Description of Work: Focal Point extended my patio by 8' and created a flower bed in front of the new patio. They also created a triangular privacy screen using raised bed and small trees and shrubs, as well as a small semi-circular seating area on front of the screen bed. Owner, Red Nichols consulted with me twice even revising the original bid to meet my budget and supervised on site all three days. He was very responsive and professional, making this a very pleasant experience.

Description of Work: Ted installed a French Drain down the side of my house and cored it through the curb so it would drain at the street. They did an excellent job, very respectful of my property. They cleaned up after themselves. Washed up the side walk, street and even the garden hose. Ted also installed my Zozia Lawn last spring. Which is Great!

Description of Work: Half of my mature front landscaping had died due to foundation repairs. Focal Point Landscaping removed the existing landscaping, including some rogue crepe myrtles and climbing ivy. They replaced with all new landscaping more suitable to the climate and shading from trees. I wanted plants that are easy to care for and offer some color. They met that request with an incredible knowledge of plants, care requirements, and long-term viability with temperatures and wildlife. They also installed a drip irrigation to keep the front landscaping well watered, and the foundation. It is well worth it.

 + 3 moreFocal Point Landscaping is highly responsive. All calls were returned quickly and work was done when it was scheduled and completed on-time. Personnel was courteous and cleaned up the yard when the work was done. The most important thing we liked about this company is that the owner listened to what we wanted and gave us just what we asked for. They took care to give us the right grass for our light and shade situation and provided advice on what sorts of shrubs and flowering plants would best thrive in our yard and under our own not-very-green thumbs. We can't say that about other landscapers we have used. We would not hesitate to use Focal Point Landscaping again or to recommend it to our friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: We have used Focal Point Landscaping twice -- first in 2010 to landscape our front yard, and again recently to landscape our back yard. Services provided including replacement of sod, removal, re-design, and installation of new shrubs and flowering plants, tree removal, installation of outdoor lighting, and removal, replacement, and re-surfacing of paved surfaces.

 + 2 moreMy front Bermuda yard was becoming dirt because of the shading by trees, and the neighbors' St. Augustine grass had claimed half the yard. Two other companies told me to go with St. Augustine (which I do not like) and told me that Zoysia was too expensive and would need as much sun as Bermuda. Ted explained that Emerald Zoysia was more shade tolerant and was not dramatically more expensive, so we elected to replace the Bermuda (& St. Augustine) with Emerald Zoysia. Focal Point arrived on Thursday as agreed and finished the work on Friday. Although my wife offered the final payment, Ted would not accept until I had a chance to see the work when I got home Friday evening. The lawn looked great, although there were are couple of minor issues (sod not to property line in one section, drain not completely through retaining wall), so I called Ted Friday evening. He came out on Saturday and resolved both issues. We have used Ted before and have been very happy with both his knowledge and the results. We strongly recommend Focal Point and would definitely use them again. We really like our new Emerald Zoysia yard.
Description of Work: Replaced existing Bermuda grass with Zoysia sod in front yard and east side yard. Raised canopy on large trees in front and on side. Put yard drain in back yard that drained thru wood retaining wall.

 + -1 moreThis was a HUGE job. It was on a creek lot. It was wonderful! We received five bids for this project and his was reasonable compared to the other bids. The job was done on-time, they stayed until it was complete, and they never left us hanging. All of the debris was cleaned up after they were finished. We would recommend his services anytime, he is trustworthy, and you won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: He replaced a railroad tie retaining wall with a pave stone block wall.
