Description of Work: Purchased a home that Billy Luke had paved around 5 years earlier. It was damaged by some heavy truck traffic (cement) and tree roots. Billy offered a few options to resolve the damage and I went with having the roots cut out and him patching that area. He then added an additional 2 inches over the entire ~25 x 200 foot length.

+ -1 moreThey do residential work on weekends so it took a little while to set up between my schedule and theirs. Once scheduled, the work was done quickly and very professionally. The driveway looks shiny and protected. I do wish I had known that a very decomposed section of the driveway needed much more that just sealant, and I would have spent the money on redoing the entire driveway instead of the Angie's List big deal for sealant only!

+ -1 moreMr. Luke added asphalt strips at the end of my two driveways to tie them to the street. The ones that were originally poured by (someone else) were of inferior quality and eroded after one year. The ones Mr. Luke poured have held up almost 2 years so far with no sign of wear. The special was for one driveway but he cut me a deal and did both for a great price and he had some left over which he poured around my mailbox area so I wouldn't have to walk in the grass/mud to get my mail.

+ -1 moreThis driveway is on a 4 acre site and is about 250 feet in length, with an expanded turn-around at the garage end. Large team arrived as scheduled. Old driveway was prepared for thick resurfacing. This included removal of all grass growing through the driveway and encroaching on its edges. Also included was removal of thich portions of old asphalt along margins with existing cement structures (i.e., garage curtain and several cement walks). This was done to insure that new asphalt was thicker at those junctures and would not breakdown due to excessive thinness. The new drive was laid as promised, with final thickness being 2-3 inches. Final sealer was added at the end of the day (as an elective addition -- this had not been priced in the original proposal). The supervisor was Luke himself. At conclusion of services, he offered left over asphalt to my neighbor -- I contacted her & she accepted (and went on later to have them redo her entire drive). I would use this company again.

+ -1 moreLukes mobilized within a few days after approval of their bid and came in and did the first grading. The following week they came back and did the fine grading and compaction. They almost completed the entire hot mix install that day, but had to come the following day to finish because of issues at the batch plant ( not Luke's problem) . The work was very high quality which convinced me to have them come back in early December to do the optional seal coat. It is a beautiful job.
Description of Work: Billy and Dallas Luke and their crew put in about 10000 sf of driveway and parking area at our new residence. Their work included grading and compacting the existing base material, a 2"+ thick hot rolled asphalt overlay and then about 30 days later they came back and installed a complete seal coat on everything.

+ -1 moreI didn't research the chip seal method beforehand--which i definately recommend anyone interested in this method should do. We are happy with the result however. The base feels more substantial. I was surprised by the light color of the finished product though. The stone of the top layer, which is meant to become inbedded into the asphalt layer below it. is very white. The color effect of the white stone is similar to the look of a bare concrete driveway.
Description of Work: Luke's Asphalt re-paved our driveway using a "chip seal" application -- which I understand is similar to what is used for paving roads. Originally we wanted the cracks in the asphalt to be cleaned and filled and then the entire driveway resealed -- for which he quoted a price of $800. His written estimate also included mention of the chip seal method which costs double the price but is expected to last quite a bit longer. Since we've resealed the driveway 2 or 3 times before in the years we have lived at this address, obtion B sounded very appealing to us so we opted for the chip seal. I spoke to Mr. Luke several times by phone and twice in person. He was always curteous, accomodating and professional. There was a little bit of lag time between the time we phoned to confirm the job and his getting back to us with a date and time. It didn't help, im sure, that I called and left a message on a Sunday. He explained however that he was fielding a high volume of calls and apologized for the delay. The work itself was done quickly and efficiently using heavy duty equipment.

+ -1 moreI couldn't be any happier. My driveway looks as if it was just put down. I had needed to have my driveway resealed and some crack filled. Using an Angie's List Coupon, I spoke to the people at Luke's for an estimate. They made an appointment and came over to inspect the condition of my driveway first hand and then give me an estimate. Since my driveway was longer than what the coupon would cover, their estimate including the coupon to fill the cracks and then reseal the driveway was wasmore than reasonable. Luke's then scheduled me for the resealing and their crew called ahead of time to let me know they were on the way on to move any car away from the driveway. Their work was impeccable, no spills or missed areas, a very, very well done job.

