the guy showed up exactly on time and went up in my attic after i explained the problem i was having. after about 20 minutes he came down and said "well, I don't really know what the problem is but the heat strips aren't working and to repair that you need to replace the heat strips and the mother board but the entire system really needs to be replaced. the heat strips show signs of mold and i refuse to work in that condition. You really need to replace your entire HVAC system inside and out. I explained to him that the electronic motherboard was replaced just a year ago and he said "that doesn't matter it would need to be replaced again". I told him to give me an estimate on doing just the heat strips and motherboard because i couldn't financillay afford replacing the entire system at this time. He again told me that he refused work on the heat strips that showed mold and again encouraged me to replace the entire system. I told him again that i would need an estimate on both, the heat strips/ motherboard and on replacing the entire system. with a disgusted look on his face (true story) he sat down and wrote and estimate for "aprox" $3,000 for the heat strips/motherboard and $8200 for the entire system....on a piece of notebook paper. no company logo, not his name, no phone number, no estimate number....nothing.....just 2 sentences on a piece of plain notebook paper. before committing to spending $3000, i called another company from Angies list for a second opionion. They came to my house, went up in my attic, came down after about 20 minutes and told me..." the heat strips do show mold but the problem is the unit is wired to the "low power circuit and your thermostat is wired for "medium power" so the "low power" is burned out. I rewired it from the "low power" to the "medium power" to match your thermosat and the unit is working fine now". "i can give you an estimate for replacing the heat strips and total HVAC replacement now, and you should consider doing the repairs, but the unit could last several more years with no problems." I will only charge you for an inspection/tuneup for today." so my repairs went from $8200 with Morrow Mechanical.....down to $75 with the other company. MORROW MECHANICAL IS NOTHING BUT A RIPOFF AND NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM ANGIES LIST FOR BEING UNETHICAL. people go to Angies list to get honest and reliable services. Morrow Mechanical is neither.

My AC stopped running and I had another company - One Hour Air Conditioning came out and tried find the problem. They spent over 2 hours and charged $240 for a leak test and could not find the problem. They recommended to replace copper line for $1400. When performing the leak test they did not pressurize the system(all freon had leaked out) which I understand is a requirement for a leak test. This is why they couldn't find the leak. I had watched the technician from One Hour Air Conditioning and did not have a good feeling that he ran the leak test correctly so I called Morrow Mechanical. Arick from Morrow Mechanical arrived on time and within 30 minutes found the leak. Their price to repair seems to be fair from other estimates I have received.

When the technician arrived, I led him to the unit outside and left him to take a look at it. A few minutes later, he called me outside, showed me some frayed wires on the outside of the unit, wiped his fingers across the pipe supplying the freon inside and said I had a leak, and told me I basically needed a whole new AC system outside. Then, I showed him the coil in the attic, he took some photos with his phone and climbed back out, and said that the best option was to replace both the coil in the attic and the unit outside. The whole visit lasted approximately 20 minutes. As he was packing his tools, I asked if he could provide me with some pricing options I could discuss with my husband, and he told me that he doesn't usually do that, but he could write some things down for me. He came back about five minutes later with a hand-written sheet of options and his card, telling me to call him anytime, day or night, with my husband, so we could discuss our options. The list contained entirely new systems ranging from the outrageous (about the price of a new car), to the semi-reasonable (about the price of a five year old used car). I called my husband to tell him the news, and he said he wanted a second opinion, so we called another company to come out the next day. Meanwhile the temperature in the house had risen to 82 degrees. A family member came to take a look at the AC that evening so we could sleep in the house without being uncomfortable, and we found out that the technician never even tried to reattach the frayed wires, and the breaker for the AC outside was never turned back on. After we reattached the wires ourselves, cleaned the outside coil of debris, and turned the breaker back on, our AC works quite well. My review would have been much more positive if it wasn't so clear that the technician just wanted to sell me a new system (as evidenced by the failure to even try getting the wires reattached and turn the system on at the breaker, essentially leaving me as uncomfortable as possible in my home and desperate for any solution). There were other solutions to the problems I was having than a full system replacement, and the diagnostics run by the technician were not thorough or technical in any way. At no point did I see any gauges hooked up to my machine to prove I had a freon leak, no evidence that the system in the attic had any issues which required a full replacement, and no proof that the outside system required a full replacement.
Description of Work: I called to have my AC serviced because it was blowing 80 degrees inside. The technician came to diagnose the problem the same day I called and arrived earlier than expected.

