very quick on coming out for a free estimate - once we made the decision to go with them, they were patient enough to wait for our homeowners association approval as well as our neighbors. job was done within 48 hours.

They did a very good job with installing a fence. It still looks good today.

I have used Houston Fence Co. for years to make occasional repairs to our electric gate. No more. Something has gone terribly wrong with the way this company does business...You cannot get a human being on the phone if you don't know the proper extension. Even to make an appointment you need to leave a message and someone MAY get back to you the next day. The appointment makers go home at 4:00 even though the published buisness hours are until 6:00. The first time, I paid $180 for a trip charge. Diagnosis: ants in the control box destroyed the computer board. Next day I had the ants exterminated and called for the repair. Took over a week for them to return my call and get someone back out here, charge $800+. One week later the gate is malfunctioning again. Another call to voicemail, this time it was returned the next day. 2 more days for the service man to come out on a warrenty call. He was unfamiliar with my type of e quiptment and promised to have someone else come and check it out.The following week the origonal service man showed up (poor guy is overworked and spread thin and seemed personally embarrassed by the situation) and he says now we have a broken arm, he'll get back to me on the cost and options. That was Monday...after numerous calls and messages, today(Weds) I got a call back from the repair man with the bad news: $1000 to replace the arm.I am frustrated with the complacent attitude of the office and management staff and the difficulty in communications with this company. Beyond the fact that I've invested $1,100+ and weeks of playing telephone tag, MY GATE IS STILL BROKEN. I discussed my frustration with the manager, who just agreed with me. Save yourself some $ and the aggrevation: DON'T USE HOUSTON FENCE COMPANY

Work was poorly completed and customer service does not exist. They broke a sprinkler head and left a gap between the new fence and the neighbor's old fence. I discovered the broken sprinkler as they had attempted to hide the damage. I made numerous calls and e-mails in an attempt to get the situation resolved. Most of my e-mails and calls were ignored and the few that were returned promised to remedy the problems but nothing was done. I finally threatened legal action after a month and managed to get their attention. The problems were eventually fixed. Truly the worst customer service and work quality I have ever experienced. Do not hire these guys.

Was told the job would be a 1 to 2 day project. It took nearly 9 months of on again, off again work for it to be completed. Day 1, 2 subcontractors with limited English, incomplete supplies and little support left with the job only partially complete. They removed the old fence, but failed to remove all of the old fence post stumps; installed the new wooden fence but ran out of wood to complete; didn't use enough cement in the post holes so the fence wobbled; miscut the new wooden gate so it didn't fit the gate opening and instead nailed a temporary panel in place to plug; didn't have the caps for the metal fence so posts were open to the elements (quickly started to rust); and used a metal gate kit that looked terrible. Found Company reps to be adversarial and they suggested that I was being too picky. Only after months of calls, emails and 5 subsequent Houston Fence visits to my house did they get the job done. Life is too short to have to deal with Houston Fence. Caveat emptor!

Installation of the arched section required homeowner's supervision. Work order specified installation of 3 rails, Houston Fence initially installed only 2 rails and was made to redo by homeowner. After finishing installation job site was left littered with drink cups and bottles. 3 weeks later posts in arched section started to warp, crack, twist and bend out of plumb. Upon request homeowner sent Houston Fence a list of items to be fixed. No response for 5 weeks. Only after homeowner involved credit card company to get the money back and numerous emails, Houston Fence reluctantly replaced the posts to our specifications. Over the course of several weeks Houston Fence also had to adjust the gates at least 6 times. Total time of installation was 7 months.

I was really pleased. The work was very acceptable. They did not leave a mess.

I called and requested an estimate to have a 6' tall fence with a gate to be built along the breezeway between the house and the garage. No one ever returned my call.

Houston Fence took my call quickly and came around to give an estimate. Their prices were a bit high, but the fences were beautiful and they offered the lifetime posts. The fence was scheduled as soon as the fencing materials were available and the workers were on time. They unloaded the fencing materials, posts, other equipment and tools and got to work. They did a beautiful job on the fence, and I paid extra for the gates, but they warped and I called them to come back out and fix them, but they continue to ignore my calls. I've had to put boards underneath the gates to keep them closed, and I most certainly would not recommend this company to anyone.

I called the company to come out and install a wrought iron fence around 3 sides of my yard. The fence looks good, and they got it done in a timely manner. They're a little more expensive than most places, but they do good work. The only problem was that they did the fence next door at the same time, and they used my electricity for it. They were supposed to adjust my bill for it and never did. I'm still trying to get them to do it.

THERE WAS AN ERROR ON THE ESTIMATE, WHICH I POINTED OUT ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I WAS WRONG. 3 DAYS LATER WHEN THE SALESMAN CAME TO GET THE DEPOSIT, I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A MISTAKE AND THE JOB WILL BE $300 MORE. THERE WAS SOME CONFLICT ABOUT THE DAY THE WORK WAS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN, AFTER CALLING THE OFFICE AND THREATENING TO PULL THE JOB, THERE WAS A WORK CREW ON THE AGREED UPON DAY. THE WORK CREW WAS COURTEOUS AND DID A VERY NICE JOB. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE FENCE: IT IS LEVEL AND CORRECT. I AM NOT SO IMPRESSED WITH THE SALESPEOPLE AND THEIR TACTICS.

WHEN HE CAME TO LOOK AT THE AREA, HE WAS RUSHING ME TO DECIDE AND I SAID I NEED TO DISCUSS IT WITH MY SON. HE SAID THE PRICES WILL BE GOING UP, BECAUSE THEY DO A LOT OF WORK WITH BUILDERS AND THIS WAS THE BUSY SEASON.

DEAN WALLACE PRESENTED DETAILED AND PROFESSIONAL CONTRACT FOR WORK AND MATERIALS NEEDED AND JOB COST. TWO WORKMEN ARRIVED ON TIME. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO SEE THESE MEN WORK. NO WASTED MOTION. NO HORSEPLAY. NO GOOFING OFF. BOTH KNEW WHAT HAD TO BE DONE AND GOT ON WITH IT. I'M VERY SATISFIED WITH END RESULT OF THEIR WORK.

VERY GOOD JOB. MADE GATE THAT FITS AND LOCKS. NEW FENCE IS NICE.
