"The quality of workmanship is non existent. Save yourself a ton of $ by choosing a different company. No warranties or guarantees are given by this company, despite what comes out of the owners mouth. Does not take responsibility for HIS services, blames everything and everyone else for his lack of work ethics or standards. Will not ensure the longevity of your concrete or the aesthetics. Substandard. Non existent customer service or satisfaction. The service I requested was to replace a driveway with a crack only to get from Guerra is a driveway with multiple cracks and damage to my existing foundation!"

General Contractor Specializing in Remodeling, New Construction & Renovations - Demolition & Site Prep Services

"Borco came out and gave me a quick and detailed quote. They provided a few options on this phase, and we chose one to move forward. They showed up when scheduled, communicated updates and actually finished a little before schedule even with rain hitting at the end causing them problems. I appreciate that they stayed working and didn’t make excuses. Job Well Done. Borco will be getting the next phase from me!"

"I am making this complaint against Rigid Concrete due to the fact that they did not perform the complete service for which they were paid and breach of contract. Rigid Construction was paid a total of $13,550.00 to complete a concrete foundation for a metal building structure. They were paid $6,775.00 on November 7, 2024, by my credit card and $6,775 on November 25, 2024 by my husband’s credit card. The owner John Garza started the job and we thought things were progressing well, but then he was not returning our calls or text on many occasions when we were trying to get an update on the status of the job. We were given every excuse possible for the delay. We have also been given three different phone numbers from him and he has used the excuses of lost phones, family emergencies, the weather, and so many more things as to why he had not completed the pouring of the concrete pad which per the contract should have been completed on November 23, 2024. Even with the various delays and a promise to complete the job we paid the final payment on November 25th and was told he would schedule the pour right away. We were told several days later that he had scheduled the pouring. The pour did not happen. We had been asking him repeatedly for a pour date which he did not give us. He then told us one day that he had to cancel the pour because a plumber had not put in a tube yet. He never called or told us he had scheduled the concrete or called and told us prior to cancelling that the plumber did not show. The plumbing contractor said that he didn’t come out that day because it was raining, and there was no way that Rigid could have poured that day, no contractor would cancel a concrete pour for such a thing without first contacting the owner and in his opinion Rigid was obviously lying and just giving us some excuse. Rigid Concrete was given the name and phone number of Safeguard Metal Buildings who is the company we purchased the metal building from, and they were supplied the building contractors specifications for the required concrete foundation to make sure the foundation was built correctly prior to the framing being completed. Rigid said they spoke to Safeguard and were aware of the requirements. We informed him that we were going to be onsite December 18, 2024 and needed to have the job completed while we were there. When he did not respond to our calls or texts, we had other contractors and inspectors come out to the property to inspect the framing. We found out that Rigid was planning to pour the concrete on the framing without doing the critical and required contractual duties to assure that the concrete foundation is strong enough to support the structure that is supposed to be built on it. They did not follow the required specifications. We were told that Rigid Concrete has not done what they should have done and the framing they built should be removed and redone correctly because it would not support the weight of the building. Rigid Concrete excavated the land too much and built the framing to low below the ground level which would cause the structure to flood when it rains. They informed us that they should not have dug out dirt to level the land but should have added dirt to level the land and have the foundation either at the same level as the rest of the land or higher."

Concrete driveway services FAQs

Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.

A concrete driveway lasts between 25 and 30 years, provided you maintain it correctly. Other factors that impact the lifespan of a concrete driveway include your location’s climate and the amount of wear and tear it receives. Heavier vehicles, like RVs and trucks, notoriously create more wear and tear than lighter vehicles and, therefore, might reduce the concrete driveway’s overall lifespan.

With proper maintenance, exterior concrete steps can last 25 to 50 years or more. In most cases, your steps will require some minor repairs over that time frame, including sealing surface cracks and resurfacing to keep them in good condition. Interior concrete steps should last even longer, usually between 50 and 75 years, as they don’t have to stand up to the elements.

The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15 per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.

For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.

The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9 per square foot

For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.

You may want to hire a concrete floor contractor to check out your home’s concrete surfaces or inspect your home’s foundation for minor damages that they can fix while on site. They may be able to fix cracks in your driveway or garage floor the same day they fix your concrete steps, as well. General concrete repair experts usually won’t be able to handle larger jobs, like leveling a sunken foundation, so you’ll need to hire a structural engineer for bigger projects.
