David is a professional and definitely works hard for his clients. At the time I was looking for a condo my job required extensive travel so I had limited time to look at properties. After giving my criteria for a home to David he prescreened the listing and did not waste my time looking at things that just wouldn?t work. He got me into my condo quickly and smoothly. Dave did an excellent job representing us for the purchase of our new home. With that being said it was not your normal run of the mill transaction. Dave first showed great patience with us during our house search. Then handled two issues with our best intentions in mind. Let me go into a little bit more detail. We moved from Phoenix back to Salt Lake in June of 2014 after a 11 year absence. After living in Phoenix we had some pretty specific ideas of the type of house wanted and began our search in February a full 4 months prior to our scheduled move date. During that period we pretty much spent every available moment looking for a home. Between hitting scheduled Open Houses and researching properties online to schedule private showings we must have seen 80 homes during that period. (This Realtor has patience!) In early May we finally found a house that would work for our family. We went through the normal process, scheduled a mid June close date and confirmed the date with our moving company, All looked good.... Unfortunately 3 days prior to closing, the title Company discovered that there was a bankruptcy lien on the property to the tune of $30K. Because of the unknown time frame it would have required to clear the lien, we decided to look for an another home. Dave contacted the other agent and exercised the contract to obtained our cash back plus negotiated damages because of the sellers non-compliance. Lets move to House #2... Is it possible to have lightning hit twice? Well it did in nearly the exact same situation. Our Realtor could not have done anything to prevent this from happening to us. It was truly issues on the Sellers side that the title company exposed. In both cases though, Dave Kevitch, did the best job possible protecting us during the process. Lets face it, its pretty easy to show a house and sell it when everything goes smoothly. You want a Realtor to represent you in the most professional fashion and with 100% of your interest at heart especially when the chips are down. Dave Kevitch is that Realtor. By the way, we went back to the first house that had the lien mentioned above and were able to work out a deal. We closed in September without a hitch and all is good.

He has actually counseled me and my husband with our real estate concerns for a long time and was the only person we wanted to help us when it was time to sell. I contacted David after looking up his reviews on Angie's List. He was professional, responsive and knowledgeable. This is the first home I had sold, and he explained all of the steps to me and my husband. He was right on the mark for what he thought my house would sell for. During the time the house was on the market, David checked in with me weekly to give me updates regarding how many showings we had and how may were coming up. It was reassuring to me that every phone call was returned; every question-regardless of how simple, was answered. He made us feel like we were the most important clients he had. As it turned out, David also helped two of my co-workers purchase their homes, and they had the same experience. I would highly recommend David Kevitch to anyone who wants to sell or purchase their home.

David was one of a number of agents we interviewed. He came well prepared with a variety of examples of his real estate sales experience. He was attentive and easy going and we felt good about working with him. David had a long history of working in our neighborhood and had sold homes in the nearby areas. After touring our home David made some helpful suggestions about how to best present our home to the public. We followed Davids advice and by the time our house was ready to sell it looked the best it had in many, many years. Before setting an asking price David took us around to a number of houses that were currently for sale. Seeing what was out there gave us a good gauge for what our asking price should be. In addition to listing and advertising our home on the MLS service, David also reached out to his own marketing group in advance of our house getting listed. This resulted in a good offer and back-up offer on our home. David then was instrumental in negotiating the process of the home inspection, and financing elements of the deal. Our buyers, and buyers agent were not the most professional, and David actually helped us save money thru this tiring process. He was always in contact with us, and always called back and answered communications very quickly. Once the house closed we were definitely relieved that we had such a positive experience. Much of this we owe to Davids help.

