Description of Work: Replace compressor and thermostat that was under warranty from factory

Description of Work: Replaced entire AC system. Have used them before. I did find other manufactures offering lower cost but not the same quality and features. |Love the new unit. So quiet we do not even hear it turning on or running.

Description of Work: Replaced control board. It took 4 days to get the part and 2 additional days to get on their schedule. Work was completed quickly and the technician was very nice.

Description of Work: I am very, very pleased with the quality of the service I received from this company. They fixed the problem, were very prompt and so courteous and nice. If you need work done on your air conditioning, this is the place to use for sure!!!!

Description of Work: After reading the good reviews here and being new to Tyler, I felt like ETR was a good place to start to get my AC fixed. I called at 9:30a and was told a serviceman would call that afternoon. Finally, at 5:00pm they called and showed up shortly thereafter. After examining the thermostat and AC unit, I was told that I needed a new thermostat ($586) and that there had been no filter in the unit which had caused the coils to be so filthy that they would have to remove the coils to clean to the tune of $1000 and there was no guarantee it could be fixed once we went through all of this. After determining the unit was 27 years old, I became convinced a new unit was needed, got a quote, but no paperwork, and I was told I would get a call the next morning. I decided to get a couple of other quotes while waiting for their call, which by noon still had not come. I finally called them and was told no sales people were in the office that morning and they'd have someone call ASAP. I had gotten another quote that I was interested in. It was another hour before I heard from ETR. After questioning the salesman about the system I had spoken to the tech about (which I wasn't even sure what he had quoted me on since I had no paperwork to refer to), I hung up with him in bewilderment because of the lack of interest he had in trying to make this sale. The other company had a totally different approach, made me a good deal, and was trying to win my $10K worth of business. I opted to go with them because they were at least concerned about the fact that I had been without air for almost 2 days at this point and told me they would do whatever they could to get my system to run while I waited for my new one to get in. Their salesman and a tech were here within 10 minutes with a new thermostat and to work on the coils. To my horror, I come to find out that my present thermostat was just fine, and when they went out to the unit to try to get it going, they discovered there WAS a filter in the unit. They did a quick clean of the coils, and the old unit has been working ever since as well as the thermostat!!!! So here are the facts on ETR. They LIE to their customers in an attempt to sell a new unit. Their customer service stinks in that they could have cared less about doing anything to help me out of my very hot situation in any kind of a timely manner. When I called them back to tell them I was going with the other company, it amazed me that the salesman just responded "ok," made no attempt whatsoever to try and keep the sale, and told me they would be sending me a bill for the service call now. I know that they got glowing reports from everyone here on Angie's List, but I am sorry to say they were not the company that was represented here with me. I only hope their happy customers were not bamboozled like they tried to do to me.

Description of Work: What amazing service! Called them this morning at 7:00 and recd a call back at 8:15 confirming an appt time to be at the house that we are purchasing! This service is hard to find anymore! The home inspector had found that the unit didn't blow cold air at all although the compressor was running. Tom found the problem in a wire that had become disconnected. What a relief to know that after the house is closed upon that we do not have to spend a huge chunk of money replacing inside combo unit! Professional and timely!!!!!!!

Description of Work: ETR installed and maintains our home comfort system. They are a first-rate contractor and their technicians are always neat, cordial and professional.
