Appliance Rescue is a family owned and operated business dedicated to giving it’s customers the best service possible. We currently service The Woodlands and Spring areas.
We at Appliance Rescue appreciate our customers and to show it we have a “20/20 on-time guarantee”.
What this means is, we will be at your door within 20 minutes of our scheduled appointment or you get $20.00 off your bill. Repair or not. Put that on top of our 1 year warranty on parts and labor and our satisfaction guarantee, you would think there is nothing else to offer.
Wrong. Our scheduling is ON THE HOUR. We won’t give you the typical 4 hour window of arrival. We schedule our customers on EXACT times that fit their schedules.
Jake quickly determined the washer problem and gave me the cost to repair.HOWEVER, he did not recommend spending money to fix it. Instead he thoughtwe should consider a new appliance and gave some ideas on make and modelI was surprised to learn that the company did not sell units. This made hisrecommendation even more credible. I would definitely call this company again.
Description of Work: We had a failing Washer. Jake was extremely professional in evaluating the problem.

They were great. They came out when they said they would. I think it was the son that came out. It's a family business. He came out, and he was there for 40 minutes. He fixed it, left, and it works. They were reasonably priced. He was a half hour early, which was good.

We have a Whirlpool brand oven. The door handle is attached by two screws at either side. On one side these had become loose resulting in the handle coming away from the door on that side, and the screws found their way into the interior of the door. I was not sure if the door handle needed to be replaced. I called Whirlpool, gave them the serial and model numbers and set up an service appointment with one of their local agents. This turned out to be a mistake. On Friday the day of the appointment the service person was late so I called them. A good thing I did, as they were sending out a person to repair a refrigerator! I made further calls to both whirlpool and their agents only to find the next service slot for an oven repair was going to be the for the next Friday, one week later. As they had messed up this was unacceptable to me, but not to them. It was now almost 5:00 pm. On to Angie's List where we found Appliance Rescue Service. I spoke to Paul at 5:00 pm who gave me a quote and made a service appointment for Monday, the next business day at 10:00 am He arrived half an hour early. In about twenty minutes he had removed the oven door, taken it apart, recovered the screws, attached the handle, which luckily did not need replacing and put everything back together. The price was exactly as he had quoted.
Description of Work: The handle of the oven door had become detached from the door itself. The door was removed and dismantled, the loose screws recovered and used to reattach the handle, the door was replaced onto the oven.

Our stainless steel GE refrigerator side by side came with the brand new house. This is fourth year. Two months ago, the refrigerator side didn't get cool. My husband tried to fixed it couple time but each time it worked properly for only few days. We were afraid to call for a service because we thought it might cost us a lot of money. However, my husband signed up for Angies List and I started to look for a service within this area. It was surprised me because there are quite a lot of business around this neighborhood (Imperial Oaks). I looked for the review and it seems pretty helpful for me.
Description of Work: I called Alan on Monday's evening and he has sometimes available right on the next day (Tuesday). His son, Jake, called before he came. He was 45 minutes before the appointment but I was home so it worked out great. He asked what was wrong with the refrigerator so I explained and he started to performed. His uniform seems so trustful like he is a mechanic guy. He helped me took out items from the freezer and tried to figure out the problem. He found out that the defrost heater in the freezer blew out. Luckily he has a part in his car which is cost $70. I would say if you find it online maybe cheaper but he has it in hand and it is so convenient so why not. He replaced it and the refrigerator side seems to work as a normal. It is one year guarantee. He charged $80 for the labor which is reasonable. Jake is a polite guy and we both felt very comfortable while he was working in our kitchen. You could also pay with credit card. He has a high technology device attached to his iPhone. So convenient :) Highly recommend for our neighborhood.

Jake was very professional. He arrived on-time during a raging thunderstorm and went to work immediately diagnosing the problem with our Maytag range that was only 1.5 years old. He did not have the specific parts on his truck, so he order the parts while he was standing in our kitchen. As promised, Jake returned 2 days later; 15 minutes early, to replace the parts. He was finished in under 20 minutes and even brought a small wet/dry vacuum to clean-up behind the over! The whole process was quick, easy and painless. I would definately recommend them to my neighbors!

Alan is honest. He is knowledgeable. I trust him. My 7 year old Maytag washing machine stopped working, I was underneath it, considering a DIY repair - but came to my senses and checked AL to find a professional repair man. This is only after checking out new machines at Lowe's and seeing the crazy prices new machines are going for; further cross referencing consumer reports for the and quot;best buyand quot; and reading user reviews about how many people are not satisfied with the washing abilities of these new $1,000+ machines without the center agitator.I was lost...and Alan pointed me in the right direction. With NO mention of the make or model number, i described the underside of my washer, and the melted/burned up and quot;pulley thing, at the front right cornerand quot;, and Alan said and quot;sounds like a Maytagand quot; - he knows his stuff! He said it's approximately a $200 repair AND that he could do the work this week. Then, I asked him what he would do in my shoes...I told him the frustration I had with shopping the new machines, and he completely understood. He went on to tell me what he uses in his house, the most reliable, and easiest to fix machines on the market are the cheapest ones (Roper, Admiral, Amana) all made by Whirlpool apparently. He said my machine was at its half-life and since the repair was just over half the cost of the new machine ($379) - he would go with the new machine! He just passed on the work out of honesty - class act!
Description of Work: a free 5 minute phone call, he pointed me in the right direction.