It's rare to find someone that is really an expert in their field but David is that rare exception. He's been working in real estate for over 20 years and I don't think anyone knows the Utah market better then him. I've been friends with David for many years and when my wife and I started looking for our first home I called him right away. David was great to work with throughout the whole process. He helped us find homes that matched what we wanted, took us to see dozens of different homes in person, and in the end helped us find the perfect home. David also put us in touch with some awesome people throughout the whole process. He recommended a great mortgage company, a great title company, and a great home inspector. Everyone we worked with throughout the process of buying our new home was exceptional, and all thanks to David. We shopped for many months before finding the home we eventually purchased. Throughout that long process David never tried to rush into making a decision we weren't ready to make or encourage us to buy a home we didn't love. What he did do was encourage us to look at more homes and to really find one that we loved. Thankfully with his help and a little luck, we did just that. Buying our first home was a big decision and we had A LOT of questions along the way. David took the time to answer all of our many questions and I never doubted that he had the right answers. As I have read many other reviews on Angie's list about David and other clients experiences, I believe it's quite clear that the majority of reviews see David as an absolute asset in all areas of a real estate transaction. My experience with David has been no different as he assisted me in buying a home in our first transaction in the East Mill Creek area of Salt Lake. We both agreed on a price to purchase the home. As we continued through the process of due diligence, inspections, etc., David would point out things with the home that I had not thought about or noticed that could help us negotiate the price in a way that was fair not only for myself but the seller also. David and I believe, that in any transaction, both parties need to come away feeling like the transaction was appropriate and fair where both parties can shake hands and recommend one another's services. I know David has received referrals from the Agents' sellers after David performed a transaction with his buyer. That speaks volumes about David's integrity and professionalism as a Realtor. David has a hot list that he has set for me over the years where I'm alerted everyday of new listings in the demographic area that I am looking to invest. This has been an invaluable resource for me as I don't need to do as much homework looking up new listings myself as David has already done that for me. David is very tech savvy and is always looking for better ways to help his clients find properties and not waste time with mundane things that take away from the process of finding the right property for the future homeowner. David has shown to be very forward thinking on how to get the most for his clients as well as always being prompt when setting up appointments and following through on a commitment. I was introduced to Dave from a family member that had a relationship with them through real estate transactions. I ended up interviewing a couple of individuals and decided that Dave was the best choice. When Dave came over and we talked about selling our house, he gave suggestions based on his past experiences as to what he felt would increase our sell value. Our home sold in 3 weeks, a little quicker that we anticipated but his recommendations were spot on. Through out the process of selling our home, he was 100% our advocate on every question, concern, and when it came to working with the realtor of the buyers. Based off what homes in our area were selling for and what we ended up selling ours for, we know that we got top value for it and it was because of Dave. As Dave helped us find our new home, he was top notch. Was always available and was very accommodating with the times and days we had available to look at new homes. With all the homes we looked at, he assured us that it wasn't a big deal and would show us as many houses as it took to find what we'd like. He explained that everything we were looking at had been on the market for a while because of maybe price, layout, etc but that we would soon start to see the new ones being listed. Again 100% spot on. We found a home and he went back and forth with the the sellers on our behalf and we ended up getting the best deal possible because of him. After everything was said and done, he offered to cater our house warming party once we are completely settled in even though it is not necessary. I know it is traditional for "closing gifts" but I really didn't care for that and he still insisted on catering. Dave is not only a top notch Realtor but you can tell his personality and integrity is part of his everyday approach to everything he does and that shines through with his business acumen. I definitely recommend Dave and will use him again if ever needed.

