We had a whole circuit in our house stop working. This meant a whole bedroom with no power. Phil came out promptly to our rescue. What we feared was going to be a very expensive fix due to our outdated electric panel was turned into a $95 fix. Phil was able to quickly trouble shoot the problem (a disconnected outlet), and get our power working again. He was also able to give a bid to fix our outdated electrical systems without putting any sales pressure on. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend to my friends and family, and would use this company again.

Phil was amazing! I called him and he came out that day and did the work. He was quick and professional. He also wanted to make sure we had a plan for the island we were putting in and outlets for the microwave and stove. We will definitely use him again when needed!

Phillip gave us a free estimate of the work we wanted done-he was prompt, polite and fully explained what he would do to accomplish the task. Phillip took the extra time required to figure out how to install the heat cable (and the power running to it) so that our home would look nice. He made a few suggestions and then allowed us to choose what we wanted. This project turned out great and I would highly recommend Phillip to everyone who needs an electrician. Phillip completed the work on our house as if he was working on HIS home-that type of craftsmanship, care and attention to detail is very rare these days.
Description of Work: Installed all parts and labor for heat cable on roof (which included power hookup to existing box) and installed surge protector.

Communication was good. He got in touch with me within a day and scheduled for the work to be done. He arrived on-time and performed the requested services. The installation of the surge protector went smoothly and was completed in about an hour. Phillip was professional and courteous. I would hire him again in the future.

I appreciated the fact that he came the same evening because he wanted to take care of his customers before leaving for Spring break with his family. He was happy to take care of the extra problem even at the late hour.
Description of Work: He fixed an exposed 240 wire coming out of the main box. He put up a new ceiling fixture and opened another ceiling fixture that had been frozen for a long time. I called him Fri. and he came out that night and performed the work in a professional manner and was very personable. I would use him again and recommend him to my friends. He charged a fair price.

We had two electricians come out to do bids on the electrical work that needed to be completed in our kitchen. The other bid was almost double what Phillip bid us. Phillip was fantastic! He was able to complete all the code upgrades in out kitchen in just a couple of hours. When a unexpected wire popped up behind our cabinets, he quickly found where it led and suggested installing a sink light as it was already wired for it. He came back a couple of days later to complete the work. We would definitely use him again, and recommend him to anyone.

We called Phillip this morning and he made time to come over this afternoon. He quickly understood the circuit in question and was able to wire our new bathroom vent fan with no problem. Then, he took his time in our garage, explaining safety hazards and possible fixes. He gave us a rough quote on site. We will contact him later if we choose to have the work done by him. Phillip was polite and informative and even took some time to acknowledge our children, who wanted his attention. We would be happy to have him do work for us in the future.

I had an outside light that was photo able tech and it quit working so I knew the power was connected to someplace on the side of the house. So the owner came out and looked inside the light thinking that because I had extensive yard work done the year before they had not done the connection correctly. He pulled out the receptacle which has the GFI and he tightened some nuts around that and he put it back in. After he did that my light started working.

I was hoping the $150 we had would at least cover fixing the furnace, but left a list of other electrical issues as a kind of "wish list". Phillip was able to address all of our electrical issues within our budget, we were so pleased! He was on-time, quick and tidy. This is in contrast to the company who installed our furnace and had to come out three times (and not fix a thing) before deciding they were unable to fix the electrical issue. Also, those (nameless) hvac guys leave a huge mess. Not Phillip. We decided we like owner-operated small businesses, and will be looking for them here on Angie's List.
Description of Work: We have old knob & tube electrical, and as we were upgrading fixtures we came across a handful of issues we couldn't fix on our own. We were making do without them (porch light, random sockets not working...) but then our furnace went out and we were told it was an electrical issue. So we decided to hire an electrician and see how much we could get done with a limited budget.

