Ricardo with Mercado Construction spent the most time with me when I was getting estimates and he had brochures I could keep of the paver collections (rather than being told I have to look the samples up on a business website). Ricardo was professional to work with. He worked with us on the price, did everything he said he would, and stands by his work. A couple of things needed to be tweaked after they finished and he and his crew showed up the next day to take care of them. He's an honest, hard working business owner and we were very pleased with working with him and the results. This review is 1 year after the work (because I wanted to make sure the backyard continued to drain properly) and our backyard is still draining properly and our paver patio still looks great!

Excellent. I have used Mercado Construction a few times before and have always been extremely satisfied with all work and services performed. All services were performed in one day. They cleaned up and pressure washed adjacent driveway after heavy equipment was driven across to perform work requested.

Price was good, service good, and it was all completed in 1 day.

It went very well, I will use Mercado Construction again. Ricardo who is the owner provided personal attention to all aspects of the project and communicated with me throughout.

The work was done in the promised time in a very professional way. Everything was cleaned before, during, and after the work. Ricardo is a pleasant guy who knows his craft, explains what he is doing, and offers choices. I would use him again.

Great! Was finished way ahead of schedule, answered all my concerns and Ricardo and his team are the best! When the job was finished I could not even tell that they had been there and for someone as picky as I am that's saying something. Ricardo was great to work with. He was professional, punctual, always kept me informed as to the work's progress and did quality work. Ricardo worked off plans that we had drawn up and created a wonderful patio area for our new home. His team also built raised beds for our landscaping needs. We were concerned about drainage in the yard and he was able to refer another company to do the irrigation/drainage work. The two companies communicated well and scheduled their respective work well. I would highly recommend this company.

Ricardo and his guys did a fantastic job. Ricardo worked around his vacation to come to my house to give me a quote. I then went to his paver supplier who was very helpful and picked out the paver color etc. He and his crew ended up starting 1 day earlier than planned, worked for 3 days in 100 degree heat and Ricardo was hands on with them. He had some great suggestions during the design and completion of the project. I would hire him again if I ever needed more work done, no question.

They were a no call no show, he never called me back after he missed the time we agreed on. Not sure what happened

Ricardo Mercado, the owner, was prompt in coming and preparing a quote. His team was professional and they did an excellent job. They were unhurried and very meticulous in shaping the paving stones for a curved walkway. They left the job site clean, were careful with sprinkler lines, etc., and were courteous. We were very pleased and are happy to recommend Ricardo's services.

We had already heard excellent comments regarding Ricardo Mercado via our neighborhood blog. I checked Angie's List and saw equally positive reviews. The entire process in working with Ricardo was refreshingly stress-free. He was very responsive, professional and pleasant to work with. He clearly wants his customers to be happy with his work and pleased with the results. He went the extra mile in helping us decide on what pavers to use for the patio and allowed us to come out to see a home where he was completing a similar job. We found his pricing to be very reasonable (we had obtained two other quotes) and the work was done even faster than he estimated. A really conscientious guy - we would highly recommend!

Working with Ricardo was excellent! He was with another customer when I first called, but he called me back within the hour and set up a time to come and provide an estimate. While reviewing what we were wanting to do, Ricardo made several suggestions based on his experience, and we could not be happier with the results - he was right about every suggestion! It went so well....Ricardo Mercado is honest, fair, experienced ....a true professional! We are so pleased with the results.

We were planning on replacing our deck, considering wood and pavers. Ricardo came out for a free estimate within an hour of when I initially contacted him. He?s one of the nicest contractors that we?ve ever met. We really appreciated how prompt he was. He had the opportunity to put in a $20,000+ deck remodel. He actually took the measurements, showed us the paver choices, etc. He sent the estimate to us that same evening. What really impressed me was that his actual recommendation was to replace our wooden deck with the same material we already had. We live in the Woodlands with many trees in our backyard. He told us that a wooden deck would be a better choice for the area of the yard that we were using. There was no hard sell for a paver deck, just to get our business. We decided to have a wooden deck built. However, we were still interested in having an area with pavers off the deck for our fire pit. Ricardo said that he would be happy to give us another free estimate for that area. Again, he came out for a free estimate the same day that we called him. We had received several estimates for this project but his was the best price. He was able to have the entire fire pit/patio area finished the next week. It only took a few days to fit our project into his schedule and a few days to finish. Ricardo was there quite often, making sure the job was finished up to his standards. We had an adjustment that needed to be made where our hot tub was. Ricardo and his team fixed the issue immediately. Our final result to a huge wooden deck was an awesome patio/fire pit/ hot tub area off the back side. It is beautiful, looking out from our windows. Ricardo helped pick the right color of pavers for main area and the trim. They actually complement the colors of the brick on our fireplace and our siding. We appreciate his promptness, his honesty, his suggestions based on his expertise, his pricing, the quality of his work, and the time it took to get our project finished. He deserves an A+++ and I highly recommend his company!

He was very easy to work with and went out of his way to find a place that had material that matched what we had and was in stock. We think it looks great and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Ricardo and his crew were professional right from the start. They arrived at sun up each morning and worked diligently until sun down. Ricardo was present with his crew each day and also checked in with us each evening to see if we had any concerns or questions. They had great attention to detail and created the patio we had envisioned. They kept the workspace neat, cleaning up each day before leaving. We would definitely hire Mercado Construction again as well as recommend them to others.

Ricardo arrived at our home the day after my initial contact with him. He was prompt and courteous. He took his time in discussing with us our options and provided helpful suggestions. We had an estimate emailed from him within 2 days. He met my husband at the stone yard to choose the product and began work the next day. The job was completed in a day and a half and looks fabulous! I requested 3 estimates from 3 contractors from Angie's List. One never showed up but sent text and pictures but never sent an estimate. Ricardo arrived the next day to measure and discuss details. He sent an estimate within 24 hours. I had another estimate but decided to go with the more detailed estimate that Ricardo provided, as the difference in price was minimal. His workers are dedicated and thorough. The work was completed in the time specified, and he arrived daily to inspect the work completed. This crew is fantastic to deal with, and did a complete clean-up daily. My only complaint is that the workers failed to share their lunch time tacos!!

Ricardo was excellent to work with. He came out to measure the areas when he said he would be here and was prompt sending me an estimate. I accepted the estimate which was several thousand dollars less than an estimate I had from a different contractor and a potential start date was set that would work with both our schedules. We actually moved up the start date by a couple days and he finished the 5 day project on the day he was originally scheduled to start! Ricardo stopped by every day to check on the progress and to see if I had any questions or concerns. He was also available by text or phone if I had any concerns when he was not here. He responded to all concerns immediately. His crew cleaned up every day before leaving and neatly stacked all equipment they would be using the following day. When the job was completed, everything was cleaned and my patios and courtyard look fantastic. I would definitely recommend Ricardo and will use again if I have any stone work to be done.

The contractor was very prompt and professional. He removed river rock covering a broken drainage pipe located in a fenced off patio area He installed a new catch basin and pvc pipe that required cleaning out tree roots and extending the new pipe to permit adequate rain water drainage. He finished by replacing the river rock and landscape border in the patio.