Above & Beyond When I decided to buy my home I knew I had to be in a specific area of town. David was incredible we looked at EVERY home in the area that was for sale, within my price range. I was so glad I had David on my side when it came to negotiations. I was able to get EVERYTHING I wanted at a price that met my budget. David is always responsive to all the questions I had. His communication with the seller and with me was what was impressive, he has a way of keeping everyone informed and involved. Working with him, I always felt I could relax and focus on moving because he had everything involved in the purchase under control. I have gone through the process of buying a home a few times now. By far, David has been the most impressive agent that I have worked with. He was always available to answer any questions and to show all the homes that I was interested in. We went out looking on several occasions and saw close to 50 homes. David was very personable and we hired him after interviewing two other realtors. He gave us a plan on how he handle the sale of our home and make sure we would find a our final dream home. It all sounded like a great plan and things just didn't happened they way he outlined. He said he would have a professional take pictures of our house and have a staging company come and help us stage the house. The staging company just came told me what stuff to get rid of and how to move a few pieces of furniture. Then told me to pack up and clear out everything in our laundry room whatever we didn't need in our closets. I didn't have anywhere to put the boxes and did not want to rent a storage unit since I didn't know how long the sale would take. They didn't tell me how to dress up the house so it would show better. (luckily then ended up not billing me for the house call). David ended up taking the pictures of the house I guess because of the rush to get it on the market since we found a house we wanted. David had us pay to have the house appraised which I feel was a waste of money. It doesn't matter what your house appraises for if there isn't a buyer who will pay that much for it. We would have ended up the same if we just took the average price per square foot on the comparisons in the area. He also had us have a home inspection done so that we wouldn't have any surprises when we found a buyer. Well that didn't keep us from having things almost fall through because the buyers inspector felt there was an issue with the roof. Instead of telling us exactly what the inspector said David said that the buyers would probably want us to put on a new roof. Which luckily for us they didn't, but it did cost us $2100. I felt constantly pressured to lower the selling price on the house. Overall my frustration came due to the fact that nothing David told us worked out like he said. He also did not pay attention to the details on selling the house. The sellers wouldn't accept any contingencies and neither would the buyers. It's great that a realtor knows how to try and make things work in your favor, and they need to be honest about how often buyers and sellers will accept those things. On a positive note, David knows all the ins and outs of buying and selling houses. He's happy to show you as many houses as you want to see.

David helped us work through a difficult real estate market to find our house and used his expert negotiating skills to help us beat out an out-of-state home flipper in order to acquire the property. He was instrumental in helping us build our case to the loan people in order to secure our loan when it looked like the deal was about to fall apart. He was a shining star in an otherwise completely miserable experience. We have been through the home buying process in many different states and cities. Over this time, we have dealt with several different Realtors who were all fairly similar, competent, and professional. All of the other markets we have dealt with were much less competitive than the SLC area and the process went rather smoothly. When we started the home shopping process in SLC we found David through Angie's list and decided to give him a try. We quickly learned what a disaster the SLC real estate market is after getting an early start on the Spring market. The initial offerings were all priced near the top of our budget and were either in horrible shape, were obvious flips, or were in undesirable locations. We quickly learned that desirable properties get grabbed up within a matter of days in this market, which became exceptionally frustrating when we planned to see a house and it would be gone before we could get an opening in our work schedules to see it. David has been working in this market for 20+ years and is well acquainted with the various neighborhoods and offerings in the area. He has a great sense of what a property is worth and does not hesitate to tell you if the property is overpriced or has some element that may make it undesirable for the buyer. He is incredibly patient and went through several hundred homes with us before we found one that would work. I never felt even remotely under pressure to buy from him. He would rather have you find the right house than pressure you into making a rash decision, and he helped talk us out of several homes before we found the right one. He is easy to get a hold of and responds promptly, often within minutes any time of the day. What really puts David on another level is his shrewdness in negotiations. He is a masterful artist in the world of deal-making and his skills were essential to us getting the house we wanted. After finally finding a house we wanted, we went in to make an offer and found that someone else put in an offer the day before and that the owners had accepted the offer. David made our interest in the property known to the owners as well as our higher offer and kept in close contact as the due diligence period passed. In the end, he was able to convince the sellers to let off the other buyer when they started to renegotiate the deal, which ultimately led to us getting the house. If you are interested in buying property in this ridiculous market, you need David Kevitch working with you. We would likely either have given up or would still be looking without him working so hard to get us into a home. If we ever decide to put ourselves through this painful process again, David will be there with us.

