I arrived home at 4:30pm and it was about 100 degrees outside on the Friday of a Labor Day weekend. My wife was cooking dinner. The A/C had failed while she was in the middle of the cooking. I checked Angie's list for a reputable A/C company near my home. Called Morrow Mechanical and someone was on their way within an hour. I had never used this company before, but they took care of me immediately. Technician arrived on time and despite it being so hot and being late in the day, he was clean and neat. He went to work immediately without me having to show him the a/c units, the panelbox, or the attic.. When he found the problem he brought the failed capacitor in the house along with a proposed replacement. The technician explained the problem, gave me a price and installed the part. Subsequently he checked the rest of the a/c system to make sure it was working property. He informed me of a couple of potential future problems - as a heads-up - he did not try to sell me anything else. The whole job took less than an hour. The tech even reminded me to print out Morrow Mechanical's Angie's List coupon to save $27.50. My wife and I are thrilled with the service and professionalism. Over the years I have had many a/c companies try to sell me new evaporator coils when nothing serious was wrong with my systems. I really dreaded having to call a stranger to get the a/c fixed. The whole experience has been positive. If we ever need to turn the furnace on, I will call Morrow Mechanical to check out those too.
Description of Work: A/C system was not working at all. Technician identified problem as a failed capacitor and brought me the failed part and the proposed replacement and price for my approval before any work was done. After I approved the repair, he checked the entire system (2 a/c's) to make sure everything was correct. I was charged only for the failed part and the technician's time to effect the repair.

technician was very good. Hard working, on time, thorough. Didn't try to sell me a new unit like all other service companies in the area have done. Looked at my second unit complimentary. I had delayed routine checkup becasue the other technicians were so bad, not this guy. Will definitely keep up with them.

We were very pleased. Glenn seemed really interested in doing a good job and did not try to upsell us on any thing. In fact, because the overflow line continued to drip afterwards, (clearing previous condensation) Glenn camne back out, ON A FRIDAY EVENING no less, and declared nothing to be concerned about. My only regret is that I did not tell my wife about the little Angie's coupon and it would have made the deal a little cheaper.
Description of Work: Our A/C overflowed due to clogged drain lines and was causing damage in the ceiling and down the wall. I called anothe service that morning and said they'd be right over. Five - six hours later, the guy called my wife at home (not me) and told her he was not coming. I called Morrow based on Angie's and our neighbor's recommendation. They set up a time. Glenn came out when he said he would. Suggested, but did not install, a ceiling saver switch, but gave me a quote with and without. After getting the lines unclogged, he recommended against it.

Had used MM in the past for routine HVAC/Heating checkups so I felt comfortable calling them when my 11 year old 5-ton unit for downstairs finally decided to call it a day. Placed a service call on Saturday. Heard back from them on Monday and a tech was there by noon (actually had a 200pm appointment but they had a cancellation and called asking if they could come out sooner). Tech showed up and began looking around at the outside unit and upstairs. Confirmed that the condensing coil upstairs had a substantial leak and we discussed options for repair/replacement. Tech presented several options ranging from replacement of the coil for approx. $2000 to full replacement of everything. We discussed options of the most efficient models (20 SEER) down through the current least efficient models. In the end, I went with a middle of the road model (15 SEER). We went through the paperwork, payment terms, etc.. and scheduled for the install crew to show up the next day at 900am. Service tech was excellent and I really felt that he wanted to provide me with a full range of options, not just what was the best deal for MM. Next day, crew of 3 arrived on time. They introduced themselves and got to work. Some of them worked upstairs tearing down the old unit while the 3rd was outside working on that unit. There were some occasions where it was pretty loud but that has to be expected and the interruption was minimal. They were all very courteous. I tried to stay out of everyone's way but the few times that I did poke around and ask a question or something like that, I got the answer(s) that I needed. They finished up about 200PM, installed the new thermostat, cleaned up and were on the road after I got everything signed. Other than the house being nice and cool again, I couldn't tell that they had been there. Next day, a couple of guys showed up unannounced to take care of something that they couldn't do on the outside of the house. I was hoping that they were there to replace my other AC for free. Oh well. From a quality of the work that was performed standpoint, I was very happy with the work and will call them again. From a customer service standpoint, I was a little disappointed in that no one bothered to walk us through A.) how the new thermostat worked, b.) How their service plan worked (first year was included in the install price). I was also a little bummed that there was no follow up to see how satisfied we were, if there were any questions, etc.. $11K is a lot of money to me and I've made substantially smaller purchases where the vendor followed up (almost to annoyance) to make sure that we were satisfied with the work performed, the item we purchased, etc...

