The 4 men who worked over the two days were professional and polite, and explained all of their work and answered questions clearly. They were careful to not leave dirt or a mess behind and assisted with instructions on the equipment, as well as how to apply for rebates and tax credits. I will definitely use Manwill for all future needs in plumbing or heating, and would recommend them to other members.

I needed to replace our older furnace and had read good things about Rheem furnaces. I contacted several different companies but settled on Manwill Plumbing and Heating after speaking with Katy Maddock, their representative. Ms. Maddock was very knowledgeable and helpful to me in determining which furnace would be best for our house. She also pointed out that the cold air returns, which I understand are necessary for efficient functioning of the furnace, had been covered over (before I lived here) and advised that the Manwill crew would uncover them. Other work (as shown above) was discussed. I signed the paperwork and the Manwill crew arrived the next day to do the installation. All the work was accomplished as agreed. I was a little worried about the cold air returns since this involved putting a couple of holes in the floor but it turned out great. Also, Ms. Maddock took the initiative to prepare the paperwork that allowed me to be reimbursed $300.00 by Questar which I much appreciated.

I needed to have sink faucets installed, because my mother was staying with us and there was no hot water. They came out that day, worked quickly and got the job done. They didn't have the faucet needed in stock, by allowed me to purchase one and installed it.

Outstanding! I selected Manwill from three different bids based on their salesperson, Rick Davis, and both his knowledge of my needs and ability to explain options. The system itself was installed in 2 1/2 days (originally quoted 3 days), and the installation team was exceptionally professional and clean, going so far as to use hand brooms and dust pans to clean every bit of dirt. The overall quality of the system is fantastic - the home already has equalized temperatures on all three levels, and with the rebates they told me about, the system will end up costing just at $10K - an amazingly deal!

Great as usual - I now never use anyone else for anything to do with HVAC or plumbing. Called Monday PM and scheduled a Wednesday AM appointment. They called around 2:00pm Tuesday and said they have a man free if I want earlier service. He was here and repaired the problem in about 30 minutes, no mess, and very professional as usual.

Outstanding. This is my second time in using Manwill for various services, and as with the first time it was perfect. Two gentlemen showed up clean and professionally dressed. They installed the new hot water heater, removed the old one (I wasn't planning on that!) and installed the needed water line, all in just over two hours. The quality of the plumbing is perfect, and they cleaned up as if they were never there.

We were very pleased with them. They were pretty prompt and did a pretty good job. We would use them again in the future.

Salesman Brian Biehler spent an hour with us, carefully analyzing our needs and answering various questions on a/c models that would qualify for Federal tax credits and utility rebates. Biehler stressed the importance of choosing the right unit to earn these credits and rebates. We chose a Rheem out of 3 brands Biehler detailed. Biehler promised to send us copies of forms we would need to submit for credit and rebates. The very next day, Manwill installed a new 11-month old Rheem that does not -never did- qualify for credit and rebates. In 2 or 3 calls over a couple of weeks, I failed to get action from Biehler and an inside man, Brian Jackson. Finally, I brought the problem to the attention of the owner, Jim Manwill, who said he was "as surprised" as I was over what happened. He immediately offered to change out the unit or send me a check to make up for the rebates. I would point out that Manwill was very quick to respond to our initial inquiry and installed the unit within a day. I realize that "things happen" but my greatest irritation was with the inaction on the part of the salesman and the inside man. Of course, it's easy for an owner to fix a problem but other people in an organization should be empowered to take action to satisfy the customer.

I live in an old Sugarhouse Bungalow. It is 100 years old. So I was kind of expecting some problems along the way and for it to be more expensive. Overall the price they charged us was market value. So a fair deal. We had some installation issues with the first crew. They did not follow the instrucitons and pictures on where to install the A/C lines. So I called home office and they came out the next day and evaluated the first crews job and pulled them off. After that the job and work they did went really well. I know from experience had I hired a lesser company they would have walked away or I would have had to fire them. They did everything said they would and took good care of us. I would highly recommend Manwell Heating and Air.

