Harvey West Plumbing

Do not use this company. We bought a fixer upper and got taken advantage of by this company. They charged $5000 for: repair the drain pipe from the toilet upstairs, fix 3 leaks (bathroom shower, both bathroom sinks), install/move the washer dryer to inside from the garage, and add the water heater pan drain pipe that was missing. Detailed list of issues: -water heater drain pipe was put on the outside of the house because "it's more expensive and difficult to go through the walls" (half of which were already open and we have since opened the rest of them anyway) We ended up paying a handyman to replace the pipe Harvey West installed and put it inside the walls so it's not an eyesore. This took the handyman about an hour. -Not sure if they did this, but they definitely should have mentioned it when they saw it if they weren't the ones who did it because they were working right there. We found a flexible stainless steel hose connecting the copper pipe under our sink where they had repaired a leak. Our friend (a general contractor) let us know that that is improper for anything that is pressurized inside of walls and would cause many issues. So we had to replace that. -Our washer dryer lines were done using PEX piping. They placed these flexible pipes RIGHT in front of/on the single access hole for the attic, so we have to make sure to move them and step over them when we enter our only attic space that we can use for storage. -We are now replacing the entire toilet drain line because most of it is cast iron and would just rust through soon enough anyway. A good plumber/handyman will tell you this kind of thing when you have a bunch of walls open. -$$$ Everyone that we've talked to since we hired this company has scoffed at the price. And I have to agree. The quality of work that was done in comparison with the price that we paid (we didn't know better at the time) is pitiful. There was some spots where we were supposed to call them back to put the finishes in. I do not trust them enough to call them again to simply reattach the sink to the pipes. -The master plumber kept going to his shop for like 45 minutes at a time (it's only about 8 minutes drive from our house) several times a day while the people he seemed to have hired for the day did most of the work. -They did not clean up before they left and they left blue pipe glue on the tile and walls in the bathroom. Summary: Save your money. Call a handyman or literally any other plumber. *I'll try to add pictures later when I find them so you can see the work I'm talking about.

Ne bever showed up, I even tried calling him but no answer. He was supposed to arrive between 10:30 & 12 noon CST. He wasted my whole day. DO NOT HIRE this company

Paid $350.00 for the job First effort at replacing parts in the tank did not fix problem..Had to order the special kohler cone to fix it .Waited a few days and finally got it. It works fine now..I would ALWAYS recommend getting at least one more bid before doing any job. I didn't here to my regret.

It wasn't more of the price, it was more of the execution. They didn't seem very knowledgeable. I had a Kohler faucet installed, and they didn't seem very knowledgeable. They were responsive, the work was quality, but they had to come out many times, many, many, times for this job. They didn't seem like they did the research. They didn't do the research such as this is what needs to be installed, this is how it needs to be installed. They didn't do it, so it was a bunch of screw ups, recommending the wrong parts. So, it ended up being a lot more expensive job for me not from a labor standpoint, but from in parts. The job should have been two days, one day, you know it ended up being a little over a month back and forth. The quality of work was good, the pricing wasn't bad, but they just did not do the research. They were nice, very cordial. They were responsive, they came out, many times. They did a good job on responsiveness and punctuality; they just didn't do the research. It was a more complex job and as a professional plumber you should know and do the research for it.

It was expensive. They are very good.

Excellent. Larry came out st 9 and got right to work. Brought wrong size overflow tray so had to go get the right size. Always impressed with Harvey West Plumbing.

Nothing needs to be said about Harvey West. They are quite simply the best in Dallas. I am a real estate investor, and I need plumbing services at several properties. I would never use anyone but Harvey West.

The plumber who showed up wanted to disassemble the garbage disposal and had quoted my wife $250. I talked to him and explained where the clog was and what needed to be done to snake it and where the access was in the garage. He disagreed with me and I explained what I did the night before and how I knew where the clog was. Still disappointed in the overall charge since I had to tell him what to do and he spent 15 minutes on the phone in our driveway and charged us for an hour, when snaking a drain should be a half hour call.

They came out originally on Dec29 to access the problem and order the part. They then came out on the 4th of Jan to replace the part. After replacing the part the faucet continued to drip and now the shower head was also dripping because they had taken it apart to fix one problem and created another one. They came out again on 01/05/16 and were suppose to now fix both faucets that were dripping. While the person was here I asked if he had fixed the problem why is it continuing to drip. He explained to me that there was still water in the head that needed to drain itself out which is not true because it was still dripping the next day. I then called the company back on 01/06/16 and explained that the original problem had not been fixed and now I have two leaking faucets when i initially only had one. The manager began to get rude with me telling me that if they came back out they were going to charge more money for another visit. He began yelling at me which I believe is very unprofessional of a company with such good ratings on Angie's List.

They told me what the cost would be to fix it and I told them to go ahead and as it needed to be done. They did a great job! I've used Harvey West Plumbing for the last two years and each time I've had them out, I've been very pleased with the work they have done for me. They are very professional, experienced, courteous and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Thanks and keep up the great work you do! Very satisfied customer.

Work went very well. Leo and Brandon were very professional and careful to cover shoes so as not to track dirt into the house.

A plumber from Harvey came out to my home to repair the water faucet in the front of my home. He had to remove a little section of the brick around the faucet, install a brand new faucet, and replace the surrounding faucet with mortar. He was very punctual, professional, and explain the process so I would understand what all was happening. Very kind and caring business I would recommend to a friend.

Two guys showed up, professional looking (uniform, introduction, shoe protection) end after looking at toilet bawl asked if I have a coupon from Angies list. After my confirmation, I was emailed estimate of $240+ for fixing toilet bowl + offered bunch of other services/warranty I didn't ask for. He tried to negotiate price if I buy additional services. My question was about approximate time needed: 2-3 hours (according to his professional knowledge, everything but toilet bowl had to be replaced and that was the only way they will perform the service) Quick Google search about similar services and quote was between $108 - $245. I didn't accept the estimate and he asked for service call (trip charge) to be paid. He did accept my coupon ($100 worth - paid $20 through Angies list) as method of payment. Note: Called another plumber - free estimate - after 20 min's of work - no leak. Price: parts ($7.99) and labor - total < $75!!!

I thought I was getting a good deal with paying $20 for $100 of service for this and was shocked that I had to fork out another $111. Their normal service prices are very expensive and I will never use them again. I feel like I was tricked.

They have not done any work yet. They came out. It was good. They were professional. I had no complaints. They seemed to be a little bit more pricey than other people.

Their service is too much expensive: repairing a dripping faucet (Only a washer replacement) will cost around $350. We paid them $40 for their visiting and sent the technician back.

It went fine. What stood out was mainly the price. They did good work.
