They did an excellent job. I would use them again.

We were having trouble with large black ants, centipedes and earwigs inside the house. We requested TruGreen apply the perimeter pest spray once to see if it would help the problem. The single application was adequate to keep the house free of pests which wandered in from outdoors. We made it an annual spring application. TruGreen tried to sell the application to us three times per year, but once seemed to be enough. However, the single application in spring/early summer did not help with the millipede problem. Later we found this required more than a perimeter pest spray.

The applications were usually applied when we were away at work. One year we discontinued the service because we were unsure of the value of the service. That year the dandelions and other weeds overtook the yard. We contacted TruGreen again the following year, and the grass came back. The only thing I was unhappy about is they had sales people who were always calling, trying to sell additional services.

The more work they did on the lawn, the more the weeds grew. My wife even told them, they would not want to use our lawn as an example in their advertising. I would not recommend them to others.

Our experience with TruGreen ChemLawn started off reasonably well, with the company performing promptly and reliably. However, TruGreen ChemLawn's service took a turn for the worse in recent months. What ultimately led us to end our relationship with TruGreen ChemLawn was an incident where we had scheduled an aeration, placed a call early on the day of the service to confirm that the aeration would be done on that very day, and then for TruGreen ChemLawn simply not to show up! Needless to say, there are many other lawn service companies clamoring to service properties in our highly desirable neighborhood.

They are professional, do the work well. Our lawn looks great!

Once we agreed that their estimate (March) was fair and within our budget, we were told that our first treatment would begin in 7-10 days. After two weeks we called and asked when we would have our first treatment and were told that they should have already been out. It took two more calls to get that treatment, which we figured would get the ball rolling. Well.......no one has been back out, so we called again to check when they plan to put down the second treatment. We were told they would be out within a couple business days, which came and went with no service. We called today and canceled our service.

We called them after hearing our neighbor used them. I was excited I talked my husband into getting their service. Their first estimate for our yard was $79 per treatment for lawn and $69 per treatment for trees & shrubs. We signed up and paid in advance. Within 2 weeks another Trugreen tech came by and left his own estimate, $60 for lawn service. I called Trugreen and they honored the lower price. Within 2 more weeks, yet another Trugreen tech came by and undercut their estimate again to $56 per treatment for the lawn and listed several things WRONG with my lawn! I called to cancel my service with them and found they never even processed my payment from a month ago. I had to pay them for 2 of the 3 services performed. I had to remind them of their policy for refunds if not happy. I am very upset that they are not more organized and my husband thinks they are shady, every few weeks I get a cheaper estimate, get it right the first time please.

All contacts with the company were pleasant, and they were efficient. All their work was first-class, and all of the flower beds look great. Their proposal was significantly less than those of two other companies. They spread ten additional bags of mulch at no extra charge.

Frustration to stop sent bill statement until it goes to the corps office where? I don't know, when, what day of the year, what time of the day or month.

I had Gary Laughlin give an estimate of $876.88 for one year of treatment, or 6 applications. I agreed on the price and they excepted my payment in full. When the gentleman showed up to do my first treatment, I was told that I was under charged based on the size of my lawn. I called Gary back to see what the problem was. After going back and forth with Gary we agreed that I could stay at the price we agreed upon but that I would drop down to 5 applications to one. The next day another gentlemen called, named Bob, and told me that that agreement would not work and that I still needed to pay more. After a while of arguing, I decided to just cancel my plan and Bob offered to refund my money.

Terrible! Because I have a small dog, there are areas in the backyard that I wish not to have treatment. Skeptical, so that I could monitor what was being done, what was being applied, and how long it actually took, I requested a phone call stating which day the service would be applied and an approximate time to expect someone. I received calls stating the day, but that day wasn't the day of service; they came on a different day. Soon, however, I began getting frequent bills stating that someone was out. It became very difficult tracking the schedule of services as bills would arrive without my knowledge of service being done or a previous phone call. Plus, I would receive annoying calls from company reps asking to do more service over the threat of ants, grubs, or needing to apply something because of something. The more I requested the calls to stop, reps continued to call me. It s to the point now that I m seeking advice on how to stop these calls.