One of the things we loved the most about working with Dave was that he was patient. He took me to see as many homes as I wanted to see and offered up his knowledge and expertise without bias. He could point out strengths and weaknesses in construction and design that I may not have thought about or known to look for. If there was a hot home on the market but I wasn't able to step away from work to visit it, Dave offered to tour the home himself and film it or facetime me while walking through. I love that kind of creativity and client experience. He tailored everything around our needs and made us feel like we were getting millionaire service. Dave was very aware of our top priorities and very respectful of our opinions. When we stepped inside each home Dave would stand back, allow us a moment to take it in, walk around, and then listen to our thoughts and responses to each space. I appreciated that Dave positioned himself as a resource but never tried to steer me away from falling in love with one particular home over another. Dave was respectful of our time and always had a plan for what houses to see so that we could maximize each appointment. He did his homework when he called the other agents. He knew the neighborhoods and the profiles of each home. Sometimes he could determine beforehand if we should just skip a home that I initially wanted to see because it didn't meet our top criteria. I appreciated that he put time and thought into each visit. We've been living in our home for over 6 months now and it has been a dream come true. I love that Dave works with any good buyer: first time homes to those settling into their 5th or 6th home with a view. We will definitely work with Dave again in the future.

I'm a professional pilot, I fly 747s all over the world. While I'm the one at the front end, I know that the plane doesn't move an inch without a dedicated team of professionals around me. When I decided to buy a house in SLC, I knew that it would be a major undertaking. I wanted a professional team on my side to make it happen. No position is probably more important than who you choose as a realtor. I found David Kevitch after interviewing several independent realtors to large firm real estate offices. I knew within 5 minutes that I would use David after meeting him. Everyone I interviewed pretty much had the same speech, but David set himself apart by starting our introduction by simply talking about who I was and what was important to me, then we talked houses. I immediately felt like he was on my team in the home buying process. David made me feel excited but relaxed about the upcoming long road to finding the right home. Now that I've found THE house, thanks to David, I can reaffirm that everything I felt and he told me at the beginning was true. David made the whole process fun, thorough and mostly painless. Since this was my first time buying, David suggested we simply look at as many houses as possible to help me figure out exactly what I wanted. He was tireless. We looked at many many houses. Here are some aspects of his method that really made a difference: Knowledge: David has been doing this a long time, in SLC, and it shows. He knew the areas I wanted to look in. He knew which houses were worth it, which ones were well done, but thankfully mostly which ones to disregard. He knew I wanted to find a house that needed some work, and he was knowledgeable about what repairs were needed and a general cost idea. Communication: I traveled on work trips during my house hunt but David never stopped searching, investigating and resolving for me. His communication set up was excellent. He used everything to keep in touch with me. I know he's a busy guy, so even if he didn't pick up the phone, a text soon followed telling me he would return my call as soon as possible. Emails were always waiting for me where ever I landed with updates on the market. Commitment: What I liked most about David was that he knew he was the most important part of my house buying team, so he led, but he didn't decide. He delivers options. He suggests, he advises, he informs. But the decision was always mine, which is how it should be. David was committed to helping me get the right house at the right price. I truly felt like his only client. David has been with me through the whole buying process and then some. He continues to stay in touch with me to ensure I'm completely satisfied. As a first time buyer, I tried to do my homework, before and during the process. My advice to you, especially if you are a first timer, is take the time to interview those important persons like realtors and loan officers. You'll quickly discover a pattern of those who just want to shuffle you through the process and collect their reward. David Kevitch was not that person. David will be your right hand man, he will be friendly, easy going but professional in the process. There are ups and downs in home buying, and having David on your side being clear headed, calm and patient will keep you confident. If you want to buy a house in SLC, David will help you find it. David was a superb consultant and salesman. He showed me homes, plus gave advice on outdoor activities in a 25 mile radius of Salt Lake City. Since David spent a good amount of time in the Utah outdoors, he was an excellent source of knowledge. David was friendly, personable, and reliable; but also a good listener. Since I chose a different location in Utah, I did not complete a transaction with David this time, but would contact him first if I need to relocate to Salt Lake City.
Description of Work: David introduced me to Salt Lake City and environs, and spent two days showing me approx 20 single family detached homes for sale.