We were very happy with the whole experience, the initial meeting with Rick for a bid through the completion of the installation of the furnace. Although the installation did take longer than anticipated due small issues in drilling through a brick wall and an extra air in-take had to be added, everything worked out perfectly. We are complete happy with our new furnace and coulnd't ask for anything better!

After having the water overflow in the bathroom into the floor vent for the heater in the crawl space I thought the furnace would have to be replaced or at least the electronics fixed. I was expecting a very large bill. I called late friday night and there guy came out the next day exactly the time I asked for. He was great and told me that the furnace was fine just needed the vent replaced. I also asked him to look at my water heater when he was there. He fixed that problem too with a minimal cost. He also gave me the Angie's list discount even though I didn't have the coupon printed out.

Went very well. Installed in a very short time and in a professional manner. REquired movement of ducts in order to make room for the new system.

They are great when working on HVAc, i have used them several times over the years and i have always been satified with their furnace work. I would defintitely recommend them!!

I was first given a price quote and then scheduled the plumbers. Before installing the Rinnai, the 2 plumbers, Jaren and Jerry, were concerned about the number of gas appliances I had for the amount of gas coming into the house. They called the gas company who came out to look at it and agreed there wasn't enough even without installing the Rinnai. I decided to go ahead and have them install the Rinnai but I had to have the city inspector approve a larger gas line, then the gas company had to install the bigger gas line to the house, then Jaren and Jerry had to install regulators at every appliance and check each for leaks, then the gas company and the city inspector had to come back. Jaren amazingly coordinated the gas company, city inspectors and their own schedules with mine to make everything happen over 3 visits so I wouldn't have to try to do it myself (it saved me lots of time). The job ended up costing much more than I expected and Jaren was concerned about the difference from what I was quoted so he made it a bit more reasonable. I really appreciated how they kept me up to date on what was happening and how much the job might cost and what my options were before they did the work and the fact that they did not leave a big mess for me to clean up. Both Jaren and Jerry are polite, hard workers and great problem solvers (I have an older house and nothing seems easy to change). I hope their boss realizes how great they are! They finished on a Friday and over the week-end I kept hearing a high pitched noise in 1 room. I called Manwill on Monday, they sent Jeremy out that day, he took the time to find the problem, fixed it (replaced a flex hose) and I was not charged.

Two workmen (one plumber and one apprentice) arrived on time and performed all of the work in under two hours. They charged $77 for parts and $223 for labor (I was not charged for the apprentice's time, which I thought was honest -- I wouldn't have known he was an apprentice ).

Two plumbers showed up from Manwill in the 3 hour window. They looked at our issues, and provided options. When they were done they cleaned up nicely. Looking back it seems like it was pretty expensive for what was done... but they did a good job.

Sceduled work for 24 hours from time of call. Time became available within six hours and they completed work a day early. They replaced an outside faucet which required cutting and replacing pipe and the faucet and repaired two other faucet leaks. I also had them replace the home Pressure Regulator Valve. The total cost for the outside faucet, pressure regulator valve, and two faucet leak repairs was $265.00 total parts and labor. I had been charged $649.00 for the pressure regulator alone just a year earlier by a major competator who was already at my home for a large scale installation of heating and cooling equipment for which I was paying over $10,000. Manwell provided all parts and supplies and did a quick and professional job at a very reasonable price. I will not hesitate to call on them in the future.

The sales person came in and did an estimate as to how much it would be to replace my AC and furnace (roughly $11,000). I told him I needed the system in within 2 weeks, and asked him to do a heat load calculation. Sales technician did not measure the house and just eyeballed my house for an estimate. When I called him to see if the heat calculation had been done, he replied he would have it done by the next day (how he would do that without any kind of measurement I don't know). I never heard back from him or from the company. You would think that when a customer is ready to buy, and you are talking about a $11,000 purchase, a company would be motivated to put forth their best effort. They appeared disinterested and unprofessional in the way they handled the estimate.