They had to come out to our house several times. They were professional and knowledgeable. I felt like we finally found an air conditioning company that knows the business and that doesn’t push us to buy a whole new air conditioning unit to make themselves tens of thousands of dollars. There are two units in our attic and they discovered that the reason one of the units wasn’t cooling a part of the house like it should was because it had been set up incorrectly. We have lived here for thirteen years and nobody had ever said anything about the system being installed incorrectly and that it was done wrong. They fixed it. We can’t say enough good things about them. We would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

The last time around, I had to have 6 pounds or Freon put in my system because it was out of Freon because of a leak; they patched the leak as well. I really like that they will give me a time window when they would be by the house and will also call me 30 minutes before the guy is scheduled to be here; I don’t have to leave the office early and hang around the house waiting for him. They told me that they would be there between 3:00 and 5:00, and then they called me at 4:30 and told me that he would be at my house in about 30 minutes, and sure enough, he was there. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Pleased with the mechanic's knowledge and professionalism, but disappointed in the lack of professionalism with the scheduling.
Description of Work: Originally had Morrow Mechanical come out and examined our a/c unit, which had been out since August 2010. It was determined that the compressor, which was still under warranty, needed to be replaced. We advised them that we wanted to schedule a replacement installation after a few weeks so that we could pay cash. The day they were coming out, we recieved a call from them (during the time that they were scheduled to arrive at the house). They told us that the parts were not in and that we would have to reschedule for the next Tuesday. My problem is that they didn't tell us until the DAY OF that the parts were not in (they had two weeks to get the parts, and originally told us that it would only take a few days). I was very disappointed in the lack of professionalism. However, the mechanic was extremely knowledgeable and professional, and was able to get the compressor up and running in a few hours.

It has been a great experience working with Morrow. I hired them because I read good things on Google and Angie's List and they definitely lived up to their reputation for outstanding customer service. On top of great customer service, their pricing was the best. I had some trouble initially because two-stage A/C systems are tricky to set-up, when I called Morrow to come and calibrate the system the blocked off several hours to come by and get it done right. I can't be happier with the result and would recommend Morrow to everyone.

I received an ad in the mail for an A/C Tune-up and thought I'd give them a try after reading reviews on Angie's List. I received a call before the appointment time letting me know the technician was on his way. He arrived on time at the beginning of the 2 hour arrival time window. He checked out my A/C units outside and in the attic and completed his work in about an hour. The technician was clean (even put slippers over his shoes to go on the carpet), courteous, and professional. I would call on this company again for service.

I contacted the company on Sunday using Angie's List e-mail regarding an estimate for a new AC/Furnance system. I received a call on Monday and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. I knew ahead of time that the salesman might be running late and he called to keep me informed as to when he would most likely arrive. The salesman was very professional and polite. He was not at all pushy and I felt that the company would have done a quality job. The main reason that I chose another company from Angie's List came down to price. A lot of the price difference had to do with how the system was to be installed. There is a height issue in my attic where the furnance/coils are located. The other company suggested installing a Rudd furnance because of it's shorter height and an American Standard14 SEER AC, with all other equipment American Standard. The quoted price was $6,500.00. The salesman for Morrow refused to use a furnance other than American Standard and insisted that the system had to be installed horizontal, which apparently added significantly to the cost. I was quoted $8,000.00 for a 13 SEER American Standard system. If I wanted 14 SEER, the price difference would have been $2,500.00. He insisted that I would get far better air circulation with the system installed horizontially. I made the salesman aware of the quote to use the Rudd furnance and leave everything vertifcal, but he remained adamant that he would not mix systems and that I would get better results installing the equipment horizontally. I contacted the first salesman and asked what the price would be if we went with all American Standard eqipment and installed horizontally. He insisted that there was no significant advantage to laying the system down and that he felt I would obtain good results going with the Rudd furnance and leaving the system vertical, as designed by the home's builder. I am not an expert in AC/Furnances. I had also been told by another installer that to fit most systems we would have to install horizontal, which adds to the cost since it was not how the builder configured the system. So I know the height issue was a legitimate issue. However, there was a substantial savings by using the Rudd furnace and the rest of the equipment American Standard and staying vertical. Plus, I reasoned that many people replace the AC unit only with a brand that is different than the furnance. Since I felt that both companies were reputable and had excellent reviews on Angie's List, I made my decision based on price and the review's from Angie's list. I guess time will tell whether I made a good decision. However, the other company installed the system last Saturday and the process could not have gone much smoother. Bottom line is price won out. However, had it not been for the configuration issue that caused the price difference, I am not sure which company I would have chosen.