We would like to thank you for your feed back about the situation at your home. Our customers feedback is very important to us in understanding what is going on with our technicians. The team at Morrow Mechanical would like to apologize for the way he performed. We strive everyday to provide our customer with the best service possible. Unfortunately that did not happen in your case and we are truly sorry. We interview many people throughout the year and unfortunately sometimes people who do not share our values make it onto our team. The way he performed at your home was not what we teach at Morrow Mechanical. He should of presented you with all your options that included repairing the system and allowed you to make an educated decision. Upon leaving your home he should have put the system back the way he found it. If you happen to need an AC company in the future please give us a call. We would love to make it up to you.

From start to finish, Morrow Mechanical was extremely professional. I was informed of many different options and recommendations for repairing or replacing a blown furnace. Ultimately, I decided to replace the furnace. The costs were in line with other research I had done and they were able to come out for install the day after I decided to replace the furnace. The installers worked very diligently, were extremely professional, and tidy. The installers were even considerate of a sleeping baby in a nearby area. All and all, I am very happy with the work that was done and will use Morrow Mechanical again in the future.

I called Morrow Mechanical on Monday May 11, 2015 to schedule a check up of my AC unit. Talked to Jenny and set the appointment for Thursday May 14, 2015. They were supposed to show up between 9:00 and 11:00 AM. On May 14. 2015 at 12:00 I called and talked to Jenny again and was told she could not find the appointment. She did apologize but offered no incentive to reschedule the appointment that already had cost me 1/2 wasted day. I would be careful of a business that does not honor the 5% senior discount shown on Angie's list, can't keep track of appointments, and offers no recourse to customers when they cost you 1/2 of your day. Update -- Don't want to get into a he said they said but--- Jenny did apologize for the missed appointment but she did not state that she could have someone here in an hour. The reason for not rescheduling is she offered nothing for wasting my day and no assurances that they would show up next time. As for the 5% senior discount we are not talking much money but the web page says 5% discount for seniors, no exclusions, just 5% discount. I guess I just look at it as how this company stands behind what they are offering on Angie's list.

Mr. [member name removed], We do apologize for the mistake and we did offer to reschedule or have a technician out within the next hour. Unfortunately you declined and stated that you were going with another company. Jenny did explain why the 5% discount did not apply to the already discounted tune up. If you would like the 5% discount off the full price tune up we'd be more than happy to do that for you, but we offered you the better deal of current special. We also explained that the 5% discount could be used off any repairs that were done.

Set up a/c check up the week before. Told to make sure I was there between 1 and 3 pm. I think we know where this is going. Received call at 2:30 and was told the tech ran into problems on another job and would be delayed. Next call I received was at 4:55 and was told he could not make my call. Was asked to reschedule. I said ok,but could I not be charged or get a discount. Was told they could not do that. What about my time. Felt they should have somehow taken care of the customer who was not at fault. Incidently I had them install new unit on another house last summer, which cost a pretty penny.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], we see that we had our technician out on April 11, 2016 and we are glad to see that the system is working and cooling properly for you. We apologize we were uninformed about your feelings about the installation initially, we were not aware that you were questioning if the system was running properly immediately afterwards. We are working on improving our response time and staying informed of our customers needs. We apologize for the inconvenience of having to reschedule, we don't normally reschedule our customers. Rarely do we depending on extreme weather and an extremely high call volume. We appreciate your understanding about the situation and we appreciate you choosing us to install your equipment and look forward to servicing your home in the future.

My home is only seven years old, yet I have never been happy with the builder's grade HVAC system that came with the home. I wanted control of the temperature in individual rooms of the home, so I had Morrow Mechanical install a new Lennox icomfort/harmony 3 system, with better warrantees than my previous system (which had expired after five years). This week, when it became apparent that I would have to sink more money into my old system for a new AC motor, I decided to replace the entire system. Even though this was not cheap and I did not receive the furnace I thought I was to get, I am very happy with this system. It functions well and solves my HVAC problems, hopefully for many more years to come. Morrow Mechanical was prompt, courteous, and did a great job, as they always do. I was not given a sales pitch in order for me to desire this system. I had been complaining about my old system every time my semi annual HVAC visit was made. I am happy I made this change, and I am pleased with Morrow Mechanical. They are my HVAC people for now and for years to come. UPDATE: after I called them asking for some tweaking to my system, they were prompt to come and do that at no charge to me. Now my new system works very well. I am so happy I got this done by such a quality company as Morrow Mechanical.

