 + -1 moreSolicited estimates from angies list. ( 5 estimates requested) Two companies showed up to give an estimate. Three never called back. Both companies were in the same dollar range for the project. Whitaker had better scores in the reports section. Work was completed on time within the estimate dollars given. Mr. Whitaker knows how to do it.
Description of Work: Renovation of patio cover, second story window, veneer siding, and structural members. Painting of all new material to match existing construction. Repair of roof flashing around the roof at the second story level.

 + -1 moreBrian did an excellent job. He came to the house and gave an email estimate. He came to work when he said he would and did some of the work at his own shop. He was efficient, polite, and very capable. We are going to use him in a few weeks for another job. I highly recommend him. Also a very nice guy!
Description of Work: Brian sanded, stained and varnished our double front doors. He added trim under all cabinets in kitchen and sanded, restained and varnished some cabinet doors to match the rest of the kitchen cabinets. He also did some minor repairs.under the breakfast bar.

 + -1 moreBrian and Samuel (his sub-contractor) gave me a detailed estimate of how much things would cost, how much chaos to expect, and how long the project would take to complete. They were great to work with, punctual and friendly with our kids and pets. Brian and Samuel both had really good ideas of how to carry things out, and different colors and patterns that would work in our house.
Description of Work: Installed wainscoting in breakfast room, painted downstairs and installed tile in laundry room.

 + 0 moreWe couldn't be more pleased with this work. Brian was patient in working with us to capture on paper what we had in mind. These units were being built around an already installed entertainment system, increasing the difficulty of this project. The end result was everything we hoped for and then some. We highly recommend this contractor. He is very patient, experienced, conducts himself as a professional, and on top of that, leaves the work area clean!
Description of Work: Custom cabinet/entertainment units built for two niches either side of a fireplace.

 + 0 moreWe had gotten several bids that were double and triple what Brian offered. He showed up on time every time and stuck to his schedule and his bid. He even came at 8:30 PM to review the kitchen for bid after working all day on another project and sent a bid just before midnight. The work was very skilled and he offered practical suggestions such as adding drawers where we hadn't considered it.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen and bathroom cabinets refaced in a 30-year old house. Brian got new doors and drawer fronts and stained them to match our existing woodwork, plus he painted the kitchen.

 + 2 moreJob 1: Brian was always very prompt. He is trustworthy. I wouldn't hesitate to leave while he is working on my home. Job 2: Brian was professional as usual. He seems to care about the quality of his work & is also concerned about the reaction of the client. My built-in desk in the study was done by another company. I very much wish I had known Brian then. The quality of the work & concern of the owners was not what I expected or received. In this case you don't get what you pay for. The other company was very expensive & Brian is very reasonable. He is very talented in creating custom built-ins & you want to keep remodeling because the possibilities are endless.
Description of Work: Job 1: I called Brian to remodel our bath. I had a picture from a magazine that I wanted to duplicate, the room looks exactly like it. Brian's end result was outstanding! He built some shelves in our home office. He replaced the moulding on the built-in desk to match the moulding on the shelves. He is very talented w/cabinet work, built-ins & can manage to think through the project to excellent results. He built a floor in our attic & even added a light. His work is outstanding & reasonable.($15000.) Job 2: Brian was called back to repair/update my kitchen after a leak. He replaced a few of the cabinets, installed backsplash & helped coordinate the wood floors & countertops. The kitchen, utility room walls, baseboards were repaired & installed lights under the cabinets. He recommended dimmers on these lights which accent the backspash. I love my kitchen! We expect to sell our home & I feel the improvements will increase the price we can expect to obtain. Not so sure I want to move now.