He did a good job and gave a quote. I then checked with other companies on Angie's List and he was quoting the best equipment at the best price. My wife's family didn't want to pay and the work wasn't done. I wouldn't hesitate to use him if I needed it myself. He did a very professional job. He gave a good explanation on everything. Their price was same as the other contractors that they were using. The other contractors quoted me builder's quality which is not as good and these guys were quoting residential. The quote was $7000 which included air pumping system and a UV light on the condenser to kill any organism going on it. Everybody's price was the same except that Morrow was quoting me on residential quality and the other guys were quoting on builder's quality. It was about $800 difference. The price really was the best. They give a thorough explanation of what they are going to do and they give suggestions on why something extra might be required like the UV light. If I ever need air conditioning for my place, I would use them.

The sales rep also acted as project manager so there was no confusion over what was to be installed and when. The installation experience was great - they turned up when they said they would, replaced the complete dual-zone system within three working days and cleaned-up afterwards. The final day saw additional technicians come and go to install and check the programmable thermostats. They also followed-up quickly with documentation and certification for tax rebate application.
Description of Work: Morrow Mechanical bid for and was awarded the contract to replace my aging (circa 17 years old) dual-zone, HVAC system. They were not the lowest-priced bid, however their no-pressure approach, clarity of equipment costs and service pricing plus references from satisfied customers won them the job. They were also the most helpful in recommending the appropriate equipment sizing for the property.

On one of our first really cold evenings in January, my heater went out. I had been using Morrow Mechanical for a few years and had been warned a couple of years ago that the heater and airconditioning would not last much longer. I called them around 5PM on a Saturday and they were at the house within 2 hrs. The technician was able to get the heater to work, but said he was not sure for how long. I went ahead and placed an order for a new unit, along with a new air conditioner, since last summer we had at least 2 visits for repairs and the unit was definitely getting ready to go. I was shown several choices for purchase and guided to suggestions as to the ones that would be best for the size of my house. Once decisions were made--they said they could install it MONDAY!! Things did not work out for my schedule for the installation (and it rained and stormed Monday), but when the installers came (there were four men), the work was done neatly, quickly and with respect to my privacy. The units have great warranties and I know this company will take care of any needs I have The price for the AC was less in the winter than the summer. I cannot give them a high enough rating and recommendation. Their service for me was personal, outstanding, professional and very timely.

Will continue to use them for routine service checks. They cleaned the AC system for both units. Spent 2.5 hours testing the AC and Heater, cleaning out drains and removing excess water in units. Coils were fouled on one unit. That unit was acid washed. Other unit was just cleaned. Unit that had been acid washed had been under performing for several years but could never get an answer as to why except that is was undersized. It was not undersized just needed the coils cleaned. Works like it did 9 years ago now.
Description of Work: Serviced AC and heating system. Solved an issue that several previous could not resolve. Discovered the Hot water heater was leaking into the drip pan. Replaced NG HW unit quickly and professionally in a timely manner. Unit was 9 years old and was in the attic. It was drained removed and a new HWH replaced without incident. Three people were here. Job completed in 2.5 hours.

They spotted the problem immediately and told me what to do until he could find out more about the motor, specifically warranty. He informed me he had the parts and could come back Saturday afternoon and fix the compressor. He did come back and it was wonderful service, overall. He made sure everything was okay before he left as the freon was a concern of mine. He went up to the attic as well and checked the coils. He informed me that the company that installed those did a good job which made me feel good. He was professional, friendly, nice, and reassuring. The price was the exact one quoted and I was happy with it. I expected it to be much more. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly, called me to let me know when the technician was on his way and everyone was very professional as well.
Description of Work: He came out Friday evening ($89 for after-hours call). I had a recital to go to and they worked with me that evening. The motor on my air conditioner compressor was not working correctly.
