Aspen Roofing

The roof over a small deck off my dining room had collapsed from the weight of snow a couple of years ago. The first engineer I had out was at a loss as to how to re-attach it and came up with a hideous design. This June I called Aspen Roofing to see if they new who to contract with to build a new roof. Aspen had put the main house roof on 5 years prior and I was very happy with them. My ridge roof is beautiful. I was surprised to find out that they had a general contractor, Jonathan Wallace, whom they sent out to give me an estimate to build a shed style roof over my existing 5 X 15 deck. Within a several days Jonathan had it engineered and had a building permit from The city of Bountiful to start construction. The crew was terrific and they did a superb job! The roof perfectly matches the existing home roof as does the siding, facia and soffit. It is really beautiful and even better than the original roof that had been over the deck. What a crew. Nice as can be, had the roof done in less than a week and cleaned up any debris so nothing was left for me to do but enjoy my new deck!I have in the past and would do so again, I recommend Aspen Roofing for all your needs, roofing, siding, repair or rebuild. Excellent planning. They were willing to go driving around our neighborhood and have us show them roofs we liked and give us the most similar they could find. The roofing job was excellent. When we needed the new skylights, we found there was a scratch at the lower end of one after installation and they were willing to come out and turn the skylight around and reinstall it, making the scratch out of our line of vision. Good work and good communication.

The repair went smoothly, although the wrong color of shingles were put on the truck and the repair man had to return the following day to finish the job. I am very satisfied.

The work was done through re roofing insurance. They were here pretty much on time when they said they were going to be. They were here everyday and completed the job within a reasonable amount of time. We had a leak problem, and they have fixed that quickly.

Aspen made a stressful situation go very smoothly and I would definitely use them again.

Ryan from Aspen roofing gave us a bid for recover, swamp cooler duct removal and flashing replacement. He came to the house to do the bid on the day expected and he arrived on time. The price was the highest of the several bids that we received. For this reason we went with a different contractor.

Everything seemed to go OK in the beginning. Then they discovered the roof had three layers to remove. This is an item they should have caught in making the bid. They charged extra to remove another layer that they missed. They were going to add the new insulation on top of the old. I stopped them and made them live up to the contract of removing the old insulation. Then the gutter guys installed a downspout that ended half way up the wall. I had to have them come back to replace it. Then one of the gutters leaked........ come back again to repair. Meanwhile the dumpster blocked out driveway for a week after they finished. Repeated phone calls to have it removed were ignored. It was frustrating dealing with them. After they removed the dumpster, we found lots of nails underneath. I tried cleaning up but ended getting two flat tires........ at night. Again, another phone call to have them come out and run the magnet sweeper to pick up nails. There are better companies who can do a better job, are more responsive and are interested in the customer. Since this initial review, the company has bent over backwards to make everything right for us. They have come out three times to correct the problem gutters and have apologized for the problems. ey hav Many neighbors and other roofing people have commented as to how the roof job is perfect. The chimney repair guys said that they have never seen a flashing job done so well. I would use Aspen roofing again and recommend them to others.

Never having lived in a home long enough to have to provide significant repairs or replacements, the process was new. Aspen, with Ash and Tony explaining the entire process, made the experience a good one. They explained each step they were taking, were patient in explaining what they saw or found, and they made sure that everything was done right. Each day they cleaned up the entire area, leaving no mess to deal with. The process took a little time because of storm activity, but nothing excessive. I would recommend Aspen to anyone who asked, because we are very satisfied.

I highly recommend them. We choose them because of there scores on Angies List and the work they did on a neighbors home. We could see that they were very professional from the work they did on our neighbors home. We have one of the best looking roofs in the neighborhood.

Aspen Roofing was very prompt and did a great job. I called three different roofing companies (including Ron Case and Kimball). Aspen Roofing gave me an estimate and completed the job before I even received an estimate from Kimball (many weeks later), and Ron Case never even gave me an estimate. Aspen was very good with client communications, returning my emails and phone calls very promptly to set up service as soon as possible.

Said they would take a satellite view of my roof and get back to me with an estimate. Satellite estimate. This is new. How can you get a good look at a roof via satellite. Well, it didn't matter. They never got back with me. I guess they didn't need or want my business.

I got a phone call on April 6th. They woman who answered said she never got an email until April 4th. She said she was sick on the 5th. I told them that because they did not contact me sooner that I would go with another company.

I am very happy with their work, their service and their guys.

Many of my shingles were blown off in the big wind storm we had in December 2011. I called many roofers when I discovered the damage. Ryan, from Aspen Roofing, was the ONLY one to return my call that day. He promptly got someone to my house to put on an emergency patch to keep everything secure until the insurance came through and the roof could be replaced. Because there were a lot of other roofs that needed fixing and because it was winter, and the weather was rather uncooperative, it took several weeks until a window of good weather opened up but Amy called me regularly to update me on the status. When they were finally able to get started on the project they had the whole thing done in 2 days. The asbestos removal was a big project but they kept everything clean and safe. Ryan came out a few days after the project was finished to inspect. The Aspen guys did such a great job. They were polite, easy to work with and efficient. I would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone in need of a roofer.

They gave me a quote which I accepted. I asked them to perform the work but they never came to do anything.

They were very thorough and kept in touch (since the weather was causing delays). The roofer in charge of the job, Russ, did an excellent job. He was always available by phone if I had any questions and even came out on a Sunday to look at some things I had concerns about. Their price was reasonable and my roof looks awesome. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay but they were efficient and relatively hassle-free. I'll definitely get a quote from them before having my roof replaced this spring.

