Expert Electric

Bill arrived on time and the work was completed within 3 to 4 hours of his arrival. He did a very good job! On a side note. Angie's List needs to make their members aware of the policies of Centerpoint Energy in the Houston Texas area regarding removing the meter and turning the power off so this work can be done. The same thing applies in getting the meter re-installed and having the power turned back on. Bill actually came out to do this work on August 8 2013 but because of the Centerpoint Energy polices and delays, he had to come back on August 13 to complete the work. He did this a no extra charge. I strongly recommend Bill to all Angie's list members!

I received a phone call around 7:30 am to let me know they could not make it to my appointment until 2:00 pm. He stated it was due to the rain and it was messing up his schedule. My appointment was at 9 am and it was an inside the house job. His phone etiquette was not professional in the least. I had scheduled an appointment so that I could plan my day around it. Bill and a co-worker, showed up at 2:10 pm. My husband had been called out of the country on a last minute work assignment so I advised him of the locations that my husband would like the outlets placed. Bill quickly told me he couldn't place the garage one where I wanted and moved it over slightly then told me he couldn't do the other one in the location wanted without making a mess. So I picked the alternate location described to me by my husband. Bill came back into my foyer after speaking with me in the garage and moved my console table, spilling scentsy wax (candle with open top) all over the floor and my console table. I had previously showed him the outlet behind the table but said I would move it if he needed to look at it because the wax hadn't yet hardened (from being melted earlier). I was extremely upset that he had picked up the scentsy and moved it to my dining room table without even consulting me or asking me if I could move my belongings. At this point I just wanted the job done so he could leave. After the work was done, I asked him how much I owed him. Bill said, "nothing". I said, "nothing ?" He said, didn't you purchase the coupon on Angie's list? I said, no, I did not. He said, "oh, well, then it will be $200." He then changed his mind to $175 "because he spilled my candle wax". I was expecting him to say because I was an Angie's List Member. At this point I wrote the check and he left. I will not be hiring this company ever again. Not professional in any way and I believe he thought I had purchased the Angie's List Deal, which was $200 worth of work for $111. I basically felt he wanted to get in, get it done as easy as possible and leave since he thought I had paid the $111. Besides this, when he got down on the floor in my foyer, he grunted and groaned something crazy. Very unprofessional.

I found this service provider on Angie's List. I was in a bit of a time crunch. I found Bill on a Saturday and he came on a Sunday. He came to do the work the Monday after that. He did excellent work and I was very pleased with the service.

They arrived on time and the work was completed promptly using the quality of parts that I would have expected. Later I began to experience shorts in the box due to crossed wires and lose connections.

The electricians were prompt and courteous. They worked very efficiently without it feeling "rushed". Will definitely use again. Thank you!!!

He was prompt and got to work immediately. He had all the tools and equipment he needed. I was able to continue what I was doing. Before I knew it, the work was finished. It is wonderful to have working light indoors and a working ceiling fan outdoors in Houston's heat!

Bill was very professional, punctual, and prepared. We had a bad time with the city and our electric service provider in terms of the timing of the service cut-off and reinstatement, and the lengthy wait for the new permit to allow the service to be reinstated. But none of this was due to Bill. I have only good things to say about Bill's work an his customer service attitude.

They said that I needed to have a certain type of switches, and I found out later, that I didn't need to. I don't know who is right, but I just didn't get a good feeling about that.

Bill did a very good job of replacing the electrical panel. The only inconvenience we had was staying at a hotel overnight until the panel was inspected as a permit was required and needed final inspection. I would use Expert Electric again as there were no surprises and ultimately very happy with the result.

Everything was repaired, except the den light that did not have the proper wiring to accomplish the requested task. Also, the kitchen light fixture was repaired, but another light fixture in the same area (3-light, 2 bulb flourescent), is now faulty.

Didn't take them long to figure out which breakers were at issue and to repair them. One thing I take issue with (and that wasn't disclosed on the Big Deal) is the "man hours" timing. I started to asked them to check something else for me since they were finished within 20 minutes and the Deal was for an hour, and was told that since there were two of them, that my hour was almost up. This certainly isn't the first service call with this issue - it does seem to be the industry standard - but when they're both doing exactly the same thing, one essentially looking over the other's shoulder, it doesn't seem right to me. As I said, this seems to be industry standard, otherwise the service and the technicians were more than satisfactory... this is just a pet peeve of mine....

I phoned angie's list immediately and they refunded my money in full. :)

He did a great job and I did not have any surprises.

The service was excellent and the electrian was very professional.

They were very good. They installed one fan and moved the existing fan to another room. They did the work in a matter of 45 minutes. I felt like I got a great deal for my money.

the newer fixture was installed inside the old furr-down so it didn't look out of place. all work was done in a clean and workmanlike manner. technicians were punctual and friendly. we would happily call on them again and recomend w/o reservation. .

Bill was very easy to work with. He did exactly what he said he would and on time. He was up-front about all costs and even went the extra mile to aquire the specific parts we requested. We have other projects planned for him and we would recommend Expert Electric to anyone.

Bill, arrived earlier than the appointment was scheduled but it was a welcome relief to other appointments that require time windows. He and Pete were very courteous and professional. I explained what I needed done and they were able to complete the job ahead of schedule. I would recommend their services.

I bought a brand new fan to have installed. When he was taking it out of the plastic, one of the fans got knicked (wooden fan) said we could touch it up with marker or furniture polish, so I wasn't happy that my brand new fan now had a knick. In reference to the Big Deal we purchased he said the coupon was for 1 hour of labor with one person, but he had someone else with him and it would be the double the cost. He ended up saying he'd do it for me that time, but I read the find print and it said nothing about having 2 people and the job costing more.

Went fine. Completed in the time paid for. Recommended. No "upselling".

Mike and his helper Petey were super. We put in a high powerd hot tub that has two 2.5 Hp pumps and apretty serious heater. When Mike came out to bid the job, I had already had two bids. Each was considerably higher and as far as I could tell similar in scope. I was unclear as to what I needed done so I had my contact at Olympic Pools & Spas talk to all three and coordinate the bids. Any way my box was pretty full and I needed 220V and 50A service with a disconnect and GFCI located near the Spa but not too near. Mike got all materials and mounted a small 50A GFCI in a weatherproof enclosure on the outside of my garage. Then trenched under the decking to the Spa area and stubbed up. We were moving the Spa that morning as Mike was doing his work. Mike and Petey helped us move the Spa (800Lbs dry) into location. We were able to just drop it through a bottom penetration in the Spa and no wires/conduit or connections were visable or apparent. It was very clean and fired right up when we turned the spa on. I was very happy with the solution to 1- not enough space in the box for the Spa, 2- The timeliness of Expert Electrical and the work as weel as the clean-up. He supplied all materials and labor and helped move the spa across my backyard. It was so large we had to tear out an 8" section of fence, just to get it in the backyard. And even then we had to tip it up on it's side, to get through. Again I can't say enough about Mike, Petey and their willingness to pitch-in an help out with a bit of manual labor. He was on time and completed the work quickly. He advised me that I really needed to changed out my very outdated breaker box. I would use him again.

Bill came out and was very accomodating to our schedule and pinpointed the problem and took care of it quickly.

I have had a few electrical outlets around the house that were always tripping (GFCI) or just didn't work. When I saw the $49 special that Angie's List emailed, I thought this could be an easy and inexpensive way to try a new electrician out. It worked out well, he came out the same week and everything is now working great.

Bill scheduled the appt and arrived on time. He diagnosed the issue, left to get the part, returned promptly and installed the new socket. Entire process took less than an hour. Bill and his assistant were very efficient and professional.
