Bay Area Tree Experts

Took a couple of weeks for them to come, but called prior to showing up on day of job. A crew of about 6-7 men and two trucks showed up and got right to work. They worked fast and trimmed the tree just as I had requested removing several large branches and lifting the tree branches off my house and thinned it out to let the sun get through. My house looks totally different with the tree trimmed. It had gotten huge and although it was a pretty tree, it had about taken over my small yard and house. The crew all had on uniform shirts and were very polite. They cut down the shrubs at the side of the house that had grown too large for the small space. All work was done very well. I would definitely recommend this company. The price was more than I had planned, but was well worth the additional money. I had lower quotes, but I doubt they would have done as good a job. The price was exactly what was quoted when the work was done.

Came out very promptly, provided estimate. Called 2 days before to let me know when they were coming. I did not have to be home, so when I did come home, except for the changes in the trees, I could not even tell they were there. Not a trace of debris anywhere.

Very good job at a fair price. The yard was cleared of all debris. I'll definitely call them again.

I called for an estimate to trim three trees in my yard. I marked the trees with red ribbons so he would know which ones I needed trimmed so I didn't have to be here when he came. An estimate was left at my front door and I was happy with the estimate. I called Bay Area Trees to schedule a time for them to come out and was told it would be three weeks before they could come. I certainly understand why it would take that long for them to come and it wasn't a pressing project so I waited. The crew of six to eight workers arrived at my home promptly at 8:00 am and preceeded to trim the trees. They were climbing way up in the trees in no time and chain saws were buzzing like mad. Some of the crew were on the ground cleaning up fallen tree limbs and hauling them to the shredder they had in the street. They worked diligiently until the job was completed. They were done in a little over one hour. All tree limbs were removed that were encroaching on my roof, dead limbs in the trees and the canopies were raised to acceptable levels. All of the debris was picked up out of the yard and flower beds, even the yard was raked from fallen debris. They did a great job, were prompt, professional and the trees look great. I was so happy to get them all trimmed. When the work was completed, they didn't even ask for payment. An invoice was mailed to me a few days later and I promptly paid it. I certainly would recommend Bay Area Tree Experts to anyone. Save your time trying to get estimates with other companies and use the best.

We have been landscape maintenance clients of Bay Area Design and Landscaping for almost a year. We have been very happy with the level of service they provided. However, unexpectedly we received a notice in the mail informing us they were cancelling our contract as they had decided to downsize their maintenance division effective at the end of the month and one month prior to the end of our annual contract. We were very unhappy, and when I spoke with them, they agreed to continue our service for the final month of our contract. They also informed me that they were not completely doing away with their maintenance division, but just drastically reducing it, and they made the decision on which customers to cancel based on the contracts that were quickly coming up for renewal. We are very unhappy with the arbitrary way they made the decision and how it was handled. We will not be doing business with any part of Bay Area Design and Landscape or Bay Area Nursery in the future.

They were timely in all the work they do for us and do a very good job. It's a well managed company and has all the right resources to get the job done.

I used them in 2010. We used them a lot before that too. They cut down trees for us. They were excellent. They were quick. They took everything away with them. They took up all the branches and stump away. They were fast and good.

I called for an estimate. Bobby was very prompt in returning my call and coming out to give me an estimate. He gave me all the usual promises of reliability, their expertise in how they maintain a yard, and communication with the crews. We decided to hire the company to perform our weekly lawn maintenance, which included weeding all beds, edging, mowing, trimming bushes and small ligustrum trees when necessary. The first few weeks they performed as promised. Then they quit weeding the beds. They also used a weed eater instead of an edger on the lawn edging and made moats out of all the sidewalk/driveway areas. It just kept getting further, and further away from the concrete and looks horrible. The grass around the moss rock edging at beds is completely gone because it has been weed-eated to death. We are replacing the grass this year in those areas. Bushes that had done well and a yard that was well-manicured soon turned into dead areas. They did not trim as promised. I was usually home during the service so I could see that it wasn't getting done, besides the obvious. They would leave without even walking through the beds to check for weeds. I would walk out and ask them to weed the beds. The entire crew would sit in the truch while waiting on one person to all the areas. They could have used the time to at least walk through the beds and get the weeds. Every time I would call Bobby, he would say they would correct; but it never changed. My husband kept asking Bobby and the crew to raise the mower because it was cutting the grass too low. It maybe got raised that week and then would go back to the low setting the next time. Then we would have to call again. By the time September came, our yard had not had trimming or weeding in weeks except what we had done ourselves and the grass had died in several areas. There were a couple of times we asked for them to skip the week cause the grass was way too low to mow, but Bobby never would communicate with the crew to let them know. So, they would show up and mow it lower again unless I happened to be home to tell them they weren't supposed to come that week. I finally got tired of dealing with it and doing the work myself and discontinued their disservice. I kept copies of the notes and communication I had between myself and Bobby in case he had a question. He was always nice and courteous on the phone and responded well. However, the work performed was not what I expected from a good landscaping company.

