I called to schedule an appointment. The appointment was scheduled within a few days. The plumber arrived during the period of time he was scheduled to arrive. He quickly identified the problem. He seemed honest and I didn't feel like he was asking me to do extra work that wasn't necessary to resolve the problem. He was polite and professional. He completed the work fairly quickly. The price was reasonable. I would use the company again.

Other than a small mix up on the time they were suppose to arrive, I would highly recommend this company. Everything was explained in advanced and a price quoted up front. Was very professional and friendly and will use again in the future.

The work that they were going to do was going to be over $200.00. The trip charge covered the big deal.

Purchased $100 worth of services for $39. When technician arrived he said it would be an additional $450 to replace two toilet valves. Unfortunately, I needed the work done that day and had to pay. Would NEVER use again!

I bought a coupon from Angie's list. Took a few calls to make appt. Young man was a few minutes late but called. He got started to work (had a few telephone calls while he was working) which took him probably a little bit longer but did a good job and would use them again. He was very polite and explained what needed to be done. Can't remember if he told me what the total might be but I was taken back alittle at the end price plus the Angie's list coupon. The job needed to be done.

They showed up 15 minutes early and worked diligently until the job was completed. When they arrived they already had the city permit in hand. After the work was completed, they arranged to have the city inspector inspect their work which passed with no problem. I am very happy with the work that was performed. Dustin was very professional and listened to and answered any questions that I had. He and his helper worked hard the entire time they were here. I would use Harvey West Plumbing again. The installation looked very good. I asked Dustin if he could run the water heater drain line to the exterior wall without having to drill through the brick and he was able to run the end of the pipe through an adjacent air vent. He cut a nice square hole through the vent cover where the pipe exited the outside wall and made it look very clean. Overall the experience was seamless from when I contacted their office through arranging of the city inspection

They replaced my water heater.

1st time: Intermittently we could smell gas coming from the gas log fireplace. We decide to buy the remote control box so that we could turn the fireplace on and off from our chair. We also got one of the boxes that you could also make the flames higher or lower. We wanted the convenience of the fireplace and to function by heating up the living room. I called Harvey West Plumbing and actually talked with one of the owners who had installed hundreds of fireplace gas logs. I told him what I wanted and asked him what I needed in order for him to complete the work. I went online to buy the remote box and then called Harvey West Plumbing to come back out and install the box. John promptly came out and we talked at length about what I wanted and how the box functioned before he put it in. We found out that the key that turns the gas on/off had broken off and he was able to wiggle the old one out and we could completely turn off the gas so we didn't have a leak after all. Then he proceeded to install the box and once that was completed went over everything with me and showed me how it functioned. I was very happy with his work. That night I turned on the fireplace with the remote control and may have hit one of the buttons by accident and I could not get it to turn off. I used the key to turn off the gas but the box kept beeping and so I had to turn the box off as well. I called John and we scheduled a time for the next day to come back out and look at it. Once we determined that I had pushed a wrong button and the pilot light was on continually, he showed me how to turn that off and we tested it all out thoroughly and it worked fine...it turned on and off the way that it should have. We've enjoyed the fireplace so much more with this remote control unit installed. 2nd time: I knew the hot water tank was getting old but 9 years didn't seem long enough for it to go out but I could tell that it was. I was hoping it was next year rather than right here before Christmas but what can you do when it goes out. This was a Saturday and I called and talked with someone and they sent out Dustin about an hour later. In the meantime, I went out to their website to look at my options of hot water tanks and an approximate cost. Dustin was very through in explaining to me exactly what he needed to do. The sticker shock though with all the City permits and things we had to do in order to bring it up to code was so much more than I wanted to spend. I went ahead and took the plunge to get the best model they had with a 12 year warranty. I was just so impressed with Dustin and his knowledge of what needed to be done. He cleaned up his mess and made sure everything was in order. We had to discuss some of the codes for the city since we had to pipe through the outside wall and he was very accommodating to my wishes but also making sure it was up to the code. I was very pleased with his work. The next day Harvey West called to schedule the City to come and inspect his work. The city worker who came looked like he had been in the business for a very long time and proceeded to explain to me in detail why the inspection had failed. I called Harvey West back to explain what he had said and they sent out a guy the next day to fix the issue which was minor and when the city inspector came back out, it passed. I was really happy that Harvey West Plumbing does the right thing and fixes items they had missed but also that they took the time to get the permits and had the city to inspect. I feel so much safer knowing that its been done right!

The job quoted was five times higher that what they originally quoted me over the phone and they said that the $39 was just for the estimate. He was very rude to my wife, and would not give any type of explanation as to why the price was so high.

They were extremely responsive in setting up the appointment and very punctual. The staff was very knowledgeable about water heater and even gave us a great idea to put in a water sensor in the closet with the water heater in case a slow leak developed. We were pleased with their service. The whole appointment took about an hour.

