They were easy to communicate with, arrived right on time, and the job was done within the time frame we were given. They all took great care to ensure a job well done with close attention to detail and we are thrilled with the results. We will use them again.

what a great team!! they were very helpful from the initial estimate for the project, all the way through the end. This team definitely believes in providing great customer service. a simply misunderstanding took place regarding one of the paint colors and without blinking an eye, Mike and team immediately jumped in and corrected this, at no cost to me. I highly recommend them. and I myself will definitely use for future painting projects

The painting team was wonderful as usual, but I there was a mix up with the estimate and scheduling. The owner(Mike) was out of town when the issues occurred, but once I spoke with him, things were quickly resolved.

It was terrible. The men who cam to our house were not painters, they were day laborers. They were not professional yet I paid a VERY professional price. The quote process was very deceiving -- after they did a job halfway, we learn that to get it done correctly costs extra. When we spoke to the owner, he wanted to split a $30 charge with us halfway to 'make it right'. You can't absorb $30 to make it right. VERY disappointed. Would not recommend

Had to add extra coats beyond estimate, but otherwise went very well. Painters were very responsive. Would use them again.

Manuel came on a Monday, and did a walkthrough about the job. Christian and Joel got started then, and continued to paint all week. The job took 4.5 days, and they finished much faster than originally anticipated. Everyone was very nice and professional. The paint job looks great! It looks like a whole new house!

The team came in an were very respectful and ready to work. They worked quickly and efficiently. They took great care of details, making sure to keep paint in straight lines on bordering walls and kept the trim in great condition.

The painting job was in a residential home that houses 3 veterans. My father is one of the veterans that live in this house. He damaged a small area in the wall with his recliner. They came at 8:00 in the morning and were right on time. Since they came so early another veteran that lives in the room beside my dad was still asleep so they had to work quietly in order to not disturb which they accomplished, they never bothered him. The painting job was superb! They had to please a lady that is very particular and the job was perfect. They had to patch a hole and match the texture of the existing texture and they did it perfectly. The job had to be complete for my father to be able to sleep in the room that evening and they finished it in less than 3 hours. They put all the furniture back just the way it should be. They were very friendly and professional. I was very impressed and will call them again and recommend them to my friends.

First of all, we got estimates from four different companies (three highly rated on Angieslist,; one popular in our conservation district). Five Star Painting's estimate was 30% cheaper than the nearest estimate, and they are lead certified. I was honestly a little apprehensive about the thoroughness of the job work we might receive, given the price differential (the most expensive estimate was twice Five Star's proposed price). A team of four painters spent nearly a week working on the project. We are so pleased with the work Andres and his crew did. They were clean--good paint lines, no overspray or damaged landscaping--and thorough. Near the end of the work period, Andres asked us to do a walk around of the job and see if there was anything we wanted adjusted. The crew took care of every touch up we requested; most of what we identified were minor things that we wouldn't have expected them to presume we wanted done, not improvements to the quality of work that was done. The entire team was really great. (Ultimately, we'll see how things look in five years to judge the actual outcome, but for now, it's great.) At the conclusion of the work, a manager, Manuel, came over to inspect the work and finalize the deal with us. It was a smooth process from start to finish.

Based on the reviews on Angies List, I have to agree, the job this company will perform is hit or miss. This time it was a miss. It?s unfortunate because I used them a few years ago and was satisfied. Totally different experience this time! I was told the job would take just a few hours, so, I took off a few hours from work. The painters arrived at 8 am and 4 hours later, nothing had been painted. I hired them to paint the ceiling in a great room, hallway & exterior chimney. When the painters arrived at my home, they were not prepared to paint an exterior chimney and had failed to bring a ladder. They left at 9am, came back at 12:30 to start the painting. 1 painter was experienced, the other was not. When they left and the ceiling had dried, I noticed the white ceiling paint on my walls. Even when the inexperienced painter used painting tape, the ceiling line is not straight. In fact, the room looks like a job I myself would have done. It does not look like a clean professional job. There are several areas on the ceiling that I will have to touch up. The job turned out to be a 8-4:15 job when it should have taken 3 hours. The work is not good. When I called to speak to the owner yesterday, the service dept said, someone would call me back. I guess because my job was a small job, the owners weren?t interested in speaking with me. However, I will pay a little more the next time? the old saying is true. I guess, the old saying is true..you get what you pay for. In follow-up to the owner's comments: As far as "minor imperfections" as noted by the owner's comment, if the imperfection was limited to one area, that would have been fine. However, there were several rooms in which ceiling paint bled on the walls. The owner offered to have his painter touch up my ceiling. But that would not solve the problem with the ceiling paint bleeding on my walls. In order to create a clean line on the ceiling, paint will need to be purchased that matches the color of my walls and I will have to paint the upper wall along the ceiling line, to correct the problem. Therefore, when Five Star offered to fix the problem by merely making touch ups to the ceiling, I had to decline it. It would not address the issue. As far as my complaint about taking 8 hours for this job, that would have been fine if the end result was satisfactory. I'm sorry to have to provide this review. However, it is what it is. I wish the company well.

Hired Five Star to paint the entire interior of my house. With various colors, baseboards, doors/jams and some rooms needing multiple coats, the price ended up about $1,200 more than the Big Deal, but was still in line with what I expected to pay. The painters were punctual and spent about 3 days completing the work. They cleaned up each night and the end result is terrific. Hopefully, won't need to paint again for a while but would have no issue using them again if needed. Overall, a great experience!

