and 20 minutes later, i was in business. Before they left Paul gave some good sound advice on my planned plumbing renovation this summer. It was like having my dad and younger brother helping me out. Thanks guys!

First off, I didn't want to call a professional. I am a man on a budget. It's not that I mind paying, or that I don't think professionals earn their money, or even that I really thought I could do it myself: If I was going to pay someone, not only did I need my problem completely solved, but to be honest, I was going to need all of the extra consideration one should only ever really expect from a friend, if one is not to be constantly disappointed. I needed someone who could work fast, treat me with respect, give me a deal. I needed someone to go out of their way for me. That is exactly what Paul did. I called up Plumbing Plus, hoping to get a little free information so I could do the job myself. It's Saturday. I don't want to pay for WEEKDAY rates, let alone weekends. My furnace had quit firing the night before. This is January. I expected my account of my situation to get interrupted with a brush-off, or maybe I would be foisted onto a receptionist and have to make an appointment. Paul listened to my story. He responded with several ideas that I might try. He was knowledgeable enough about my particular unit to suggest very specific remedies I might try. All of which he followed with, "I'm actually almost done in Park City. If you run into more problems, call me back." He wanted to make sure that I had heat that night if he could, I could tell. Was I right? I experienced further problems and called him back. He was at my house 40 minutes later! I liked Paul instantly. Before doing anything else, he made me feel like everything was going to be fine. We went right to the basement and checked out my furnace. He eliminated all of the possible causes of my issue quickly until deducing the actual problem. That's all well and good, but it's Saturday. At first it seems like I might be screwed until Monday, when supply houses are open. This was fine with me. Then Paul starts thinking of other solutions. Monday wasn't fine with him. He called an associate and in no time tracks down the part I need. A less expensive, gently used one, no less. He can have it to me by Sunday. Great. Paul is gone now and I'm more than satisfied, and then I get a call. It's Paul. "You know, I think I'm just going to go take a drive down south [100000-ish South] and get the part from the guy today. I'll be back to your place in a little while. We'll get your heat on tonight." What? That's how it was with Paul from the moment he answered his phone till the part was put in my furnace and I was shaking his hand as he left. A grand total of 3 hours later. I am typing this an hour after that, in a warm house. The 'Do you know a good plumber?' problem is HANDLED. Many people are good at the mechanical aspect of a trade. The proficiency of Plumbing Plus, while beyond question, is but one of the facets of what makes them great. Responsiveness, personability, not trying to up-sell me and make it sound like I'd be an idiot if I didn't take their advice, actually fixing my problem, enjoying their work: In short, I feel like it was Paul's mission to solve my problem, not try to figure out how to charge me for it. And to me, that is the most important, and rare, find. Look no further: Plumbing Plus+...Even on Saturdays! -Ian Thomas
Description of Work: Paul Schaaf came to my house, twice in the same day; The first time he thoroughly inspected my furnace [The blower motor would run continuously, but the burners would not light] as well as LISTENING to what I had already discovered prior to calling a professional, and used all of this information to diagnose the problem about which I'd called; He DIDN'T tell me my furnace was too old and needs to be replaced [it is and it does!]; He DIDN'T correct every single word I spoke. It turned out that the solution to my particular problem was to replace the gas valve. The second time he came to my house, approx. an hour later, was with the gas valve I needed, which he then installed.

Response from Plumbing Plus
Dear Member, I regret to see your disappointment in my company. I apologize for not reporting to you over the phone the normality of the job we completed for you. There were no uncommon obstructions in the toilet we unclogged, as was mentioned in the bill that was sent to you. I assure you that the job was completed in a timely manner, and that your bill of $136.50 reflects the minimum charge for all of our jobs completed within one hour of dispatch. (This standard minimum fee is derived not only from the average time spent at the job, but also time for processing paperwork, retrieving materials and providing clear communication to my associates on how to resolve the issue at hand.) We do appreciate your business and hope to have resolved some of your concerns. Thank you for your feedback, V. Paul Schaaf, owner
Blakely S.

The owner actually has employees. His employees came to the job site. He only has a few employees, and he has tight control over his staff. He has instantaneous, excellent service. His guys are really professional and nice. This company has done service for every property I own. They have tremendous integrity. I can trust them to go to my tenant's houses to fix things without my supervision. They are really professional.
Description of Work: They checked my hot water heating system, and they installed all of my gas appliances. They also fixed my sink fixture.
