Description of Work: The date may not be accurate but they did have to come out a second time for some corrections. Cost was more than the original coupon because I have some extensive problems. It was at a rental property. I was recommended to this service by someone unaffiliated with Angie's List and then I went on line and bought the service coupon.

Description of Work: Installed new service panel. The electrician came to our home to inspect the old panel the week prior to installing the new panel. He was professional and explained the work scope. He came back and installed the new panel with surge protection. He did a good job and I would recommend this company.

Description of Work: They replaced my breaker box plus some other related tasks,started off real well but the wheel fell off toward the end of the project,failed inspection and then sat there for two whole days only to learn their office never recalled the inspector to come back and in fact had to get Angie's list rep. to intervene,the tech guy was suppose to come back after the inspection to do some minor things but did not and never got any paper work showing my lifetime warrants,nothing!..the tech guy was nice and did good work but their office really does not do well which marred the whole project.

Description of Work: Thank you for the opportunity to comment. On balance, we are displeased with the repair and panel replacement. The litany proceeds a bit like this: -First appointment for the 'whole house electrical assessment' was deferred because the electrician was detained on another job. Ok, that is understandable and the company called to reschedule for the following Monday between 0800 and 1200. -Not having heard anything on the Monday, I called the company at 1150 to ask a status and was told the electrician would be there within 30 minutes. An hour or so later he arrived. I walked him through the house showing him things that needed doing and showed him the panel to be replaced. -At this point, he made some comments about how the advert was wrong; the panel would not be replaced @ 200 amps, but only what the homeowner had initially (i.e., 125 amp for a 125 amp, and so on). Second, he stated that there was a limit to the number of breakers - I think he said 25, could have misheard - and our panel had considerably more. [this is the part that upsets us, because it sounded like the makings of a 'bait and switch' attempt.] -I asked if he could replace the outside panel @125 amp in order to prepare the garage for additional circuits for a future workshop. We discussed options and agreed on a further $1900 over and above the $1200 already charged. -He did the work the next day and it was a thorough job right up to the point where he had to re-connect with the control box for the pool pumps / filters. He could not get 220 volt going to the pumps and consequently they did not work. -I called the company and it sent a second electrician a day or so later. He was successful in getting 220v power to the control box for the pool, but apparently in so doing, unknowingly created a short. -That short manifested itself last week just before the rains started and left us unable to discharge water from the pool when it threatened to overflow onto the patio. I had to prevent that by purchasing a sump pump for about $90 (sales tax, etc) and using it to lower the level of the pool during the rain event. -Today, we learned from our pool maintenance person that the control box has a short, some damage from the earlier work, and now needs replacing as well (to the tune of more than $3000; fair is fair, I cannot tell how much of that cost is directly attributable to the inability to simply re-connect the box to the panel at the beginning of this process). This is our second experience with 'Angie's List' contractors and y'all are batting .500. Our first experience was a fence replacement job which went fabulously well. Very happy. This one, not so much. We are highly unlikely to use this electric company again. Cheers, Joe and Karen Lahnstein.

Description of Work: Ordered the deal stating "swap/upgrade" to 200 amp electrical panel. The provider said that they could not upgrade, only replace with same size. Also they did not suggest replacing current "miswired" breakers in panel.
