Harvey West Plumbing

I purchased a deal for $20 for $100 worth of plumbing and contacted Harvey West to apply it towards flushing two water heaters in my garage. They were able to accommodate my schedule and called in advance to let me know when they were within 20 minutes of the house. They showed me the reasonable amount of sediment that came out of both water heaters (a relief since I don't think the previous owners had ever had the service done!) and offered a premium service package that includes service visit charges ($35) and discounts on any plumbing equipment I might need in the future during repairs or installs. Knowing how quirky plumbing can be in the area, I felt the deal was very reasonable and I will keep an eye on my plumbing expenses this year to determine if I will renew the service next year. But I feel confident in calling Harvey West Plumbing for any requests this year.

Hard upsell from the beginning. Cost of service was double market pricing, approximately $13 per minute of time spent on job. That was after we said no to first quote based on price, then he came back with price over 150$ less. The inspection was only flushing toilets and running water, just part of looking for more work to sell. The work they did was good, but due immediate high price quote, turn around and offer for less because we knew that was more than it should be, we will not use again. We just want to warn people of their pricing tactic, if we hadn't known we could have been out over $150.

I purchased a coupon $20 for $100 Worth of ANY Plumbing Service. I had the provider come and take a look at my leaking faucet in my master bathroom. Conclusion, the provider said the faucet had to be rebuilt and it is going to cost $691. With my $100 coupon, my charge would be $591. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I could have a new faucet put in for far less price than that. All they wanted to do was sell me their HOME PLUMBING SERVICE AGREEMENT for $110. Sorry but no thanks.

He did very good, he explained everything and I was very satisfied.

For replacing a small part, he got me a quote of nearly 225 dollars including the 100 dollar voucher that i got through Angie's which makes it to 325 dollars. I didn't agree to this quote but they were kind enough to waive trip fee which is usually 39 dollars, i think. In my opinion, please don't purchase this coupon(100 dollar work for 20 dollar from harvey west) as you will end up in not using that coupon at all(like me) and don't waste your 20 dollars. If you need any plumbing work, please get in touch with them directly and ask for a quote & proceed accordingly. My 2 cents.

I think the job went smoothly, Jeff was very informative and professional. As for the office assistance Cheryl, she is an asset to the company. Cheryl demonstrated excellent customer service in assisting me with times that would meet my work schedule, Cheryl was patient, kind and courteous.

I liked their price and their service was good. The guy who came out did what he was supposed to do. There were no issues scheduling with them.

I purchased the $20 for $100 worth of service deal on Angie's list for this provider, but I had no idea how expensive they were until I spoke with them. However, I decided to use them to try them out, since I had already purchased the deal. I got a cell back early Monday morning after purchasing the deal on Sunday, that was good. They were able to schedule a service for the same day, but the tech arrived an hour later than I expected. Initially I also wanted a dual-flush unit installed in the toilet, but they said they don't install customer supplied flush units. The cost for replacing the broken shut-off valve and put in a new hose was $285, plus the service call was $39. They offered a discount if I signed-up for a 1-year service plan (for $99). I opted not to purchase the plan. So with the $100 Angie's deal the cost was $225 + $20 (which I had already paid). The tech who came to the house, Dustin, was very professional. He was wearing a uniform, put on booties before entering the house, did the work efficiently, and cleaned-up afterwards. He took about half-hour to do the installation and also tightened up a couple other fixtures for me while he was here. Their service was 5-star, but the cost was 1-star. I got an estimate (late) from another A-grade Angie's provider for $150 for the same job. So I would definitely shop around before contacting this vendor for other work.

They did a great job. I was satisfied with the quality of their work. The technicians were fine and they were well trained in their feild. Everything went smoothly.

They were pretty good. We are really happy with them. They were pretty punctual. They were honest about what we actually needed for our house. I like that. We did not have to get a larger water heater that would cost more. So, I appreciated their honesty. I kind of feared getting a tankless which ended up being a good idea. It worked out great for us.

Overall service was great, very professional. But they were a bit expensive.