Service technicians showed up exactly on time for the installation. I had used the company before with a smaller airco system and was very satisfied with the work and price, so this was a repeat job, They did the project as I had exspected from them: speedy and clean. Came with a free 12 months service contract for both heat and air. I will certainly renew the contract thereafter

Excellent! They were professional, courteous, and competitive with their pricing. One unit was found to have a manufacturing defect in the evaporator coil, which became evident after several weeks of being in service. Morrow Mechanical promptly replaced the coil when I notified them that I was having a problem. My dealings with Morrow Mechanical have been excellent: they are honest; they have integrity, and have looked out for my interests. I will continue to use them. In choosing a HVAC system, brand is not as important as having the system properly installed. Morrow Mechanical did find several problems in the original installation which they corrected. I do look forward to many years of trouble free service.
Description of Work: They removed two 12 year old HVAC systems from my house and installed two brand new Lenox HVAC systems. The duct work was reused, but they removed everything else (condensers, furnaces, plenums, transitions, thermostats) and installed new equipment. Air conditioning duty for each system is 2 tons.

Went very well. People from Morrow are very professional and know what they are doing. They are on time. When they come into the house to go into the attic to check the AC system they covered their boots with slip on covers so they would not track into the house. They identified and fixed minor problems on the same visit of the tune up and inspection. The AC system has performed very well this summer after the tune up. We have saved money on the electricity bill. Our electricity bill is noticeably cheaper after the tune up. The AC system even though it is over 13 years old is effectively cooling the house and running efficiently now.

Last week it died. We have a toddler now and infant twins. The guy came out very quickly and within the timeframe promised, but told us there was nothing he could do to revive the unit. Since the last patch was a last-ditch effort, we believed him. He then went on to try to sell us a new one to the tune of almost $8k (which is expensive for a 14seer 5-ton unit). He kept trying to close the sale by telling us that bc we have little ones, he could get us loaner portable units if we signed up. He even tried to seal the deal by waiving his $59 diagnostic fee. There was something salesman-y about his pitch and he was not one of the guys who had come out before, so we decided to wait (we have an emergency window unit) and shop around. We lined up 2 appts with other companies the next day and the first guy diagnosed and fixed our problem within 1/2 hr. He also cleaned out the unit and topped off our freon for $250. We thought we were shopping for prices for a new unit (at this point, we still trusted Morrow and planned to get other prices to see if Morrow could match them), but we didnt actually need one. We are so disappointed in Morrow and the salespitch we almost believed. Given the service we have received in the past, we believe that it might just be that one technician but we now have a new AC company and won't be back.
Description of Work: Our AC died 2 years ago and based on the reviews here, we called Morrow. They came out and got us up and running with what they called a last-ditch patch. We have since had them come and clean our unit annually - we did not buy into their contract. Up until last week, we were very happy with their service, which makes me think it might just depend on which person comes out.

He wasn't interested in offering a solution. He gave a wrong diagnosis of the problem and would not provide what the cost to remedy the problem. The technician was more interested in selling a new system. So he gave an approximate cost to the problem of $600 -$1000. I checked the internet for the cost of the part he said needed to be replaced. It cost no more that $150. This guy was a rip-off artist extraordinaire. I would just like to say though that the technician who came to do maintenance work a couple of months or so earlier was much better and more professional. I will not use this company again.

I called Morrow Mechanical in response to a flyer I received in the mail - after I read the reviews on Angie's List. The appointment was scheduled between 11:00AM and 1:00PM the Monday after I called. I received a call at 10:00AM on the day of the appointment, and was told that the technician would arrive within 45 minutes if that was OK. Jim, the technician, arrived at 10:45AM. He introduced himself, requested information as to where our air conditioner and heating systems were located and began working. He checked all systems and reported that all were working well. We expected no problems as the air conditioner was replaced in 2011, but have always done an annual tune up to prevent problems. Jim also re-taped the exterior lines, as the old tape was beginning to show deterioration, at no additional charge. He was personable and professional. He was here for just over an hour and completed all items promised for the $59.00 special as noted on the flyer. I don't usually respond to flyers I receive in the mail, but since this company was highly rated on Angie's List I decided to give them a try, and I'm glad I did.

