Manwill Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning

I had Manwill put in their top of the line Lennox Furnace (no thermostat was installed - used existing Google nest unit) and for the past 18 months we experienced a consistent increase in energy (kWh) consumption for heating and cooling. Today I called Manwill, explained my negative ROI on my initial investment and asked about having them install the thermostat they originally recommended in hopes of seeing an improvement. The price they quoted me had gone up $500 in 18 months (total quoted was over $1300, original quote, ~$800) so I’ve decided to terminate all my business with Manwill. I found the exact same S40 Lennox thermostat on Amazon brand new from an authorized Lennox dealer for $599 with the full manufacturer warranty and full feature set. Essentially Manwill was going to charge me $700 over retail price to install the thermostat. Sure Manwill has good service but are you willing to pay those kind of prices for good service and in my case product that does not deliver?? By the way, they put 3lbs of the most common Freon in my AC last week and that cost $684.00 (their cost per pound ~$40). Just seems everyone wants to jack their prices up and use inflation as an excuse for gouging hard working American families.

Robert and Josh (or John) sorry I can’t recall arrived on time after calling beforehand to let me know they were coming. They were very friendly and had a great working relationship. I asked a lot of questions and Robert was explained everything- he is a wealth of knowledge. They were professional and efficient and I was pleased with their work and attitude.

My 20 plus yr old swamp cooler recently developed a leak in the pan that was unfixable. Finding companies that still deal with swamp cooler replacement is becoming more difficult in SLC area as homeowner march towards central air units. I still prefer the simplicity yet efficiency of them. Plus very cost effective to run. I received a reasonable estimate and picked Manwill. Due to a busy schedule the crew agreed to come by on a Saturday for the install, less than 2 weeks from date of estimate. The installation went quite smoothly and I had my new swamp cooler up and running within 4 hrs.

I couldn’t be happier with my transaction with Manwill! Before I hired Manwill, I received bids from four different companies. Even though Manwill’s bid was not the least expensive, I decided to hire Manwill. I did this mainly as a result of my interactions with Bryan Biehler during the bid process. Bryan set himself apart because he came to my home 3 different times to figure out exactly how the return air vent would be installed, before he even gave me a bid! Bryan was truly exceptional! Everyone I had interaction with at Manwill was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, punctual, and treated my property with respect. Also, they didn’t try to collect more money than we agreed upon. I would definitely hire them again and would recommend them to friends and family.

We have been customers of Manwill for over 10 years. The reasons why were highlighted yesterday when our water heater unexpectedly failed. I called their emergency number at about 9:30 AM and was quickly connected with Jeff. He helped me figure out how to protect my home, educated me about the implications of recent legislation regarding water heaters, and scheduled an appointment for replacement for late yesterday evening. A brief while later, one of his teams were redirected to our home because their assigned job went more quickly than expected. The men had a new, environmentally safer water heater installed before 4:00 PM and for less than I had expected to pay. It is nice to have a company filled with people who know what they're doing, and behave in a professional, responsible manner, on your side, especially in an urgent situation.

I am blown away!! We lived with an extremely poor performing air/heat system for 17 years. our air ducts were too small and the vent system was placed improperly. The efficiency of the home needed a total correction. When we contacted Manwill air/heat, Bryan came to our home and understood our frustration with our current system. He spoke with us about options and was confident he could correct the system as much as possible. His knowledge was evident and helped us to make the best decisions possible. When I had additional concerns about possible noise of the new system being installed, he invited us to his home so we could hear the system in operation. Who Does This Today? Well only the best! Then when it came time to install the system, Heath the installer was incredible. He was as efficient as he and his crew could be. It was clear this was a large job but I never felt like he was going to cut corners to save time. He would often stay after I came home from work to explain how the day progressed. I could go on and on about the positive experience. So what I will say is our system is working amazing since the completion of the work. I have already recommended their services to a peer at work and I will only call and recommend the services of Manwill heating and air from this point forward. The extraordinary customer experience speaks volumes about the company, it’s employees and intent to go above and beyond We are great full for a job well done

The service was good they were prompt, we had them do some other works before, and they were always excellent to work with. they've also were willing provided advice on things that I needed information on out side of the extra paid services that they do and I was not treated like I am a nuisance.

My water heater failed on a Saturday! I called Manwill and Kris came in about 2 hours and replaced the water heater that day! He worked professionally, neatly and courteously. This was truly excellent service and on a weekend no less. I have used Manwill before and will continue to use them,no doubt!

