"They say that pictures are worth a thousand words. I could tell you how once Aaron Capello (the salesman) took our bid, and our money, we never heard from him again. I could tell you how a quoted 6-week bid turned into an almost 6-month job. (The bid was for 4-6 weeks out. The fence was installed 6 months later) I could tell you how Brie, the "scheduler" was put in charge of our job and contacted my mom once; every other time we had to call her. I could tell you that the job boss rescheduled multiple times, and never showed up on the days he said that he would. I could tell you how we ordered and paid for, REINFORCED Vinyl, as the fence is bordering a horse pasture, yet what was installed is a cheap material and feels like if a strong wind comes along it will blow it over, and there is absolutely ZERO reinforcement. I could tell you how the custom gate, which we spent extra to have built, is not reinforced, has some flimsy piece of vinyl across the backside that is only decorative and NOT reinforcing, and that the gate itself only needs a little pressure and it's already coming apart. I could tell you how the End post that was installed for the existing chainlink fence is NOT an end post, but a center post, and still does not have a top on it. Or how said post is not attached to the vinyl fence. Or how the workers failed to stretch the existing chainlink fence so that it sags. I could tell you how neither the gate nor the fence is LEVEL. I could tell you how NO ONE has come back out to the property to look at the fence after we notified them of all the issues. (Now over a month later) Or, I could just post pictures and you can decide. (You can view photos here: Read Kim C.'s review of Best Vinyl Fence & Deck on Yelp) I would NOT recommend this company to anyone."

"We decided to hire Accent painting because they had great reviews, that was a mistake. I scheduled with Josh to start on December 9 2024, he said they would take down light fixtures, towel bars and door hinges and fix any holes smaller then a quarter. I emailed Josh on December 5th to find out what time we needed to meet the painters on 12/9/2024, no response. I called Josh 12/6/2024 and left a message, no response. Sunday 12/8/2024 i decided to text Josh, he responded 3 hours later he said it would be Tuesday or Wednesday before they could start. I told him that the painting had to be done by 12/16/24 that we have carpet being installed. Josh said they would reach out to me tomorrow (12/9/24). They called and said they would start on Tuesday. The painters arrived on Tuesday to start. They finished on Saturday, they said to put blue tape on what needed to be fixed. There was not enough blue tape to fix the issues! They did not patch any holes and did not do any of the things I was told would be done. They said they had covered the lights before they filled holes and did not see them. We scheduled for them to come back on 12/23/24 to fix holes and do touch ups. On Monday the 23rd they came to fix the issues, they did not cover our brand new carpet or flooring. I was asking why the flooring was not covered, they did not speak English. I had paint on the carpet and flooring, at this point I am so p*****. They did not know the difference between semigloss and high gloss paint. They then rolled the area's that had to be fixed. In the end this is not a professional paint job. I will not recommend them."

"I had a bad computer board in my oven. they said they would not cover it because they found a roach. This is Florida we have some roaches. i do not have a bug problem. It has nothing to do with a bad computer board. This company looks for a way to deny claims. i had one other claim and they tried to deny it as well. Save yourself some agravation and stay away. They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

"Really Good job"

"I hired Scott on August 17, 2018 to do some minor electrical, plumbing and some sheet rock repair in preparation for some kitchen cabinets being installed. I made it clear that the time to complete the project was very important because the cabinets had already been purchased and were waiting at Lowes for installation. He assured me that he could complete the job in just a few days and asked for a deposit of $300.00 to start. I wrote the check and asked him to start asap. (the check was cashed that same afternoon). He said he would like to get an early start, and we agreed that he would be at my house the next morning at 8:00am (the whole household had to get up early to accommodate this schedule) He never showed up until about 9:15 am. He said he had to take his daughter to work. He only worked until 10:15 am and then had to leave for the day. He said that he could not return until Tuesday morning because he had prior commitments. I texted him Monday night just to make sure he would be there on Tuesday. He indicated that he would be there at 8:30 am. He showed up at 9:15 am and worked for about 45 mins and left. He told me that he had to take one of his children to the Instacare. And then he had to go to Park City for something and asked if he could stop by on his way back around 9pm, just to go over what I wanted. (I had already giving him plans for the whole job). At 9pm he texted me and said something came up in Park City and he was just leaving. He still had to pick up his wife in Salt Lake City and then he would be at my house. That was at least 1 ½ hours of travel time. I told him it would be too late. He promised he would have the whole day Wednesday and would be at my house by 10am. He texted me on Wednesday at noon and said he was on his way. I called him at 1:30 wondering where he was AGAIN and left a message (he never answers his phone). He texted back again saying he was on his way. He got to my house about 2:00 and finally worked for a few hours (till 5:30). He texted me at 2:00 saying he was up at the University and was on his way to me. An hour later he texted again saying his car was over heating…… got to my house at almost 5pm. I sent him away. I guess he gets to keep the $300 dollars I gave him….. He had worked a total of maybe 5-6 hours. (Only really did about 1 ½ hours’ worth of work). My son had to redo most of what he did because it was not done right. By this time my son had taken the 1 ½ days off and had finished the whole project."

Fence Painting questions, answered by experts

If you’re deciding between limewash versus whitewash, know that both have a chalky matte appearance. Limewash is made from lime, water, and sometimes pigment, while whitewash consists of lime, water, white chalk, and binders (though you can get a similar look with watered-down white paint). Whitewash has fewer options for color customization, and it sits on surfaces instead of being absorbed into them, which can trap moisture. Whitewashing costs less—about $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

You should stain both sides of your fence to get the full benefits. Fences often fall along property lines, so you may want to save a buck by leaving your neighbor’s side in the dust. If you do that, all you get is a slightly better view. Moisture and UV rays can still sneak in through the side that’s unpainted or worn down and damage your fence. Rot and rust will spread, even if you can’t see it from your side of the lawn.

Yes, you can paint galvanized chain link, but the process is a bit more difficult as it requires additional prep work. Before applying the primer and paint, you must remove the original coating from the metal, which can be time-consuming. If the original coating is not removed, the primer and paint will not bond properly and cause peeling over time.

Select based on wood type, climate tolerance, and personal preference for color and finish, with choices like oil-based stains for longevity.
