Description of Work: They charged way too much and then did not fix the problem. They had to come out a second time. The second guy at least was able to explain things better and fix the problem. First guy was in such a hurry it was ridiculous. It was a horrible experience and I will never use them again. That are all about the money not honesty and quality.

Description of Work: They unclogged the drain pipe, but left toilet paper that they cleaned out in my flower beds. He said that that wasn't in his "job description." The men from Dry Force even said that they didn't think it was professional either.

Description of Work: Replaced a hot water heater (inside house closet); and installed drainage (pvc and copper pipe lines) from the tank to the outside wall. Added an automatic shut off valve (and sensor) on the water supply line to the tank. The install was good and I believe the set-up significantly reduces or protects exposure to home damage should the tank ever leak.

Description of Work: Had a failure with my water heater and had guests coming for a visit so I was desperate. Of 3 companies listed on Angie's List Berkeys was able to come out the soonest. Technician was pleasant and appeared very knowledgeable and competent. He replaced my 12-year old, 50 gallon gas water heater within a reasonable time, then presented me with an invoice for $1793.00 (50 gal, 6 year water heater - $1666.00, and plumbing permit - $127.00). I thought this price was high but it had been 25 years since I purchased a water heater (for a different house) so I assumed this was the going rate. Also, I had a somewhat urgent need so I paid without questioning. Since then, friends and neighbors I have spoken to said they were able to have similar water heaters replaced for a lower cost. So I may use Berkeys for future needs but I will definitely get a quote before committing to anything.

Description of Work: I am on the BAM plan and it is very worthwhile. During my furnace tune-up they tried to sell me additional items, didn't understand why these things were not addressed prior to the initial install of the new HVAC system approx. 1 year ago. You will pay for the fancy trucks and uniforms, but the BAM plan is very cost effective for keeping your units tuned-up.

Description of Work: Two inspections per year for plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical for $99 is a good deal. Decided on major tank overhaul for 4 toilets. Need to call them for a re-visit as two toilets are not working as they should. Problem with the BAM inspection is that you have to make 3 different appointments,one each for Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical. In my case, made appointment for Electrical (4 hour window); then they did not show. Got a call said they were running "late". Despite issues, I will continue with Berkey's hoping they can work some of the kinks out.

Description of Work: Replaced leaking water heater. I have used Berkey's for four years; they installed a new heat pump in 2010, continue to provide semi-annual P/M service, and just replaced the water heater. They are professional, timely, and responsive. Their prices are on the higher end of the spectrum, but they are dependable.

Description of Work: I kick them out of my house. Wanted to open wall to check water line to new refg. Never check to see the nut was loose on the turn on. After talking to the manager and reduced the price to 179.00 still to high. never even pulled the refg. out to look at the connection. I called another plumber and only paid service call. He tighten the nut. |

Description of Work: They told us we needed to replace the A/C unit, and quoted nearly $8,000. We had a second opinion, and the other company was able to flush the system and it has been working great ever since! We will need to replace it, but we will go with this other company that quoted us a much better rate than Berkeys and was very honest about how we could temporarily fix the problem to make it through the season.

However, I am sometimes concerned with their focus on marketing while performing service functions. Though I don't enjoy the tradition of stating a multiple hour window for the appointment, it's the way it is!

Description of Work: Installed new heating and AC system for our downstairs. Very professional and we were extremely happy. We've had this for just over a year now and have had zero issues.

Description of Work: 6 month check up. I have used their services for years. You pay $99 for a checkup on heating and air and plumbing. They do the check up, then give you information of any other work they recommend, but do not put pressure on you to have it done immediately. Have been pleased with their work and professionalism.

Description of Work: Cleared a clogged drain in upstairs bathroom. A variety of methods were used to clear it. It was the drain the AC goes to and that is what caused the clog; he also gave us info on how to avoid future problems. Very professional, very knowledgeable. He also checked the hot water heaters and pointed out possible problem areas. Great tech, great company.