+ -1 moreMr Dallas Luke came and looked at the parking area that needed some preserving and said he could seal coat the asphalt . The asphalt was still intact and he said that seal coating would be appropriate .The weather was exceptionally rainy during the first few months of this year and there were delays. He graciously gave theasphalt extra coating because of the delays. He even sealed a small median that was not included in the initial proposal.The job is excellent and I appreciate every effort he made to get the work done. The coating enhanced the appearance and will keep the parking pad from deteriorating.He was always responsive to my phone calls and came on time to give the estimate.

+ -1 moreOn the agreed date, two employees arrived as anticipated. They first cleaned the drive and filled the large cracks with a dry patch material. The mid-size cracks were filled with a thick tar-like material. They paid careful attention around the borders near the house and other concrete surfaces not to spray. They used squeegees in these areas to paint a nice clean edge. They sprayed the interior with a good amount of product. This was probably equivalent to twice the thickness in coverage of what I got from a different company five years ago. Once they finished, they put tape across the drive until it dried. It's been a month since this service was completed and I have no complaints. I would definitely use Luke Asphalt again.
Description of Work: I have approximately 7000 sq ft of asphalt drive that needed to be resealed. I called two companies for estimates. Luke Asphalt quoted the same service, but was $200 less than the other company and had good reviews on AL. I went with Luke's Asphalt.

Description of Work: I contacted Luke Dallas about seal coating my driveway and he said he would do the job as soon as weather permits. I have talked with him several times and he always answers the phone himself. There was a sunny day and he called and scheduled the job. Two of his employees arrived on time and explained the product to be used and how long it woul take to finish and dry. They explained the product as the highest quality and not over diluted as a lot of asphalt companies do.They were very careful not to overlap on any other surfaces. The driveway dried overnight and it looks fantastic. I am very happy with the results and would recommend Luke Dallas's company to anyone needing asphalt work.

+ -1 moreAs with the other customer, did not have to pay until the job was completed. When I did pay, I told Dallas that there were still brown spots. He stated he would drive by when he was in the area because he was working out of town.
Description of Work: Had my drive-way resealed with cracks filled and minor asphalt repair (at no extra cost). My only complaint was that the job had to be done twice due to the finish coming out brown. Originally, I wasn't satisfied with the intial job, but Dallas came by to inspect the job and had it redone due to the spray leaving brown spots all over. The second attempted came out the way I expected the intial job to come out as with the cracks looking like they were filled and sealed, but my drive-way still has brown spots all over...don't know what the problem is with the product they were using.

+ -1 moreThe work was very well done and the the service was quite professional. Dallas Luke arrived on time and gave me a verbal estimate on the spot. We agreed on the price and the deal was sealed with a handshake. (Mr. Luke did offer a written estimate if I so desired.) We were out of town when the work was performed and we returned home to find a nicely done job. The work was accomplished with no prepayment so I actually had to call Mr. Luke to find out how to pay for the job! I mentioned to Mr. Luke after the work was completed that I had failed to ask for the job to include leveling a low spot in the driveway. He informed me that next time he was in the area with some "extra" asphalt he would stop by and, if feasible, take care of the problem. (That's real customer service!) We found it refreshing that we could actually have a major job accomplished based on a verbal agreement and a handshake. Hats off to Luke's Asphalt. We recommend this company without reservations.
Description of Work: Luke's Asphalt repaired all cracks in our driveway and resurfaced the entire driveway as well. (Our driveway is 12' wide by 600' long with two parking pullouts.)

Description of Work: We had 3 bids to do our driveway and we chose Luke's Asphalt. Very professional, new equipment and very clean. All of his employees were professional and took their time to do the job correctly. Billy said it should take possibly 2 days to complete, but they started early and finished by late afternoon, in one day, The price was exactly what they bid and they did exactly what they said they would do. I would recommend them to anyone that asks "who did our driveway".

+ -1 moreThe company spent three days preparing and adding base before paving. It is very important to have a good base in order for the paving to last a long time. They delayed paving two days due to rainy weather and I appreciate this because the paving quality would have been deminished otherwise. We now have a beautiful and fully functional driveway that enhances the looks of our property better than we had imagined. The company has generational experience with paving and longivity in the community. Luke's is not one of those seasonal migrant companies. Their equipment is modern and well maintained. I need additional areas paved and I will be using Luke's for future projects. In summary, I feel good about having done business with Luke's.
Description of Work: We had our gravel/roadbase driveway paved with asphalt. We also had some additional area paved where there was no driveway before. Total area was about 8200 square feet. The majority was 12 feet wide. The paving consisted of a quailty "hot mix" asphalt, not the cheap oil/tar/gravel type.