I recently bought a dishwasher from Lowes. I need to find some one to install it for me. I got quotes from Lowes and another licensed plumber and the two quotes were exactly the same. Then I came across this $20 for $100 deal. I thought I could save some money, so I went ahead and purchased my very first deal from Angie's List. When the technicians came, the quote I got from them for installing the dishwasher was $160 more than the two quotes I got! I decided not to have them install the dishwasher. Before I purchased the deal, I called Harvey West trying to get the price range for installing a dishwasher but they refused to pass that information to me. I will not purchase any deal from Angie's List. There is no free lunch, is it?

They had to come back out and replace the capacitor again and they said that the previous worker did it incorrectly. I thought it was strange that they blamed a fellow co-worker with the job. I would not use them again. The scheduling was fine.

We bought the $20 for 1 hour of plumbing service. Jeff came and did an excellent job. We were afraid they would charge extra to make up for the discount, but they charged the same as what we were charged (for the exact same service) at our home in Houston.

. I purchased the "Angie's Special" on Sunday evening ($20 for $100 for plumbing services). As for dates of service, I said Monday, AM, Monday PM or Tuesday. Sink was 100% stopped up - not one drop of water was going down after 24 hours. Thinking all along that it would probably be at least Tuesday before they could get out. I received a telephone call about 9:00 AM Monday morning, explained the situation and the very nice receptionist said, "let me check with our dispatcher". She came back on line in about 30 seconds and said they could have someone here between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. I said "great" and thanks. About 10:15, there was knock on the door and a very professional young man (in a white uniform shirt with his name on it) asked if I had called for a plumber. He surveyed the situation and said he would need to give me an estimate and get me to sign off on it. This took about 5 minutes as he had his computer with him. I signed and he went to get his tools and equipment. In about 15 minutes, he announced, "I think I got it". So, he ran the water for about 10 minutes, prepared an invoice, I provided the credit card information, he picked up his tools and was off. Every time before he entered the house, he put shoe covers on his shoes and took them off when he went out. No Muss and No Fuss. Excellent response time - much better than I expected. On the other hand, without the $100 coupon from Angie's list, the cost would have been $244.00 - which seems a little much for maximum of 1 hour from his first arrival until he drove away. But as I said, the response was "immediate" and the job was done and he was gone. So, no complaints.

I was not totally pleased with it. They were punctual and came out quickly. I felt their estimate was too high and decided to use someone else.

John Pierce, the Service Manager came out to my house to gave me an estimate for the gas line for my gas dryer and for the water softener/filter system. He was very prompt and professional. Took the time to explain to me what was needed. I regret not being able to climb up the attic with John as I was busy answering phone calls from work. Nonetheless, he have me a very clear description of his plan. Of the three plumbing companies I had coming out, he provided the best explanation of what's needed to be done, and was able to run the line to the water softener through the city line connecting to the laundry room, as opposed to running a separate line from the water meter outside the yard into the garage. Even gave me tips on how to purchase a coupon through Angie's list. Helped me make the appointment to put in the gas line in 48 hours. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I will likely purchase a Service Agreement with the company! Update: 8/9/14: John and Dustin came out and did the job as described. Overall a very positive experience. I purchased the Service Agreement. They honored My Angie's List coupon. Very positive experience! I called John Pierce, the Service Manager and complimented him on his crew. Would use them again in the future for my water softener system.

Service OK. The Big Deal voucher said nothing about new customers only. Plumbing company wouldn't honor voucher since I was not a new customer.

The work was well done and he kept us informed about what he was doing.

Dustin checked the house out first, then we sat down at the kitchen table and discussed the plumbing problems and cost to repair each item. Everything was upfront as far as cost and services, which I really appreciated. He was very polite, courteous, and professional. I would definitely call Harvey West back again to work on any plumbing problem which might occur.

It turned out okay. They sent 1 plumber. I had him replace a valve behind a toilet and it took around an hour to do.

What was included in the proposal is different than invoice. I call the office and they did not want to rectify the mistake.

It went well and they were very responsive. I thought the price was a little high. They got the job done in about one hour. The plumber was very professional and nice. They got the job done very quickly.