After reviewing the refrences on Angie's list and calling several plumbers, I selected Harvey West Plumbing to perform the work. I purchased their coupon ($39 for $100 worth of plumbing work). The person who took my initial call was very helpful in providing information and schedled an appointment to perfectly fit my needs. She explained how the on-line quote and invociing method they used would allow me to see and approve everything even though I was not going to be at the house when the plumber arrived (a friend was available to let them in for me). Dustin arrived in the 30 minute window specified, was professional and understanding as I worked through my initial shock of how expensive the repair would be :). He sent me a picture of the broken flange - something I never even knew existed under a toilet, explained that it was a somewhat complex repair and the brass flange itself would have to be replaced. Once I worked through the expense shock, and approved the work, he went quickly about getting the necessary parts, explaining what would be done, and making the repair. He also did a visual inspection of the plumbing in the house - including the water heater) and thankfully found no additional immediate issues - although I havea couple of faucets that I would like to replace, and will likely use Harvey West Plumbing for this when I can save up enough money to do it. The toilet is rock solid now and back to working properly,

My air conditioner drain pan was filling up indicating a clog somewhere. Harvey Wesy plummers came and found the clog and fixed in quickly. They also showed me the common location for this kind of clog so I can fix it myself in the future. Great service!

We recently moved into a house in Collin County and discovered that two of our three outside hose bibs were dripping. When the drip turned into a stream, we were desperately in need of a new plumber. After finding good reviews on Angie's List, we purchased a $39 coupon for $100 of plumbing services from Harvey West Plumbing and immediately called for an appointment. They were able to respond within two days, and arrived promptly at the appointment time. After looking at the problem on only one of the hose bibs, the technician quoted a fixed rate of slightly more than $700 to replace the two faucets, stating that in his company's experience it was not cost effective to attempt a repair. We felt the quote was too high and declined their service, but they were kind enough to accept the coupon we had purchased to cover the cost of the service call and estimate. We were asked to sign their estimate in the same place where it said we were authorizing the repair, which we felt was unusual. Instead, we called a plumber we had formerly used in Dallas County and asked if they would be willing to travel to our new location. They stated they would have to charge a travel premium, but could respond the next morning. After checking both hose bibs, they concurred that replacement was better than an attempt at repair, and suggested that we replace all three of the faucets to prevent future problems. The cost for the replacement for all three frost free hose bibs based on actual labor and parts (including the out-of-area service charge) was $300. In retrospect, I wish we had asked more questions over the phone, and we could have avoided that first service call. While fixed rate pricing may work in some instances, we would have paid double the actual cost of this repair. We cannot speak to the quality of work for Harvey West Plumbing, but based on other reviews, feel sure they do excellent work. It was just their pricing structure that did not work for us.

The whole experience with the technician, Dustin, was excellent. He was always on time, wore booties into the house to keep my floors clean, and even cleaned up in the bathroom after the toilet overflowed, which I've NEVER seen any plumber do! The only cons I have are regarding the company's availability and prices. The company will not schedule anything before 8am, after 4pm, or on weekends. I live in Carrollton, and for both of my visits (they had to come out again because my toilet clogged again), the dispatched said that because I live on the other side of town, they leave Carrollton-area calls until the end of the day or until the Wylie-area calls are finished, whichever comes first. I suppose this comes with the territory when dealing with a smaller company. The prices are pretty....well, pricy, but that's plumbing I guess.

My experience with Harvey West Plumbing was excellent. They were professional, courteous and on time. I had a short time period to have the new toilets installed and they came out within that time. I called hoping to have them come out sometime the same week and they came out the same day.

John promptly returned my phione call on a Saturday and gave me a good ballpark estimate over the phone. On Monday, Leo came to give formal estimate. I had to speak to Harvey a couple of times but I was satisfied that I was paying fair price. Harvey's a little bit grumpy but well meaning. Leo was very professional and affable. Because Harvey (understandably) insisted that I install a walkway in my attic, Leo was good enough to re-route a water pipe to stop the water heater leak until I could have my contractor install the walkway a few days later. I will use Harvey West again, especially if Leo's the one working on my house.

I used Harvey West Plumbing because i bought a Living Social coupon for $39.00 for $100 worth of services. The bill today for services was $226.76. After the $100 credit, I paid $126.76 today. Add in the $39 for the coupon and the total amount I paid was $165.76. That was for 15 minutes of work. The work I needed was to fix a sink in the master bath that was draining slow and also a leak in the other sink in the master bath. The leak was not a big deal at all---something just had to be tightened. For the slow draining sink, he cleaned out the hair in the stopper and used a hand auger for the rest. No getting on roof. Nothing special. Granted, it's something neither I nor my husband can do (don't have the tool for one thing; plus, we're not very handy.) But, it just seems quite excessive to charge $226.76 for 15 minutes. We've had this drain cleaned out before--I need to find my old receipts for other plumbers and compare the price. But, I do believe this is more than I've paid before. I will say that the person who handled the call was very nice and I liked the fact that everything was electronic and he sent me the invoice to my email address. The sinks appears to be working well. My complaint is with the price. I really thought that having a Living Social coupon for $100 would have covered this particular service. Kinda feeling like I got taken advantage of with the whole coupon thing. I would definitely not have been happy if I paid the entire $226.76 for the service, but $165.76 was a little high I think.