I interviewed a few different realtors before deciding on Dave. I chose him because he seemed very proactive - and he was. I was a first-time homebuyer with a low budget. He took the time to explain everything and he didn't seem to mind that my budget was low. He didn't try to talk me in to more expensive houses. He emailed me new listing multiple times a day. And when he saw an exceptionally great listing, he made sure I saw it quickly. Turns out it was the perfect house for me. It had just come on the market. We checked it out and made an offer within hours. He negotiated everything, and the seller's agent called him a "bulldog"! That's the kind of guy I want working for me! I'm thrilled with my new home, and I was very happy with Dave's service. Oh, did I mention we found my house within 2 weeks of looking?? Amazing! I'll definitely call him next time I need a realtor!

I interviewed with David to sell my house. Based on our initial exchange, I liked him and planned to use him. We discussed a few fixes around the house that might improve the ease of sale, and we discussed a target sale price based on his feel for the market. I didn't have a handyman so I used David's normal guy, the guy that David recommends to all of his clients. The contractor turned out to be absolutely horrible and a huge pain to deal with, which led me to question David's judgement about that guy. In the end I decided to use a different realtor...who sold the house for $10,000 more than David suggested we list for...and without concessions or closing costs. That translated to $15,000 more in my pocket than David would've gotten for me, and it went under contract just three days after we listed. Between the horrible buddy recommendation for a contractor and the inability to read the market for asking/selling price, I was very disappointed in my experience with David.

I was contacted by this gentleman though Angies list and made an appointment to meet. We met and I spent most of our appointment pointing out things he could do to increase the value of his home. He asked who he could hire to do the work and I told him to check on Angies list, or he could call a general contractor that I had used before. He decided to use the man that I recommended. I am not sure if he got any other bids. Unfortunately he was not happy with his work and I am sorry for that. Unfortunately I can not guarantee the work of others. I have referred out this same contractor over 40 times with not one complaint. As for the value of the home, we had never officially come up with a value. I showed him the comparable sales in the area and told him that I would recommend that he get an appraisal to determine the exact value. Then we should make an appointment to see the other active listings around his home (which we never did) so we could get a feel for our competition but we never had come up with a definite price for the home. By the time he listed his home, the market had gone up quite a bit and was absolutely worth more than the day we met. I always do my best to provide the best possible service to all my clients. This situation is unfortunate since I only spent about an hour with him and never really provided my full services.

David is an amazing real estate agent. He is very passionate about real estate and finding the right fit for each of his clients. He taught us a lot so that we could make informed decisions every step of the way in trying to sell and buy a house. David is professional, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, punctual and extremely hard working. He is very good at what he does and if you work with David, you can rest assured that you are working with the best real estate agent in all of Utah! I don't know how he did it, as he had many clients at the time, but David made us feel like we were his most important clients; he was always available to answer questions (phone, text, email) or drive around to see more houses. He was extremely responsive and encouraging. When we put our house on the market David gave us great tips on getting the house ready to show and then provided colorful handouts and packets of useful neighborhood information for prospective buyers. Unfortunately we didn't get any offers on the house, but that is not a reflection on David and his expertise. He guided us every step of the way until we finally made the decision to rent the house. At that point he encouraged us and helped us to become landlords instead of lamenting that he didn't make a sale. That is just the sort of guy David Kevitch is.... he has an extremely good heart and honestly wants his clients to be happy and he will do whatever it takes. In the end we found the house of our dreams! David recommended a wonderful mortgage broker (Kara Robbins through Security National) to help make it happen. With David at the helm of the buying process we knew everything would be taken care of. He went through all the inspection items and seamlessly orchestrated all the seller requests. We didn't have to worry about a thing because David is so attentive and thorough. One bonus was the online document signing program he works through to facilitate and minimize the paperwork. I can't speak highly enough of David! He is an excellent real estate agent, and a great and caring person. He has our highest respect and recommendation.
