Mike came out and went around my yard with me explaining about each tree and what was happening to each (health-wise). He offered suggestions for planting trees and even a website to find that ideal tree. He was very well informed about Utah trees, soil conditions in Draper, and correct watering procedures. The quote was high (due to many trees on the property that needed help because the previous owners did nothing!) and he was happy to work on what was needed immediately and prioritized the items. UPDATE 2012: Decided to go with another tree company after they did a poor job trimming the trees in front.

The arborist/estimator was very helpful and informative during the initial visit. The work was scheduled and completed very promptly. While I was not present during the work, I was pleased with the end results. They were careful to clean up the site, leaving little sign that they had been there (except for the work results, of course!).

Atlas was very professional on the call but after engaging other arborists to bid, I concluded that the fungus was common in our neighborhood's shrub oak and not usually treated. These other company's could have told me to spray too and made money but they did not recommend it. Earlier in the year we had bids for pruning for under $800. We did it ourselves, so I was surprised by the dollar amount of this unrequested bid.

They came and did the job. They were okay with getting an extra branch I wanted them to get. Clean up went quite well.

The technician, Mike, seemed knowledgable and friendly. He arrived punctually, examined the trees and made an estimate. The only downside was that as he left, he promised the secretary would call and schedule an appt. for the work. This never happened, but several days later, Mike called to see it the work could be done that day. When I arrived home, the only indication that the work had been done was the trimmed trees. There was no mess whatsoever. My daughter was there when they arrived, and said they were very friendly and professional. I would definately call them again.

He gave me reasonable bids. He cleaned up after the work and was very professional.

Mike came on time (much appreciated) as promised to give me an estimate. His was several hundred dollars less than other bids I'd gotten for less work. Always wary of lower bids, but went with Angie's recommendations.Mike arranged for work to be done the following week and let me know when to expect his crew. Work was completed by the time I returned home that afternoon. No mess.Couldn't even tell they'd been there expect for trees which looked trim and fit. One small tree had been missed. But I called Mike and the job was done the next day. Good show all the way around. Tree work always seems to be expensive, but Atlas did a lot of work for a comparatively reasonable bid that's why I rated the price as "A."

Atlas sowed up within a few hours of my call and gave a good, complete estimate. The crew was there at the appointed hour, got to work, and had the whole tree down and cleaned up in what I considered to be record time. Great guys to work with and a very good job overall.

Prompt response in an emergency situation and followed through with getting the job done. I also ended up using them for tree spraying on 3 of my flowering plums. i rated them an A on everything but price which I gave them a B. The only reason I gave them a B is I did not shop around I think their price was fair and reasonable but have no comparisons. I had a globe willow taken out at my old home in West Jordan about 3 years ago and I ended up spending about 1,000 to take down the entire tree. With that said this globe willow at my new house is a much larger tree.

Overall, good quality work & good price but some aggravations along the way. Good quality work, but I NEVER HIRED THIS COMPANY TO DO THE WORK! About 2 weeks after receiving written bid, I left a message on a recorded line to call me about getting tree removed. Without calling me, Johnny cut down the tree. He forgot that I wanted the wood for firewood (which I told him when he gave me the bid) & gave it to my neighbors' contractor. Then had person who ground stump the next day bring the wood back to my yard. It is not cut to fit my fireplace, as he had agreed. Final statement included $14 landfill fee which was not on original bid. This company was the low bid, only 40% of Advantage Tree Service.
