Once they began, they started an intense upselling effort I refused and they stopped work. In meantime I had a building inspector for the city come out within an hour. They agreed that the work the Berkey's rep was demanding to do was absolutely unnecessary. Berkey's left in a huff and I had someone else come and complete the work with city inspection for 25 % of what they were trying to charge. Until that time I had been a Berkely's customer and had multiple annual maintenance.actions performed, including some incredibly good plumbing repairs. Then the ownership of Berkey's changed and the new owners have been getting a reputation as frequently upselling and charging hgher than normal prices for work that is no longer superior. I do not intend to use Berkey's ever again.

Very professional - expensive hole, but they did what they could to work with me on the situations.

Came out the same day. AC rep was on time, knowledgeable and worked quickly. Would hire again in a heart beat.

The same plumber came out the next day and fixed it. He really could not see the reason why the seal was broken, but he fixed it anyway -- free of charge. That was great!

Air Conditioning Unit stopped working at a rental property on Friday night. Called immediately to get someone from Berkeys to come investigate-however the after hours rates are extremely high. Opted to wait until business hours the next day and was given the 11a-3p appointment slot (with A/C still out). Company called at 2:45 to inform that technicians were running behind and that someone would be out soon. Finally, around 5:30 tech arrived. He spent time investigating issue and called around 6:30 to inform. His scope of repair work was tremendous and frightening, the quoted cost for the work was equally outrageous. It was at this point that the technician began encouraging a full system replacement (to the tune of $11,000 on top of some additional duct work). Given the extreme expense this could have been, decided to get some competitive quotes. One company came out and gave a quote for essentially the same replacement system (actually an upgrade from 4-ton to 5-ton system) for less than half of the price. Another company (one who cares for their customers), cautioned against replacing the whole system and came out to check the unit for repair (second opinion). Turns out that the work could be completed with a simple fix and at a fair price. This other company came out on short notice and took care of the problem in a short time frame at a fair price (less than 25% of Berkeys quoted repair cost). I report this to give real evidence that good A/C repair companies are out there so DO NOT allow a company like this to make you feel backed in to a corner. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone who is not an A/C expert and as such unable to detect when the experts are trying to take advantage. Despite having a "membership" with Berkeys at my primary residence (separate from this rental property incident), I will not be using their service any more.

It was a little expensive. I was satisfied with them, but I felt that the price was too high. He didn’t do it correctly the first time.

We've used them and we've been very pleased with the services they offer. We signed up for their yearly service so we had paid for in advance for one year. They would come and check out the air conditioner automatically. They would call and say it's time to do it. They have a great program that you can sign up and buy it for the whole year. They come twice during that year. They check also if you had plumbing. It's a great service. If we had any problems during that year, they would come out. You don't get charged for the trip. They just charge for whatever repairs they had to do. They were prompt. They would call you and make an appointment and they were very prompt about their appointments and that's a plus. They come when they say their going to come. They were very professional. They make sure that they put little booties on their feet if they were tracking through your house if they have been outdoors.

They were nice, but as I stated above ridiculously expensive

The technician arrived at the appropriate time and did turn off the unit that was blowing hot air. However, was quoted a pretty high price for freon and to install a new switch ( quoted $700) then checked the unit again and said I needed a new unit and was unable to help because he could not order a new switch because the unit did not have a model number. Please just bill me for the service call and remove me from the $ 99. 00 membership with your company for annual service. BTW called another company who came out the next day, repaired the unit and added freon for 293.00.

I just purchased the plumbing service plan and then had my water tank descaled. Best decision I ever made is to go with Berkeys and their technician Phil provided service second to none. This company is first-in-class for their business! Use no other company if you want extremely professional service that goes above expectations.

Responsive, professional, reasonably priced

great! they had recommended some items that would benefit my system for the last few visits -- I've been taking care of them bit-by-bit

I was happy with their work overall they did a really good job and used quality materials and finished the work fast but they were expensive. They did clean up after themselves

Fine but technician unable to get faucet to turn freely

Work went well. Worker Darren was on-time and he and his partner, brother Chris, worked from 0800-1800 in a very hot garage. The new panel was installed and the additional lines added. They made sure that all lights and outlets were working as well as identifying what each breaker switch covered.

They completed the work with no problems.

Exactly as expected. Professionally completed.

After an ongoing process since January, they were still unable to repair the bathtub faucet leak and still charged me $100. They replaced the kitchen faucet from one of the two choices they had in their book. He did not show it to me before installing it. It was not nearly the quality of my original, so I asked if he could replace it with one I would purchase. The manager said they would only do this if I paid for the new one and could not get a refund on the installed faucet. Also I would be charged for another installation fee.

The entire process was simple. From making the appointment, to being notified of arrival time and the maintenance work. Everything was done on a friendly and very professional level. And in the end I was given a report of the condition of my system.

Berkeys came the same day and fixed my unit quickly. It has been working well since. I feel like it was a little pricey but all the other service companies I called had a two or more day waiting period. It was nice to have them come the same day.

The technician showed up within the 4 hour window provided to assess the problem. He was unable to clear the blockage because he was running into clay-like blockage in the line outside of our property line. He marked where the blockage was and quoted us over $4000 to come out the next morning to fix the problem. That price seemed high so we declined to do the additional work and paid for the "after hours" service call. The second plumber that reviewed the problem with the city marked the blockage about 6' East of the Berkey's marker. The second plumber also quoted $1700 for the repair. I don't know how Berkey's was going to do the repair the next morning without calling for utility locates, and I don't know what would have happened if they had completed the repairs only to find out it was the wrong place.

We are weighing our options but we feel that Berkeys would address all our needs to get the most out of our investment .

I would give an A to the plumbing side and a solid C to the A/C side due to the conflicts of service on each of these sides - but still don't know how to rate the A/C side because nothing has been done to date. Communication on the part of the A/C personnel was lacking and bordered on confrontational at one point. They were a "no show" on two occasions having said they called and left a message the first appointment (no message was ever received) and the 2nd booked appointment for 8 AM on a Monday which I waited over 1.5 hours for someone to call NEVER showed or called. I only got an explanation after I called the main number and they said that the person who was supposed to come out called in sick. I get sick days. I don't understand the lack of communication. That's why there's a B rating.