They came too often. One month they came twice. They said that my yard needs a different type of fertilizer. They have still been coming even after I called them to complain about them coming too frequently.

They are horrible. The person that came out to spray only spot sprayed and did not spray my whole lawn while I was home. The company said they would send out that person again to spray and he sprayed while I wasn't home. I called the company and they said that he sprayed the whole lawn and that the person had been working for their company for 9 years and they never had a complaint on him. However, I find it hard to believe that he would spray my whole lawn while I wasn't home when he didn't even spray the whole lawn while I was home the first time.

The company has professional staff answering the phone. I had some problems in the spring with many weeds in the lawn. Chemlawn applied extra weed killer for no additional charge.

I called for treatment, and it was completed in about a week.

At first, our experience with Trugreen was not bad. But when I called to see when they would be performing the free aeration that came with the the "Deluxe" package I purchased I was told there was no free service and I would be paying $56 for it. Jennifer Carpenter was the account manager that I was put in touch with and she confirmed that the package I purchased did not come with free services. I told her I was told by the salesperson that it did, and the only reason I paid $56 per application in the Deluxe Package vs. $42 per application for the standard service was for the free aeration. She was rude and still refused to help me. I pointed out that if you do the math, I'd pay more for aeration with the package that was supposed to be free compared to just paying for aeration separately. Finally, they gave me the service for free as stated by the salesperson. The shady sales pitch and math are a huge concern for me, but more so for those that may not catch their dishonesty.

TruGreen is the only fertilizer company that we have used for the lawn. I did hire an arborist for some of the tree treatments, but switched to TruGreen for ease of scheduling and to contain costs. I must admit that I have sort of a love/hate relationship with the company. The company itself is fine for our needs, it's just that I kind of hate having to use them at all. I wish that we had the time and energy to fertilize our own lawn and shrubs- or even that we didn't have a lawn at all! But being in the Midwest in a nice neighborhood with manicured lawns, I guess we don't have too much choice. I do wish that they informed us ahead of time by phone or email when each treatment would be applied so that we knew to water right away if it didn't rain. I do not think that they individualize the treatments for the particular lawn that they are treating, so I bet that a lot of the fertilizer just runs off or isn't used by the lawn.

They do good work, and are very reliable. They do call a day before coming out.

Technicians have completed work in a timely manner.

I had my doubts when I started. The lawn was more weeds than grass and I was afraid I would end up with a lawn full of bald spots. It didn't turn out that way at all. It has taken a whole season, but the appearance of the lawn is much improved. It is not yet totally weed free, but it now looks like mostly grass with a few weeds. The serviceman's advice on lawn maintenance was also very helpful.

They did a great job! They come like clockwork and leave good notes for me.

They do the job they're contracted to do, nothing outstanding, but they do the job.

We used TruGreen for one and a half summers. The first summer (2005) we had an overall good experience. However, we had to terminate their contract this summer (2006) because our lawn looks terrible. Upon initial contact about my dissatisfaction, I requested to terminate service and get a complimentary service call, which I was refused since I was terminating service. In my final phone call with them, they stated they had been out the day before on a service call. There was no lawn sign posted or paperwork left - the technician had simply not come out and said he did. Finally, they agreed to credit me for the last application. I will not be contacting this company again. They do not control weeds.

They called me 1 month ago to sell me an extra lawn application. They were told "no, might be selling". But they insisted I needed it. Had to finally hang up after 3-4 "no" answers. Got a card in the mail a week later saying they would be out with another application they said was necessary. I called to say "just put my account on hold till I call you back." Three days later a man came and started to apply this chemical anyway. I was home and told him I'd said to put me on hold. He had not been told this, but if I had not been home, he'd have put it on my lawn. A few days later, I got home to find a note "look what we found" which stated I needed more lawn care. Finally I called to say "I'm finding another lawn care company if you can't listen to what I'm telling you." They apologized, but while they can take good care of your lawn, they were too pushy for me.