John came and did a wonderful job replacing the water heater!! We were so glad he did cause we had had major water damage 10 years ago and had forgotten to even stay on top of replacing it!! We had every gadget put on it this time around to make sure we don't have another event! Thanks John, we will always remember you guys when we need another plumber!!

My tenant contacted me regarding the water heater leaking water. I contacted Harvey Plumbing in the afternoon on August 1. I spoke to Kathy and described the problem. Kathy was very polite and pleasant. She explained their services and fees and immediately scheduled an appointment for the same day. When Mike arrived, he was very efficient, knowledgeable and polite. He turned the water off and the power from the breaker box. The new water heater was ordered and scheduled for delivery and installation the next day August 2. One August 2, Leo installed the water heater, replaced the emergency shutoff valve and flex lines. He was very efficient, knowledgeable and polite. He checked the water heater to ensure that it met building code inspection by the city of Dallas. A plumbing permit was acquired by Harvey Plumbing prior to performing the installation. Upon completion of the installation, an appointment was scheduled by Harvey Plumbing for city inspection of the water heater. Harvey Plumbing is an awesome company! The concern and outstanding customer service provided by this company is very difficult to find. Their prices are very fair and reasonable. I was fortunate to be able to purchase a coupon for $39.00 for $100.00 of plumbing services. This made the cost of the repair an awesome deal. Kathy explained the invoicing and charges and sent the invoice, building inspection information and receipt to me immediately upon completion of the service call. She made this a very enjoyable experience. I will use Harvey Plumbing for all of my future plumbing needs.

I had a strange experience with this contractor that ranged from excellent to terrible as outlined below. I had a small leak (water heater was functioning but needed replacement at some time in near future) PROS: - Same-day install when I called (at 11am, product installed by 4pm). Not necessary in my case but grateful. - Gave me a competitive rate on a 50 gallon, when I requested a 40 gallon. (again wasn't necessary but am grateful) - Showed up on time (WOW, a first for any service provider haha) - Dustin was VERY personable and customer oriented CONS - Did not disclose the true pricing PRIOR to agreement of services (raised price after services were already performed) - Owner was unable to provide "ALL IN" pricing on phone which made comparison to other providers difficult - Did not call or email with approximate time the City Inspector would arrive. I called about 5 different companies, at first it appeared that Harvey West plumbing had the best overall value both in price and product. Strangely, the other 4 were able to quote me "all inclusive" prices (AFTER-tax totals, including permit, service fee, product costs, cost to upgrade, etc). As discussed on the phone, I had upgrade costs to meet current city restrictions (new gas line / shutoff valve, drip pan, etc). I was told that the unit cost began at $799, drip pan $125, and permit $80 and rest was included and "would be discussed when technicians arrive". Knowing it would be a little extra for taxes, I estimated around $1200 which was below all other "ALL INCLUSIVE" prices quoted which ranged from $1300-1600 from other providers. The initial total quote they gave me BEFORE SERVICE was $1279.87, which I thought was great, so based on the price, I went with them, signed the contract, all seemed good. AFTER FINISHING the service, they said "sorry we forgot some items" on the original quote, which is when they bumped the total invoice up to $1434, which is at least $134 more than the next lowest all-inclusive competitor price. I would have chosen another provider had I known what the true price would be. I have both quotes in email currently, I don't appear to be able to attach here for demonstration. Items "forgotten" on the estimate were pricing for permit $80, and drip pan $125 (also $(50) Angies List discount which brought price down). None of these items should have been a "surprise." If they were more accurate with pricing, I would have to give them an A....however I feel like I was spun around more times than not with various quotes and separate pricing that I am left with an overall negative impression. If you go with them as a provider, PROTECT YOURSELF by calling the head office after the technicians give you a quote and audit the proposal to the letter! Once they perform services, I don't see what recourse we as customers have to deny charges.

It was fine - I've never had a water heater serviced before, so I have nothing to compare to. They tested our water, which we knew wasn't perfect, but we've lived with it this long, so no changes necessary. We declined additional services.

I call this service provider and they were able to come out the same day! Two technicians arrived at 10AM to look at the existing water heater and gas lines. I explained that I was selling the house and needed a basic 50gallon water heater to replace the existing one, which was old and not within Dallas code. They provided a price which was competitive and explained the installation requirements for the new water heat under Dallas code. They also explained the timing of how long they would take. John P provided me a quote on spot with him Ipad for the entire scope and review everything with me. Both technicians were very professional and completed a clean install in the timeframe they quoted. I was very please with their responsiveness, pricing and professionalism. I would recommend this company to others on Angie's and friend as they did a great job!