Alan was able to stop that horrid loud noise coming from the refrigerator and ordered the parts while he was standing in my kitchen. He told me that it would be necessary to empty the refrigerator and leave the doors open so that it could completely dry out. He also told me that it'd be in our best interest to put a couple of towels down to soak up the water from the icemaker that would be thawing out - that happened because of the problem with the refrigerator. They showed up on time and made the repair in a more than timely manner. I had an extra filter for the ice/water maker on hand and they even changed that for me AND cleaned the stainless steel before they left! I couldn't be more pleased with their work and work ethic. If only everyone worked like this....Thank you Alan! In my book, you're a total Super Hero!!
Description of Work: When my built in JennAir refrigerator started making a strange loud noise I called the repair people that did some warranty work on my JennAir appliances. Since I'm not sure if I can say their name, I won't. Believe it or not, all this time later and they STILL haven't called me back! That's OK because I made the best phone call that one could possibly make when it comes to getting their appliances taken care of - Appliance Rescue Service! I called Alan and told him that I wasn't sure what was going on but there was obviously a problem. Look, I have a (then) 14 month old son even trying to put him down for a nap in his nursery upstairs was a problem because the noise was that loud. I called Alan and explained to the best of my ability the situation - even though he had a pretty full schedule, he understood the urgency because of my son - it was literally minutes later when my doorbell rang and Alan was there! After looking at the refrigerator, he knew that I'd have to have the drip pan replaced. He told me that he'd have to order the parts and that he could get them in on the following Monday and be there the day after that to repair it. I was pretty devastated thinking that we'd have to listen to that horrible loud noise for the next several days, but guess what? Alan and his co-worker did their magic and were able to stop that extremely loud noise within just a few minutes! I'm not kidding - I will NEVER call anyone else to repair any appliance at our home. The only thing they were missing were Super Hero capes in my book! And he wouldn't even take a down payment from me - he said that I could pay him when the work was done. I have to say that I don't see many people with that kind of work ethic. Do yourself a favor and don't bother calling around - if you want it done quickly and done correctly with a more than pleasant attitude - just call Alan! (I'm giving an approximate on date because my now nearly 17 month old has me exhausted and it's a miracle I can remember my name, but it was within the last couple of months)

Showed up a half hour ahead of schedule. This worked out ok this time but next time might want to consider giving a call first when running ahead of schedule just in case we aren't home and are getting there just in time for the appt. They diagnosed the problem quickly and correctly. Showed my Mom (we weren't home and she handled this for us.) the worn ice machine and explained why it wasn't working. He was very pleasant and professional. Replaced the unit and left. The charge was reasonable, in my opinion ($140 for the part and 80 for the labor). Overall GREAT experience. Thanks Alan!

He came to look at my dryer, my dry had stoped working. He found that there was a part that was bad. That he had to order, because it was not something that was kept in stock. Because of the brand I have Samsung ther local suppliers didn't have it he had to order it. And when he ordered it they sent him the worng part, they sent him a part for another brand. Because of that he got it in even later. So he came in on the weekend and did it, because he felt bad that it took longer then he said it would. He was really good. My contrator used him to, he saw the sticker and said "Hey I know alen".

First off, I found these guys on Angie's List and chose them for two reasons: (a) reviews and (b) proximity of their business address to my home. I checked their website and found their hours started at 7 am. I called at 7:20 am and described the problems with the fridge. I got a confirmation on an estimated arrival time. They were about 30 minutes early. Things I particularily liked: - Low trip charge that is wavied with repair. - I priced the parts online after the visit. I could not have done better. In fact, slightly less and no shipping costs. And, I did not and quot;ownand quot; them until repairs completed and verified. - They kept me informed! They took time to explain what was wrong (what was really going on), informed me of costs and obtained approval before completing work, and let me know what to expect as the unit came up to speed post repairs. - Professional, and quot;customerand quot; attitude, respectful and well groomed - Double checked their work. - Father and son team While I hope I won't run into a need for this type of service, these guys would be my choice again!
Description of Work: My GE Fridge stopped working properly over the New Year's holiday. Appliance Rescue Service diagnosed the problems, replaced some bad parts, retested unit and confirmed unit was working properly. Problem was caused by a bad evaporator fan motor which caused the main circuit board to fry.

Wow! Alan made my day! :) I noticed last night my dryer wasn't working right. I called Alan this morning and he happened to be in in the neighborhood. He estimated he'd be at my house in about an hour and he was :) Within 15 mins my dryer was fixed. I wish I had found him sooner, but now that I know his phone number, he'll be getting my business from now on. :) He was punctual, polite, friendly and quick. He knew exactly what the problem was and the price was very fair. Thank you Alan! :)

Alan arrived a couple minutes BEFORE our scheduled appointment. He was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. My gut instinct was that this is someone who valued his integrity. We discussed the dishwasher, the age of the dishwasher, and the money I had already put into the machine. He shared options of investing another $300 into the KitchenAid or purchasing a new dishwasher (which would be of no benefit to him). He even gave his recommendation of which he would purchase. I was extremely pleased with the service Alan provided and have already shared his name with friends and relatives.
Description of Work: Our KitchenAid dishwasher would not turn off except by manually hitting the Cancel button. Alan took the machine apart to determine the problem. Once that was determined, he stated the cause, what would be involved with the repair and the repair cost. He also brought up the option of purchasing a new dishwasher.

I have used Alan many times to repair various appliances both at my home and in several rent houses. He has always been prompt, professional, and skillful in his work. When I arranged this repair, I found that Alan was booked out for the next two days. However, he called the tenant within an hour and was able to diagnose the problem and guide her in fixing it over the phone. Alan let me know what had transpired and didn't charge a cent. I know that many appliance service companies would have come out, done a quick fix, and charged both a service call and a repair fee. It is a credit to Alan's expertise that he could pull this off, and his integrity that he values his customers so. He'll have my business for every appliance repair, and I highly recommend him to anyone in the areas he serves.