They were really great about giving us an actual estimate. They had to remove a secondary roof. We also needed gutters and other things. It was for a flat roof with vinyl gutters and down sprouts. They came when they said they were going to. They walked around and seemed to be very knowledgeable. They got me their estimates when they said they were going to. They are good to work with and are reliable. We decided to get some other work done and did not do the roofing. We got three or four estimates and their quote was consistent with others. If we had gone ahead with the project, I would have used them.

I called Aspen Roofing to come and inspect my roof as I was having serious water leaks into my front windows in the winter. I had also lost several pieces of roof shingles in various wind storms. After inspecting my roof I was advised the turtle vents on my roof had been installed incorrectly and where placed too close to one another and the hot air from the attic was not venting out and my roof was essentially dried out and very brittle. He gave me 3 different solutions to my problem. The first being removing the current turtle vents, installing a roof ridge vent, removing approximately six feet of current roofing material where my leaks were occurring, put in 6 feet of ice/water shield, replace roof with same roofing material currently on my house. The second was all of the first with an addition of a Heat Tape system to eliminate ice dams in the winter. The third solution was to remove the entire existing roof, remove the existing turtle vents, install a roof ridge vent and installed an all new roofing system underlayment, ice/water shield and new roofing shingles. I did some investigating on my own regarding roof vents and how they should be installed and learned what the Aspen Roofing representative was telling me was correct. Because so much of my roofing shingles were dry and brittle and would continue to blow off I decided to go with solution 3, a completely new roof. My experience from the beginning with Aspen Roofing was very professional and informative. The crews that removed and replaced my roofing materials were very nice and answered my questions in a professional manner. They showed up on time and worked very long days. There was one problem in that the correct size of the roof ridge vent was not ordered and, at first, they were going to finish the installation a week later. I called the business office and spoke with the person in charge of scheduling crews and expressed my concern of leaving the roof unfinished as the weather report was for some strong winds that week. He was very understanding and wanted me to be completely satisfied, so he scheduled a crew for the next day when they would have the correct size roof ridge vent. I appreciated this very much. The crew that came were very nice and worked almost the entire day finishing the job. Part of the contract is that a dumpster was supplied for all trash, old shingles, etc. and each day the crews cleaned up around the house and put the trash in the dumpster. I was very pleased with the job they provided and am glad to have a better quality roof.

If you need this kind of work, USE THIS COMPANY! I had 5 estimates. Aspen and 2 others were very close to the same price. One was higher by $2000, the other was lower by $4000. Ryan was punctual, professional, and responsive. He answered every question I had, including buying recycled/ energy-efficient shingles. Weather changed plans a few times, but I was kept up to date by their very helpful, and pleasant Amy. The crews were hard working and clean. I'd been warned that a new roof was an extremely messy proposition. That was not the case with Aspen. At the end of each day my place was neater than I usually have it. My wife was even impressed ! Ryan just left after giving his final inspection. Everything is just right. I was pleased to get the discount he offered through Angie's List, but more pleased that I used Angie's List to find such a great company.

Called this company to get a quote for a full roof replacement. Company did not answer the phone on a Saturday, so my husband left a message to call his or my cell number so we could get a quote. Did not call us back. Have received other quotes, so will go with the company who called us back with a good quote.

I got three estimates and chose Aspen because their price was good and their Angie's recommendations were stellar. My salesman, Ryan Brady, explained the procedure, answered my questions, helped me choose the products, gave me literature and addresses of roofs they had done. I got samples to help me in choosing the right color. I signed the contract and they gave me a tentative start date of November 7. They were really busy and the jobs ahead of mine took longer to complete than they had estimated but I was kept informed. On November 25, a dumpster was placed in my driveway. Work started on November 29. Unfortunately, there were problems with the roofers. There were days when they didn't show up. They destroyed some plants. They scuffed up some fencing. They didn't clean the gutters, remove stains on the house, clean up the nails and roofing materials on the ground. They didn't reattach a gutter correctly or attach it to the downspout. And the roof looked awful. The edges were ragged and flashing between the house and patio was unpainted. I guess you could say that at that point, I hit the roof. Ryan Brady came out, listened to my complaints, and agreed that there were problems. He and another employee spent hours correcting them. My new roof now looks good. He gave me a discount so I can buy new plants in the spring and for the work I had done to clean the gutters. I've gained some perspective from this reroofing experience that I didn't have before. Watching the roofers working on my roof, and knowing that a roofer died recently on the job, has made me realize what a hard, dirty, and dangerous job it is. Roofers work in the cold and in the heat, and on a slope and high enough off the ground to be injured if they misstep. They have a ton of ancient wood, shingles, nails to scrape off and somehow get into the dumpster. So that tempers my irritation over the minor assaults to my property. And also because of this experience, I have thought about how crucial good employees are to a company's reputation and, when they sometimes fail to do a good job, how important it is that the owner steps in and makes it right. That's what happened here. For that reason, I would hire Aspen again, because Ryan Brady cares about his customers and he cares about the reputation of his company.

I picked this company due to its very high ratings on Angie's list. I had roof wind damage and gutter damage repaired. On the roof damage they did unapproved damage repairs and I agreed to pay it after the fact. The gutters when done were covered in Tar finger prints due to the workers not taking the time to wash their hands after working with the tar shingles. The front gutter had bare metal scratches which when I asked about the worker stated it was dirt and would wash off. The rear gutter leaked. When I scheduled a final inspection the lead did a no show. I called the company 30 minutes before the appointment and I was told he was going to a doctor’s appointment. I scheduled again for the next week. One half hour after the appointment time I called the company and was told he was again at the doctors. They came out to fix the discrepancies when I was not at home which was fine. When I called the company to get confirmation they had fixed all the things wrong I was told yes. I still have a leaking gutter.
