When we have needed repair work, the prices are much more economical than the company we used previously. Additionally, they clearly show you and explain the problem and what the work is that needs to be done. We have referred about 3 neighbors and they have all been very happy with Hal Watson service.

+ -1 more$88 sounds expensive for just tightening a wire but I understand they have to charge a service fee, no problems.
Description of Work: A/C would run and outdoor unit fan would not kick in, I put in a service call and a technician came out that day. It turned out to be a loose wire. I also have a service agreement that includes a winter and summer tune-up worth every penny.

+ -1 moreApproxiately a year ago we were told we needed to replae our a/c unit by another company. That was when we decided to get a second opinion. That's when we callled Hal Watson. Upon his service we disscovered that it was a small leak in the feon line. They repaired the problem and we were able to put off replacing the unit for another year. The company was very prompt coming out and giving us an estimate on a new unit, when we dicided to replace it. Upon approval of the estimate, the work was done and completed within the next two day. The service men that came out were very professional and polite. Upon completion of the work they cleaned up everything including vaccumning up the carpet. We would highly recomend them to anyone. R. + -1 moreCalled them because the upstairs AC unit was either on or off, I had replaced the thermostat, it worked for a week, and then started to do the same thing again. So, I was afraid that there was something in the system that was causing the thermostat to short. I explained this to both the person on the phone when I made the appointment, and to the technician that arrived at my house. The technician said he would look at the system and let me know. 15 minutes later he came down and handed me a bill for a new thermostat that he had installed. He never diagnosed why the previous one might have burned out, he never got my permission to install a new thermostat (I would have done it myself), and when he left he took the old thermostat with him, I had to ask him to return it to me so that I could return it to the store where I bought it as defective. Also, after he left I did a price check on the exact model of thermostat he installed. Hal Watson charged me $89, the exact same make and model on amazon, taxes, shipping, and handling included was $32. Other sites on line ranged from $25 to $38. I was disappointed with the lack of communication, customer service, and prices. That said, the new unit does seem to be working fine, so I believe that the technicin was correct that I simply had installed a defective new thermostat previously.
Description of Work: Upstairs AC thermostat was not working, they replaced.

+ -1 moreThey are excellent. They are always honest and always quick to get out here. They are professional and also top of the line. I am very pleased with them. They are very reasonably priced. They are great repair men and very courteous, professional. I have been here in this home for eighteen years and it took a long time to find a company like Hal Watson and I used others that were terrible. I would rate them high overall. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Hal Watson Ac Co Inc for replacing the capacitor in the cooling unit. The last time I used them was the last week of May this year. They have replaced four units, installed two return vents which are very big in the past.

+ -1 moreThe entire matter is in District Court. It could not have turned out any worse.
Description of Work: Hal Watson A/C installed two central air conditioning systems in my new home. They underestimated the size of the units to cool and heat the house. I complained for over a year about the inadequacy of the units before they finally had them tested. Their expert stated that the units were too small and needed to be replaced with larger units. After another extended period of time, Tyler Symens who claims to own Hal Watson A/C, agreed to replace the units. I told Tyler Symens that I would pay for the difference of his cost (difference in the WHOLESALE COSTS) of the old units and the new units. Tyler Symens, president of Hal Watson A/C agreed to that and installed the larger units. Tyler Symens, then sent me a bill for a large amount of money that would cover the RETAIL PRICE PLUS A HEFTY PROFIT for him. I do not pay a profit to people to correct their own mistakes. I asked for paper work to show me his cost of the units, he has refused to do that. He has now sued me in District Court, and I have counter filed a law suit against him to settle the matter. The trial is pending. Do not use this company. I thought that Tyler Symens would uphold the agreement on the price to change the units. He has not. His attorney has told me that if I can finally determine the wholesale prices, Tyler Symens will not accept that amount of money, even though he agreed to do so prior to the installation of the new units.

