We called Baker Roofing and asked them to repair our roof leak around the water heater vent pipes. They came out the next day and repaired the leaks and painted the vents and pipes with color matching the shingles.

After I got the phone call from my tenant for the leaking sound in my rental house, I started looking for roof companies in the Angie?s List. I found Baker Roofing Company has a very good reputation. I called Baker Roofing Company to check my roof. Mr. Baker answered the phone and went to the house the next day. He took 78 pictures from my old roof. He e-mailed me and sent me all the pictures of my roof. He felt my roof was very old and not in very good condition. I could see many problems in the photos. He said that the problems were typical causes for leaks on roofs. Some shingles were missing, some nails were showing, the granules had come off the roof and were in the gutters. Many photos showed signs of potential leak points. At the worst areas, the gutters had almost 1" of granules in it. In some areas the shingles had worn out. These were all signs of a worn out roof. He said the leak that the tenant reported could have come from many possible areas. Since there was no visible sign of water in the home, the only way to investigate a leak was to take the roof apart and investigate. Leaking water could be the cause of the weak decking. He could not identify a single reason for a roof leak since problems were everywhere. He said if they patched, he could not guarantee that they had fixed the leak since he could not identify a single problem. He advised the best way to guarantee a leak free roof was to take it down to the wood decking, replace bad wood and build up a new roofing system guaranteed to be leak free. He thought my roof had reached the end of its useful life and needed to be replaced. He advised a proposal for my new roof and showed me some photos of his jobs of his previous customers. The roof system was hand-nailed (6 per shingle) Hi Definition GAF shingles and the double-nailed super thick Z-ridge used on the ridges and hips. He had built many roofs with this design and customers were very pleased with the outcome. He highly recommended Z ridge which would add 10 years life to my roof. I also called the other companies for the quote of my roof, but no one checked the roof as thoroughly as Mr. Baker. He explained every step, every detail, to me before the work got started. Especially the pictures of his previous jobs really helped me know how he was going to work on my roof. I had no knowledge of any roofing installation. Mr. Baker told me to go on GAF Company?s website to check all the information, and that was very a good suggestion. Finally, I decided to hire Mr. Baker to replace my roof. The reason I hired Mr. Baker was simple. He was courteous, honest, trustworthy, responsive, and professional. I am very satisfied with the finished product. Baker Roofing Company did an excellent job. My new roof is beautiful. After the roof installation, I got the letter from HOA regarding the cracks in my brick and between the garage door frame and the brick. I asked Mr. Baker to repair for me. I couldn?t believe it that Mr. Baker fixed the cracks for me for free. Overall, it has been very pleasant experience working with Mr. Baker. I definitely will hire Baker Roofing Company to repair my siding in the future.

Prior to Christmas we noticed an area around the fireplace that was water damaged and we also had a water stain on the ceiling in a bedroom. We contacted Baker Roofing Company and left a phone message. We promptly received a return call from the owner of the company, Richard Baker. We scheduled an appointment for the roof to be inspected and Miguel, the crew foreman, came out on the date and time that we had scheduled. Miguel found three problem areas with the major problem being around the fireplace. While Miguel was at our home, he contacted Richard Baker and advised him about the condition of the roof. Richard Baker contacted us that same day and we scheduled an appointment for him to come out. Richard Baker came out at the appointed time and went over his recommendations for the roof and explained in detail the process and materials that would be used. He covered the warranties of the products that he was recommending. He also showed us pictures of the different stages of a roof being constructed as well as pictures of completed jobs. After we signed the contract we were given a starting date and advised that the job would be completed in one day, which we were concerned about since it was so close to Christmas. However, he assured us that the job would be completed in one day and that it would be a beautiful roof. On the starting day, a full crew arrived promptly at 7:00 a.m. with all materials and a large trailer for the debris. They immediately started work tearing off the old roof and installing the new roof. The crew was professional and efficient, and each member of the crew was experienced in the job they were doing. The yard was constantly monitored for debris and was disposed of promptly. Richard Baker was at our house inspecting the job numerous times through out the day. As promised the job was completed in one day. A small area of the gutter was damaged and we advised Richard Baker. He arranged for his gutter man to repair the gutter. The repair was done promptly and in fact so well, that we could not even see the area that had been previously damaged. We are completely satisfied with the roof and we would not hesitate to recommend Richard Baker Roofing to anyone and would definitely use his Company again for any future roofing needs. We never had thought of a roof as beautiful, but now that the roof has been replaced by Richard Baker Roofing, we feel that we have a beautiful roof.

It was excellent. Mr. Baker promised me that he would build us a better roof and do a better job of it, and he certainly did. He gave us a lot of information about the materials he used, he introduced his foreman to us and told us about his extensive background, and went over the terms of the warranty with us in detail. He gave us a rundown on the shingle manufacturer he uses. He was honest, he always seemed to have time to answer questions, and we were immediately very comfortable with both Baker Roofing Company and his product. He gave us addresses on West Beach if we wanted to go see his work. He also handled, from start to finish, the "Windstorm Inspection" that is mandatory in Galveston for construction projects, a real help to me, as our neighbors all had to arrange for this themselves after Ike. Working with Richard Baker was a very positive experience, especially with such a stressful event for us. I have referred Richard Baker and Baker Roofing Company to a business affiliate for a flat roof on his warehouse. Without hesitation, I definitely recommend Baker Roofing Company for any roofing needs.