FIVE STAR PAINTING - INTERIOR HOME PAINTING If you are looking for quality detailed painting source Five Star Painting is not the company to use. They do not complete details, for example, we had floor tile installed and some of the floor wood trim molding had old paint and caulking left behind, they painted over the molding without any prep work without removing existing flaking caulk and paint. Consequently, the work turned out to be substandard, due to this lack of attention to details. We selected Five Star Painting based upon Angie?s List reviews and letters. The following is my experience with Five Star Painting. They provide painting service for our home remodel. The scope of work was to remove ?popcorn? ceiling and paint three rooms. Removing the ?popcorn? ceiling and general painting was satisfactory. There is a language problem translating between English and Spanish. Five Star?s site manager was the translator making visits during the process in which he continually searched for extras, change orders and shortcuts, trying to cut costs rather than doing the work correctly. The site manager coached the painters to take shortcuts and cut costs. There were several details discovered during a walkthrough. It was a letdown that these fairly obvious details were not caught and corrected. A few items were corrected and the balance were simply patched. The field manager?s approach was ?let?s not make a project of this?. Again, the painters were coached to take shortcut and make band aid ?patches? to save time. I am disappointed with the quality of workmanship provided by Five Star Painting and cannot recommend Five Star Painting.

The paint job itself was good. We gave them a B rating because they did get some paint on the bricks, front porch, interior entry mats from when they painted the doors, and the deck. Also, the paint flakes that came off during the power washing are all over the porch, deck and ground. The painter told us the wind would blow them away but, so far, that hasn't happened. We live in the country so it is not such a big deal, but if we lived in town it might be a problem. We would use them in the future if we needed additional exterior painting, but would hesitate to use them for interior painting.

I was initially impressed by the estimator, JP. He was very friendly and agreed to come out on a Saturday. It went downhill from there. The painters were 45 minutes late, causing me to miss a meeting at my new job. The work was consistent with what I could do myself if I had the time - paint on hardware, failure to properly texture patches, failure to sand and prep the garage, failure to sand, caulk and prep new wood on doors and trim. I expected a professional paint job. They did not deliver. We also had lots of communication issues - lots of emails went unreturned until I threatened to post that fact on Angie's List - miraculously they responded. Ultimately we came to an impasse on the punch list. They pressured me to pay in full despite me not being satisfied with the work. BTW, I had already given them a 50% payment, in good faith. JP told me that they had delivered "above industry standards." Really?? I disagree and would warn any discerning customer. If you are totally laid back and do not mind sloppy work, they will do just fine. Otherwise, find another painter. By the way, I always tell contractors up front that I have high standards. JP did not seem phased by this, so if that is the reply from the owner, it will be absurd. Their pricing was consistent with a professional paint job, so that is what I expected. I wish I could post pictures of the work. In the end I am out the full cost of Five Star plus the added expense of paying someone to finish THEIR punch list.

Five Star arrived when scheduled. they worked hard to even up my very uneven garage floor as much as possible and sealed the floor with their Chip coat garage floor system. The color was perfect for our house and we are very happy with the service. The owner even came by to check on the workers and the progress. My garage floor is now a showpiece and everyone has asked me where we got it done..... And the warranty was second to none. We tested it out very quickly (about 5 days later) when I had an oil spill and it cleaned right up without a stain. what a difference. I just had an A/C leak in my house that ruined my ceiling in the upstairs game room. After my experience with Five Star Painting and Mike (the owner) I will be calling them again to do my ceiling repairs and repaint the game room.

J.P. came out very quickly in response to my request for a bid on the job. He did a thorough walk-around of the house and checked for any rotten wood that might need to be replaced. His bid was $1000 less than another highly-rated paint contractor, so I chose Five Star. The job was scheduled as soon as the rainy weather allowed. The crew showed up promptly early in the morning and worked until about 7:00pm to get the job done in one day. They cleaned up after themselves and Franklin, the job foreman, did a review of the work with me to ensure that I was satisfied.

The estimator/quote process was great. They were very responsive and able to get us a competitive bid in a timely manner. The trouble started when the workers showed up to do the work. When I did a walkthrough with the worker I pointed out all of the pieces of wood that needed to be replaced prior to painting. He kept making comments like "we can patch it and make it look alright" and I specifically said no it needed to be replaced per the estimate. We argued over this for a bit until he just said "sure." They covered the house fine, but left ladders and used materials all over the place during the paint process, even leaving a ladder fully extended blocking our front door overnight. Towards the end of the painting period when it was time to evaluate the area manager did a walkthrough with us. We had been evaluating the work as it went on and we saw that none of the bad wood on the house was being replaced, rather patched, so when we did the walkthrough we pointed this out. Since the wood was all high up on the home it was difficult to see but the painter insisted that he replaced all of the wood with new pieces. We had to physically rip off the patched and painted wood from the house to prove that the painter had lied about replacing the wood. The painter also repeatedly lied about painting the soffits which was also pointed out. We were then told that someone else would come out and remove/fix all the damaged wood which we are unsure if it ever happened as the wood was around the chimney and we are not going to crawl to evaluate that area. Long story short they may be a good business at heart but the people that are interacting directly with the customers and doing the work are doing a poor job and lie. Whether your house will get painted properly is probably luck of the draw.

Franklin arrived a few minutes early and I gave him paint color details. He left and Carlos stayed behind to move furniture and his team began to tape etc. I left the house to go to work. They are friendly & professional. The walls are painted nicely and they cleaned up well before I got home.