+ -1 moreWhen our upstairs A/C went out I wasn't sure what to expect. The service tech came out and did a complete check of the system. The good news was that it was only the blower motor and the actual A/C compressor was fine. The bad new was that the blower and furnance unit both had to be replaced. The unit was also installed too close to the water heater and had to be moved. On installation day the crew came on time, placed drop cloths along the entire path. The lead man was very professional and made sure everything was done properly. I've used Watson A/C for several years now, and they have always done great work at a reasonable price, but the people that have come out have always been exceptional.
Description of Work: Replaced furnance and blower motor. Relocated entire system due to water heater obstructing access.

+ -1 moreThe work was great. My husband was here and kept an eye on things. Everything looked good. They were very professional. At the end it was what they said it would be. They also made one of the returns bigger. Once the guy got here he decided that one of the returns needed to be bigger and he threw that in. We would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: We used Hal Watson AC Company to replace our whole inside and outside heating and a/c unit. It was the replacement of a Trane furnace, condenser, thermostat and parts and labor.

+ -1 moreWe called Hal Watson for an appointment as soon as possible. They did not have one for that day, but told us they would put us on the waiting list. They called about 4:00PM to let us know a technician would be there about 4:30PM. Ken (the technician) was great. He figured out the problem quickily and made the repair. He only fixed what needed to be done.
Description of Work: Our upstairs A/C stop working; it was just blowing out warm air. Ken from Hal Watson replaced our run and start capacitors on the condenser. He also washed the coils on both condensers (upstairs and downstairs) and checked the freon levels.

+ -1 moreOver all excellent work. Price was quoted in advance though not itemized (the only issue I had with the quote). It was hard to tell the price of the part versus the price of the labor. But work was done fast and well.
Description of Work: Repaired AC. Fan was not turning. Motor was replaced. Uncertain as to whether it needed to be replaced. But servicer showed that it could be manually started but not reliably so. I opted to replace the motor.

+ -1 moreI got a call when the the repairman was dispatched to let me know he was on his way. Jason arrived, introduced himself, went up in the attic and quickly determined the problem, a bad switch. He had to leave briefly to get the part, but returned and had it working in just a few minutes. He was friendly, polite and explained the problem. The service call was $79, but I ended up purchasing an Energy Savings agreement which has them thoroughly check your a/c in the Spring and heater in the Fall. That was $110.00 plus I was charged for the part, but not the service chg. No complaints, very satisfied. (BTW, the other company called me back this morning at 8:15 AM. Too late!)
Description of Work: We moved into a 5 year old home in Spring about 6 months ago and right away decided to get on Angie's List in case we needed things done. Yesterday the gas heater was on, but was blowing cold air. We weren't sure what the problem was, but definitely needed it checked. I looked on Angie's List online and called a company. Told them the situation and asked if it would be possible to have someone come out that day. She said someone would have to call me back. I waited for 3 hours and was concerned about not hearing back so I looked on the list and called another company, Watson A/C. They said someone would be out between 2 and 5.

They even recommended another route should the additional vent not work to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend Hal Watson, Co.
Description of Work: Our home was constructed with only 2 return AC vents and lousy duct work - woefully inadequate. Our master bedroom was an oven no matter where we set the thermostat. Winters are even worse. Sauna while you sleep anyone? Hal Watson, Co. quickly and efficiently installed a third return vent in our bedroom and now we can cool our room without putting everyone else in a deep freeze. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference that the vent makes this coming winter.

Description of Work: Freon was added after an inspection of the central air conditioning. The air conditioner output dropped by 20 degrees.

Description of Work: My house is about 3800 square feet. The air conditioning unit for the upstairs was not cooling at all. The contractor replaced the condenser. The work was done in about two hours.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived well within the allotted time span and introduced himself as Dusty. Very polite and professional. He checked the inside units and then went outdoors to check the coils. This may have been the only time they have been cleaned since installation 6 years ago! This is not the company that carried out the installation but the price includes a fall check up and I was happy to sign up for that.
Description of Work: Examined both air conditioning units. Brushed downstairs evaporator coil clean. Treated main drain with Pro Tabs. Washed condensing coils clean and monitored compressor and fan motors Amps.