It went very well overall. Mr. Baker explained every step, every detail, to us before the work got started, he gave us an upgraded roof, created ridge vent that we did not have previously, and explained that he would make sure his crew did every specification correctly on the roof installation to merit us a Lifetime Warranty. Mr. Baker even offered to transfer our warranty to our new buyers upon closing, explaining that there is a one-time transfer without a fee. Our buyers were delighted with this. Mr. Baker was diligent, courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. He was as concerned as we were that the roof be replaced in time for a reinspect by our buyers' inspector and meet our original closing date on the sale of our home. His crew showed up at the exact time and date previously discussed, and Mr. Baker himself was at our home most of the day the roof was put on as well. Richard gave us several nearby addresses, names and phone numbers, which is rare, so that we could ask previous clients of his how they liked his work and how it went. There were numerous previous clients in this area, we drove by about half of the references Richard gave us, and spoke to four of the households-all four highly recommended him and had indeed either recommended him to co-workers, family members, and friends, or had him return to do more work of some sort on their properties. Several had had him also replace the roofs on their second homes in Galveston. A couple had had him do roof work on their family businesses. From start to finish, it took about a week for us to select shingle color and for Baker Roofing Company's crew to show up and replace our roof. I respected that fact that on the pre-appointed day to roof, there was a 35% chance of rain, so we were automatically delayed a day. The crew was courteous, they left our property cleaner than it was when they got they got there, the price was exactly what Richard Baker said it would be, we have a beautifully upgraded roof that really stands out on our street and I have referred several neighbors to him at this point. I have a lifetime warranty on my new roof which applies to shingle damage, windstorm speeds, and more. Richard went over every detail of the warranty with us to make sure we understood each paragraph of it, he registered the warranty for us, I cannot say enough about Richard Baker's customer service and attention to detail.

From the start , the people were clear, courteous, and clear. The work was done in a very timely manner, they came out with all of the tools and materials to do the job. Then when there was an issue they jumped right on it and stood by their work. I am very pleased. I became a member of Angie's List in order to find a company to repair the roof of our townhouse which is a three-story dwelling. The person who took my payment for membership offered t email me a list of roofers with high marks based on client feedback. The list included Baker Roofing Company. We were in need of roof repair because I noticed a foot-long stain which appeared on the ceiling of our living room, which is two stories high. The stain was directly under the ridge line of the roof. I called several roofing companies to discuss and evaluate the condition of the roof. Mr. Baker seemed more genuinely concerned about resolving my problems than the other people with whom I consulted. Upon inspecting the roof it was discovered that squirrels had completely eaten away a portion of the roof ridge line so that the attic was exposed to the open air. Additionally, our roof jacks were askew and several vents wee in need of sealing. Our roof is sixteen years old, but Mr. Baker found that the larger surface area of the roof was still in good condition. During a subsequent phone conversation he offered several financial options which allowed us to carefully consider how much refurbishing we could afford. We chose an option that insures that the life of our roof will stay intact for at least another five years before we need to have an entire new roof installed. Once we agreed on how extensively to repair the roof, Mr. Baker's crew came the next working day. They finished in a timely manner and left no debris behind. Mr. Baker gave us the impression that he takes pride in his work because he uses above standard materials and cares about the aesthetic appeal of his newly constructed roofs. In our neighborhood he replaced the roof of a nearby business housed in an older home. I went to the site of the business to observe his work. The new roof he placed on the historic building modernized the structure yet preserved the integrity and appearance of the original house. Unfortunately, the builders of our new house did not provide gutters on the backside of the house. We asked Baker Roofing to install gutters. Baker Roofing installed the gutters on time and professionally. The workers completed the work neatly and left no debris after the work was done. The work crew was polite and responsive to our questions. We made a modification to the planned design without any hassle after the crew started work. We have had a couple of rainy days after the gutters were installed and the gutters have performed great! He have had no problems at all with the gutters. We were very pleasantly surprised that the gutters matched exactly the color of the roof and the stucco walls giving a seamless look. The gutters that Baker Roofing installed in fact look better than the original gutters installed in the front of the house by the builder. The gutters complement the appearance of the house. We are using Baker Roofing to replace the roof on a another house.

Baker Roofing had been used by several of our neighbors and their estimate was very competitive with other area roofers. The roofs that they had completed in the neighborhood were attractive and my neighbors were very pleased. The crew arrived on time, completed the job on time and did an excellent job on the clean up. Pictures were taken of all repairs to the roof deck ? I thought that was a nice touch. The debris was removed in a timely manner and very few nails got past their cleanup process. In the Spring of 2010, two of my neighbors were having their roofs replaced due to storm damage. That is when I met Richard Baker who was installing the new roofs. They decided to replace a couple more roof jacks than originally estimated but did not charge me extra. I really appreciated that. They replaced roofs for my two neighbors after a hail storm. I asked them to inspect my roof for damages and they gave the roof a thorough inspection. They determined I did not need the new roof. I had them do a small repair to remove some equipment from the roof and replace the shingles and they completed this work quickly and cleaned all debris. Although I had a really small job, they served me with a high level of service. They were honest in their estimate, and I felt I paid a fair price for the work done. I would recommend Baker Roofing for any roofing job. My neighbors new roofs look beautiful and I would definitely use them for a larger job as well.
