Description of Work: He came to run an extension line for a new stove. Took very little time, but at a large cost. The materials used were very inexpensive (my husband used to work for an electrical supply store so he knows). Nice person, but charged way too much for labor.

Description of Work: I have used Phil in the past for electrical work.He wired my shed for electric,installed a powered vent and put up a security light.I needed more outdoor outlets for Christmas lights and heat cables on the house,so he installed 6 outdoor recepticals.The meter and outdoor breaker box were also replaced.Phil has great ideas for things you may not know you needed or wanted.Recently he installed a security light near a recently added sliding door.The work was done professionally and looks great too.His prices are reasonable,he is prompt,reliable,,and does what he says he will do..You cannot go wrong by hiring him.

+ -1 morePhillip showed up on time, was very pleasant and professional. He went straight to where the issue started, figured it out and fixed it. Then spent time on a few other issues and when finding the ballests ok, took the old lights out for me to make installing the new ones easier. A great experience start to finish. I will be calling him again.
Description of Work: Checked an outlet that had quit working taking out all the power on that circuit which included the washing machine. He found a loose connection in the outlet and fixed it. He also trouble shot the washer error with me caused by the loose wire. Then he checked a couple of florecent lights to make sure the ballests were ok.

Description of Work: We loved Phillip! He was always very responsive -- called us back in a timely manner. He was very responsible and always showed up on time. He installed a new can light and added two new sconces. He also worked on the wiring for our new microwave and stove. He also changed out our light switches and outlets and added dimmers. We thought his prices were fair and he did great work.

+ 0 moreI phoned Phil and he was able to fit me in that afternoon to remove an old ceiling fan and install a new one. The installation was done carefully and is excellent. He did a thorough cleanup afterward. I have dogs so not having to hunt for little scraps of wire is important to me. He also explained why we had problems with our old fan. We also discussed some major work to be done on the supply lines coming into the house to bring it up to code. He was knowledgeable and explained the situation clearly.

Took the time to do the job right!

+ -1 moreLakeside did a great job actually performing the work, but I had a tough time getting them to submit the paperwork required for the loan I took out to pay for the work. This was a home improvement loan (203k), and granted, lakeside had to jump through a lot of hoops and submit a lot of paperwork for a relatively small job...but because of the delays on their part, I had to pay $400 for an extension on my closing date. I'm not too happy about that. They did a good job on the actual work, however.
Description of Work: Electric repair: secure loose wires, properly ground GFI outlets, insert switches into a circuit box, repair exposed live wires and dangerous outlets, install smoke detectors.

+ -1 moreIt was a big job and he did a very good job. I got my money's worth. He explained everything very well and I knew exactly what he was going to do. He checked all of his work after he was done to be sure it was working properly and cleaned up after himself in every room. After the project was complete I heard back from him regarding something that he had forgotten about. He came the next morning and took care of it.
Description of Work: They put extra lights in every room as the house is very dark. He also fixed a broken fan and installed a fan in the kitchen. I also had a TV that had been hit by lighting and since that happened he put a surge protector in the fuse box.

Description of Work: I had a malfunctioning outlet. I tried replacing it myself and it still didn't work. He came and spent about 1/2 hour at the home. It determined that the new plug that I had installed was faulty. He also removed a broken light bulb for me.

+ -1 morePhil did a good job. He came when he said he would and was on time. He got the job done quickly and thoroughly. He was accurate in his estimate of cost. He is skilled at stringing wire through finished ceiling with no damage or exploratory holes. I had wanted additional power outlets in several rooms and he was honest in telling me whether it could be done economically or not. I believe his charges to be fair. He is a pleasant young man and does not waste time on the job. I have now used him on two other occasions.
Description of Work: Phil installed 13 can lights in our finished family room soon to be surround sound theater. He installed two ceiling speakers that I had purchased separately. He had to string the TV cable through the ceilings from the outside cable box to the new location in the room. This house was built in 1976. He also installed several light switches and power outlets in other rooms.