The project turned out to be much bigger than I had hoped - but I also realize that when you buy an old house - things need to be updated. Despite all the extra work that needed to be done, Sarge and Luke were able to do it all right then. It was a horribly messy job. The old chimney liner was full of dirt, sticks, and leaves. I don't know how the water heater and furnace were venting up that thing. I 'm surprised we didn't get carbon monoxide poisoning. Luke took out three garbage cans full of debris. He was covered in dirt by the time it was all done. They did all the work in about 5 hours - and I'm so happy to have it taken care of. I will need a new furnace - probably this year. They set everything up with the ductwork so that furnace installation will be very smooth. I will likely use them for the furnace installation as well - I was very impressed with their service, knowledge, and professionalism.

My central heating system went out on a recent Sunday morning. I called the company's number a little after noon, and a friendly HVAC serviceman arrived to my house within 90 minutes. The problem (faulty igniter) was diagnosed almost immediately. The serviceman had a replacement part in his van and replaced the old one within a few minutes. Very friendly, prompt service on a cold (and I'm sure, busy) Sunday afternoon. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

Called to set up an appointment due to such great ratings on this site. The call was answered in an unfriendly, unprofessional manner. I explained the issue I was having and requested to set up an appointment. I was put on hold without and explanation. After holding for 8 minutes I didn't feel confident about their service and called another company.

Katy came and gave me an estimate. She was very knowledgeable. She suggested several options and explained them. She was very helpful. Ken and Dan were my technicians. They were very professional and helpful. They were very knowledgeable and explained how everything worked. They answered all my questions and asked if I had any other questions. They showed up on time and cleaned up everything at the end of the day. Based on Katy, Ken and Dan I would highly recommend this company to my friends and family.

Manwill Plumbing has been in business for 86 years. They have a good name in Utah, and I have used them on a prior service call, which is why I called them again, as I was very happy with their service at that time. And, as a new subscriber to Angie's List. I found them on the list, also. On this call, Manwill scheduled me for a next day morning call (8am-12-pm) and told me that they would call me when they were on their way, which they did. Two men showed up. They were very courteous, and very professional. They found the problem with our leaky toilet, and proceeded to make the gasket repairs, and also repaired the water feed line valve. They replaced the flush valve with a new and up-dated one. These men knew their craft well, and answered my questions. They were neat and tidy with everything that they did, and left everything clean and neat. They also tightened another toilet better to the floor, and checked the other toilets to make sure that they were secured properly. Overall, I feel that I received excellent service for a good price.

Work was performed in an professional and timely manner. Workers could not have been more pleasant. Workers arrived at the appointed time and date, properly completed the work as scheduled and cleaned up well after themselves. New equipment was explained well. One problem did occur when a worker in the attic accidentally stepped on the ceiling drywall which was broken causing a hole in the ceiling. I was impressed at the sincere apology and that the company contacted a sheet rock company who called me back within the hour and arrived a few hours later to make the repair. The damage was a complete accident, but I was impressed that Manwill took complete ownership of the damage and repair thereof.

Manwill was the second company we contacted to propose replacement of the furnaces and water heater. The sales rep., Rick, was prompt in contacting us and making an appointment to see the job. We selected the heating system and water heater he recommended after reviewing the materials he left. Installation by Ben and Diego began promptly and the installation was completed in the time frame promised. Ben and Diego worked quickly and efficiently. The finished work looks great. We requested the additional gas pipe reconfiguration for gas appliances we hope to have installed in the future (range and perhaps a gas grill and gas log). Pressure regulators were installed because the gas pressure had to be increased to accommodate future appliances as well as the gas clothes dryer that was installed several years ago. Our supply/pressure was too low for the existing appliances let alone future appliances. Questar changed out the meter components so our gas supply/pressure and is now adequate.