The Tune-up and safety check is a complete scam. If your system is currently working, they don't do anything that would insure that it will continue to work. If it breaks down, they say they will refund your money or apply it toward the repair bill.( They didn't do eiither for me) They call it a guarantee but they don't provide any guarantees for any of their work. They just take your money and count on the odds of something going wrong. Then, if something does go wrong, they get the first shot at the repair. It is a very good scam, but still, just a scam. The service man didn't even do the items on their list. One of my units is leaking freon. I had to tell them that. Then, I had to tell the service man how to locate the leak. They wanted at least twice what a reputable company would charge to fix the problem. The coil is leaking. The manufacturer will furnish a new coil for free because it is under warranty. These people wanted $1200 to replace it and they wouldn't guarantee their work. The service man talked to the owner and told me to call him, that he agreed to refund my money. I called but he wasn't available. I left my number but fortunately, I didn't hold my breath. After two weeks, he hasn't returned by calls. So much for their refunds and customer service. Just a scam. No refunds, no return calls, no guarantees.

The Customer originally called our company for a tune-up. When our technician arrived at the home the system was not cooling the home to which the customer was already aware of. From there the call changed from a tune-up to diagnosing why the system was not cooling properly. A leak was located in the evaporator coil. The customer was given the options including replacing the coil under manufactures parts warranty. Unfortunately the labor and Freon and misc material that are associated with installing the coil are not covered under warranty. The customer believed that since our Tune-up letter stated that we guarantee our work from breakdowns that the coil replacement should be done for free. We do guarantee our work from break down, the problem with this situation is that the system was already broke when we first arrived to the customers home. How can we guarantee a system will not break when its already broken? We have attempted to contacted the customer but have failed to reach him. We would like to speak with them about the matter to bring about a resolution.

I had a technician come out because my AC was not blowing very cold. He came out and tested my freon levels and said it was low and the I had a leak. He told me where the leak was coming from and gave me a few options. I could recharge the system, replace the leaking coil, or let it. He told me they charged ~$95/ lb for freon which is ridiculous! Come to find out most companies buy this stuff for ~$10/ lb. He explained that he could not tell me how long it would last by just putting more freon in which I understand. What got to me was how he kept trying to pressure me into a more expensive replacement of the coils by suggesting that the freon might only last days or possibly weeks. He wanted $3000 to replace the coils which again is a ridiculous price. Then when I asked about some pricing for new units so I had an idea of what I would be looking at one day and suddenly that was option A for him. I think this is a very shady way of doing business to prey on those less experienced.

Our technician arrived at your home, made the correct diagnosis as to why the system was not working and gave you options to repair. One of the options was to add R-22 Refrigerant back into your system without addressing the leak. Recharging the system without fixing the leak is something that we rarely do because of the cost and the fact that recharging a leaking system is not a solution that can be guaranteed. There is no way to determine how soon the refrigerant will leak out again. Never the less, the price for recharging was given although not correctly stated. Another option given was to replace the evaporator coil in order to eliminate the leak and give you a longer lasting solution. The third option given which is a more permanent solution was to replace both the condensing unit and evaporator together. This option addressed not only the leak, but the elimination of the older R-22 refrigerant which is expensive. I do not understand how correctly diagnosing your problem, describing all your options, and give you pricing accordingly and allowing you to make an educated decision is a shady form of business. Our company works hard at providing customers great service by offering all solutions that best fits them and their family. Sincerely, The Morrow Mechanical Service Team

I used them before for repairs and I was impressed with them. One guy came out to fix the heater. He didn’t take long and he knew what he did. They didn’t overcharge for what they did. They were excellent. I couldn’t have asked for a better job. They came in and they got it done. They had 4 guys working on it and they had the whole thing done in an afternoon. I was very impressed in every category.
Description of Work: I had Morrow Mechanical come and install a new HVAC system. They replaced the AC and the heater on both upstairs and downstairs unit.

We have used Morrow Mechanical for several years since they installed our new air conditioning system. They are very professional and honest. They don't try to sell you anything but an inspection contract. I'm OK with that because it reminds me to get my system inspected twice a year. I also like their iPad invoicing. They just enter the data and you get an email receipt.