As always, Manwill is terrific, competent, on time,and always does a good job. Expensive compared tO some others, it always honest, no pushing for extra work, but do the job cleanly and thoroughly.

Unbelievable! They charged $1600 for this simple job! We will never call in them for a job again. For the first hour, assessed it. Then they stood around and talked about it. The actual job took one guy two hours.

I had a very big leak in the front of my house that happened over the weekend. I called Manwill (who advertise 24 hr service) in the morning and was told they would send someone out and I would be called in advance. I called back twice but no one showed by 6 PM. They didn't know what was going on and had no idea if and when someone would come out. I waited around the house most of the day for nonexistent service and for a urgent problem.

They asked questions made suggestions and completed job as needed with promptness and reasonable price

Bill came out as scheduled and within the time frame and evaluated my situation. He checked for leaks and told me my furnace was safe. I was greatly relieved and hope to follow up with their company for repairs or replacement in the future. He was very professional and has significant experience in this field. He stated he has been with the company for 25 yrs. I was very pleased with the service.

Bill from Manwill came in on a Saturday morning for us (an after hours fee was included in the total price), and called me 30 minutes prior to arrival, letting us know he was picking up the new water heater and when he'd be arriving. I was able to discuss with him to make sure the costs and items were what I was expecting from the previous days phone appointment, and he showed up on time, and had the work done in 2 hours. Extremely friendly, nice, clean, and quick service to fully replace our home's water heater and expansion tank. Thanks!

Katy diagnosed our problem by allowing me to text her a photo of our unit, which saved a lot of time. She came quickly to personally explain our options. She was very friendly and professional and understood our concerns of fast, reliable and affordable service of a new unit that would work well for years. She truly has our best interests at heart. Our technicians were Dan and Alex and they couldn't have been better. Katy told them to treat us like family and they worked quickly to get our new furnace, AC, coil, thermostat and ducts installed, inspected and working perfectly. It was like a breath of fresh, cool air! And Katy handled getting us all signed up for a Lennox rebate that helped tremendously. She even reminded me to send her our gas bill so she could get the rebate to us sooner! Highly recommended team of professionals over there!

They showed up, "adjusted" the valve, and left, saying that it might fix the problem, and we'd see the next morning when the pipes either knocked or didn't. That's the first clue this is a problem. Here's the kicker : they left without checking to see if the water still worked. They knocked the water out to the whole building, by adjusting the pressure far below rated on a PRV that was already way out of spec for a 2 family unit (valve is normally one that you'd use on a single boiler, not to serve 6 beds, 5 baths, and 6 people). They didn't say anything about the valve being totally inappropriate for the use case, they just adjusted it way out of spec, didn't check to see if they broke absolutely everything else, said maybe it'd fix the problem, and left. When they were called back, they said they could have an after hours guy come out, at after hours rate + std. service call rate, to look at and diagnose the problem they'd caused. At *3AM*. No thanks. In the meantime, I'd been in touch on the phone with another plumber (see next review I'm about to write), who was talking me through diagnosing the problem on the phone gratis, was incredibly helpful and professional. We arranged for that company to fix the problem Manwill had caused, they showed up before 8:00 AM, confirmed that the entirely wrong equipment was installed and that it had been adjusted far out of spec, and fixed the problem for good. Maybe it's just because I'm an engineer, but being asked to fix a problem is your job. Doing that job doesn't mean showing up, twisting a knob, not checking to see if you blew up everything else, saying that it'd "maybe" fix the problem, and leaving. That's (a) not how systems work, and (b) is really bad customer service. I've used this company in the past for thousands of dollars of work. I will never call them again.

My air conditioner stopped blowing cold air on a weekend. I called Manwill Plumbing and was lucky enough to get a technician to come around to look at it on a Sunday for a $50, plus the diagnostic fee. He found the problem quickly - I needed a replacement blower motor and wheel. He explained the issue thoroughly along with what the fix would entail. Then he broke the bad news - they didn't have parts on hand and would have to order them. He apologized and promised Manwill would get them in as quickly as possible and he'd come back to install asap. Given the age of the air conditioner (and previous repairs for it), i was not surprised that the parts would need to be ordered. The technician kept his promise and returned to my house 5 days later to install the parts. He apologized again for the delay, and answered other questions that I had about my AC unit. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and would use them again. While