Fuse kept popping in the electric panel, and we figured out that the family room and basement outlets were on the same 15 amp fuse. Called Phillip on a Friday, and he came out on Monday, after I called to remind him that he said he'd be here first thing Monday morning, since he couldn't make it on Friday. Took him less than ten minutes to identify the problem...steam humidifier installer rerouted what was previously two separate fuses to one. He relocated some of the connections in the panel and added a twin fuse (two switches) into one slot. Done in less than an hour. Glad its done. Will use his services again if needed.

We did play phone tag for a while but when I got Philip's bid it was way less than the other two bids so I decided to use him. I don't always go with the lowest bid, but I am glad I did. He did a great job. He arrived early and got the job done in about 2 1/2 hours.

Phoned him in the morning and he said he'd swing by in the afternoon. Everything went according to plan -- he was on time, didn't get lost, phoned ahead to say he was on the way. My husband thought maybe his recent installation of a 3-way switch nearby had somehow caused the problem. Phil investigated everything, all electrical outlets anywhere near the problem, smoke alarm, can lights, you name it. He made two separate trips to the attic, crawled through insulation, and finally found something that had been poorly done and had come apart. (You can tell how technical I am!) He was methodical, thorough, punctual, personable, and professional.
Description of Work: We had a wall plug that wouldn't work, behind our flat-screen TV hanging high on the wall. He did a lot of trouble-shooting and found the problem and fixed it.

Phil is a great person to work with. He is very personable and is definitely concerned about providing great service at a reasonable price. Phil was on time for both appointments and provided valuable feedback on other items I should be concerned about as he inspected various electrical components in my 1950's house. Phil provided suggestions as to how to proceed when I presented him with some questions I had regarding electrical wiring and the grounding of the house. Phil went above and beyond and I would highly recommend him to others who are looking for electrical work to be done in their house.
Description of Work: Verified multiple items in a newly renovated house including sub-panel and circuit breakers. In addition, grounded house, upgraded outlets to GFI, installed several cover plates, installed dimmers, verified all outlet connection wiring up to code.

After a quick check of the circuitry involved, Phil discovered that the breaker associated with the hot tub had tripped - has happened before but did not affect any other circuit. He checked all the other GFIs associated with the patio/outside circuit and replaced a bad GFI on the opposite side of the house. Phil had done electrical work for us before, and I did not hesitate to call him for this problem.

We called Lakeside Electric on a Sat, hoping to get on the schedule for Monday. We decided to call Lakeside because of the reviews on Angie's list and he was local. We had never needed an electrician before. Phillip called us back within a hour after we left the voice mail on Sat. and did schedule a time to come out on Monday. Phillip was on time, fix the problem within 15 minutes plus explained why the outlets had stop working. Then Phillip also checked out the main breaker box and found that one of the AC wires was not completely in the breaker. Phillip was professional, friendly and on time. I had him give me bids for future projects.

When we reported a power outage at our house, the electric company told me to cycle the main breaker, off then on, to see if that would restore service. It didn't. The whole neighborhood was blacked out. Our power was restored over 12 hours later. But cycling the main breaker earlier in the day apparently broke it. Help! I consulted the Angie's List website that night to find an electrician, then I phoned Phil at Lakeside Electric the next morning. He had other service calls to make for a few hours, but would get to our problem after that. He suggested that we use a long extension cord to get power from our next door neighbor to keep our refrigerator going. Good advice! We did that. He had me photograph the breaker and send the photo to his smartphone. The breaker was of an ancient design. He went to four electrical supply stores before finding what appeared to be the right breaker. But even there, it was uncertain whether this was exactly the right model. So he had me remove the face plate of the switch box and photograph the internal circuitry and label. When I sent him that photo, he and the store clerk agreed that they had identified the right breaker. So he bought the breaker for $327.50 (ouch!). He removed our old breaker, determined that it was indeed broken, and installed the new breaker. It worked. Then he went to the circuit breaker board inside our house and checked and tightened all of the circuit breakers. Phil knows his business, he solved my problem, and he gave me the senior citizen discount. I'm pleased.
