TruGreen Lawn Care - 5140

Take this for what it's worth. I've been more than polite to this company up to now but I've had it. I'm through. I originally contracted with TruGreen to do my lawn service for 2009. Because of the economy, I began cutting back on expenses and their service was something I decided I could do without. Ever since that time, I have been called RELENTLESSLY by telemarketers from TruGreen. Their reps have even stopped by my house trying to sell me additional services. I have repeatedly asked them to stop calling and have cited the aggressive calling as the sole reason I won't come back to them. Still, they keep calling...even though I'm not a customer and even though I've asked them to stop. As of today, I have written them a formal letter insisting that my numbers be removed from their calling lists, and I am cc'ing the Ohio Attorney General to get them off my back. Take my advice and DO NOT start down the road with TruGreen or Chemlawn or you'll be overwhelmed by their marketing attempts to sell you every treatment in the book.

They are knowledgeable of the tree diseases and the types of trees. This is my first year with them. So far I am pleased with them and I don?t have any problem with them. They have done good work. They come out when they say they would. They leave notes whenever they are here.

I still have quite a few broadleaf weeds and they have been treating the lawn for two years now. They miss the edge of the lawn often.

2008 good service. 2009 There appears to be no one in charge. Failed to show up when scheduled. Beware of doing business with this company.

It started by a tru green sales person stopping by to note how "horrible" our lawn looked. There were quite a few weeds in the grass, but the sales guy assured us that that would easily be fixed, leaving us to think that one or two treatments would take care of the problem. A year later, the lawn looks better, but still not great. Not as great as I would expect from "lawn care experts". On top of that there seems to be a lot of turnover in the people who manage the route and actually come out, where each person has a different opinion of how the problems should be fixed. I found that very frustrating. Besides paying for the regular treatments, trugreen always wants to upsell you on additional services, not telling you up front this is another "grub treatment plan" or "insecticide plan" where they will come back automatically and charge you again and again for these services. Icing on the cake was when I received a phonecall to let me know they were going to come out again, and I said that I wanted to cancel the trugreen service. The guy on the other side of the phone gave me a guilt trip about firing him personally before he had a chance to prove himself (problem with that is that each time trugreen personnel proves they can't fix the problem they change around and there's a new person to prove themselves). I asked to be removed from the service and removed from all calling lists. After having been assured that was all taken care of, two days later they call again saying they will be out for service. If you want a nice looking lawn without the hassle, stay away from TruGreen North.

Overall, a really bad experience. Just so there is no nonsense over paperwork, I have the work order in front of me as I write this.

I've had very good results with tree care. They come when asked as well as when contracted. We work with Steve Bishop and he's very good with our Redbud tree. He provided preventative maintenance on it when it was damaged. It's a favorite and very old tree and doing well. They have provided at least 7 lawn treatments on our lawn application contract. There are moments when the grass is not quite as even as it should be which produces a few bald spots. For the most part they're working on that but I think there's room for improvement. We'll see how they respond this season. The pruning job was very good.

I just started using them this year. Overall, they did a good job. There were a few issues with them not showing up, but still charging me on my credit card. It turns out the guy had gone to the wrong place. The problem was resolved and the guy came out and made the application the next day. I am happy with their service and will use them again.

They showed up on time. They were professional and patient with me. The technician took his time and answered all of my questions. It is very easy to schedule an appointment with them. I have used their services for quite some time and haven't had any problems.

They were very informative. Whenever I called, they provided good customer service and were easy to deal with. My lawn looks pretty good since I started using their services.

The work was performed on schedule, but the weeds didn't seem to be reduced and the lawn wasn't noticeably greener.

Our yard looks great. We have a lot of landscaping and think the price is good for the amount that we have.

We are on a schedule to have our lawn fertilized and weeds treated. They will return if the results are not as expected.

I have an ornamental pond and they are supposed to call me and tell me when they are coming. The last time they were supposed come out they never showed up and never even called to tell me they would not be coming. I had someone from their company call me sometime later to schedule and I told them nobody had come out the last time and he was surprised because they had filed that somebody did. I canceled the service.

They achieve really good results with the products they use. If I ever have to call, they usually are very friendly and easy to talk to. I haven't had any problems with them.

I have been using their services for about fifteen years. They do a good job and are very cost conscious. The price has never increased on me year to year. Whenever I have had quality issues, they have responded quickly to correct the issue.

They did a good job. They came to spray the next day, after I called them. They were professional. They came out and did their job without bothering anyone.

They have professional people who all seem to be well trained. They use all of the proper chemicals and fertilizers and do a good job with the work. They do have some issues with responsiveness, but their services are good once they get here.

I have used their services for a couple of years now. My lawn looks great. They do good work. They will call or send you a notice to let you know they are coming out.

The service I get from them is good. I am happy with their work and with the way my lawn looks. I like that they leave me a report and I think they are reliable and trustworthy. I did, however, find grubs one time and they were very good about coming back out at no extra charge. I would recommend them.

If you do have a problem they will always come back. They email me after they have been here to make sure I am satisfied. I have used them for a long time, so they try to give me a decent rate. They really do try to help you.

Please dont be fooled by this companys telephone customer service representatives. That part of their workforce is quite good. However, the specialist assigned to my residence was terrible. I twice scheduled appointments with him to come to my house so that I could talk to him (specifically) about our grass. The first time I scheduled the appointment he showed up more than an hour late and I missed him because I had to go to work. (He didnt call to let us know that he was late.) The second time, he didnt show at all. Even after I called to discontinue service from Trugreen, they still sent the specialist out the next day to treat our lawn. I really feel like we just had a terrible specialist. The icing on the cake is that our lawn still looks pretty terrible. I feel like they give blanket treatment to all their customers and dont take the time to look at a home owners individual needs.

They came out as promised. They provided a reasonable estimate (about two hundred dollars less than the other companies I called). I will definitely use them for this project.

We have used them for a long time. They always do a good job. If there ever is a problem and you would like them to come out and look at something theyll send someone out with no additional charge. We will continue to use them for these services.

The applications were all completed and I would say that the perimeter pest control treatments work very well. I have noticed a decrease in bugs that tend to migrate into one's home since the start of this program. Their fertilization of my lawn which is to help with unwanted weeds, and crabgrass, sort of does the job. I have the great unfortune on having thistle and their application to my yard does nothing for it. I use caution when using them. One fall they applied a grub control application that I specifically told them I did not want. I then was approached the following summer for the same treatment. When I asked how long the application lasts I was told a year. I then pointed out I was still covered on last falls treatment. They came back on the phone and said it was only for that season. Which I then argued that paying over $80 for a service that was guaranteed less than 3 months was not worth it.