They did a very nice job, and cleaned up all of the trimmings. Overall, I am very pleased with the service, and would hire them again.

Called and asked for a quote to trim 2 trees near the street to community association standards. They left a quote on my door a couple of days later. I agreed to the price and was told that they would call when they could schedule the trimming. They called a week or so later. Came when they said they would. Did an AWESOME job. I would highly recommend these guys.

I use them every week; they come every Wednesday. They do an excellent job and I will use them again in the future.

They did great. Their price was reasonable. I had called in quotes from others and they were in line with everybody else. I would recommend them.

In a few hours they had cut back major branches hanging over the street, the house, and the driveway. I arrived from work after they had arrived and started tgrimming back the tree. The supervisor detailed what they had done and were going to do. In a couple of hours, they were done and on to their next job. They did a good job.

It was $7-8,000 for the front yard. They do yard maintenance and it is about $450 a month. We have a lot of yard. It is about an acre of grass plus a lot of linear feet of beds. Their numbers are based on linear feet of beds. It takes a lot of weekly weeding. I've known Larry Mardell for 15 years. They do a real good job. We've had people do the work for less but we don't get the same quality. There are people that will do it for less, but we won't get as good of a job. They come every Thursday and they show up when they say they will. I will continue to use them.

I decided to go with them because I think they had good reports on Angie’s List. They did a good job for a reasonable price.

Service rep arrived on time for the consult appt to prune and raise the canopy of a large Ash. We were worried about our roof with hurricane season starting soon. They had the best price and brought their own chipper. The crew was timely, quick and very thorough with clean up. Will definitely use again and refer to friends and family. Very Satisfied!

I have used Bay Area Trees before so I called them again for an estimate to remove a very large diseased willow oak tree standing near my front door. They were a little higher than other estimates, but they were able to remove the large tree in only one day and haul off all the debris. I also chose them because when I told them I have an in ground sprinkler system they said that they would bring supplies in case they damaged it during tree removal and stump grinding. Other companies told me they were not responsible if they damaged the sprinkler. The foreman even removed and replaced several of my azalea bushes to make a place to drop the tree trunk. They had a crew of 6 and worked quickly to dismantle the tree. They did drop a few large pieces in the yard with a thud and I had to fill in a few dents in the front yard. They ground the stump down and left some of the tree dust to help fill the hole. They have the skills and tools to handle a large job and responded to all my questions and concerns.

Arrived on time with four-man crew, spoke with foreman as the original estimate had been done while I was not at home and I did not want as extensive a pruning job as they proposed. Foreman and I walked job and then crew did work. They raked and blew all the debris and cut the few larger limbs for me to use in my fireplace. Only evidence they were ever here is the trimmed trees and a little saw dust. Foreman was knowledgeable and worked with me to get the look I wanted.

The live oak trees were last pruned two and a half years ago. I called Bay Area Tree Experts and arranged for an estimate. They left a written estimate (in the form of a contract) that was more than $100 less than another estimate, so we choose them. I faxed the signed contract and requested the work be scheduled in coordination with us so that we would be sure to be home. I did not hear from BATE, so on the third business day after sending the contract I called them. They said we were already scheduled for first thing the next day. That worked out great, but I am not sure they intended to actually coordinate with us as requested. The work, however, was done very well and quickly. Clean up was immaculate. So it was great work and a great price; the only downside was customer service.

Crew showed up at scheduled time. Tree trimmed, debris hauled away and lawn raked of miscellaneous twigs & leaves. Called back to remove a couple of branches wife noticed were missed, came back next business day and completed job to wife's satisfaction. (no small feat)

Everything went well. They did a good job and the price was in line with the estimate. However, I found their receptionist to be a bit rude.

They were a little late arriving from a previous job, but not seriously so, and they were very appologetic about it. A large crew with all the equipment got to work and had the two trees down and out and the stumps ground in about 1 hour. They raked and blew the yard and left it looking looking like the trees had never been there. Great price, great service. Recommended!

I never saw them and all I got was a bill. They finished the work and the tree stump was gone. The price was exactly as they said it would be.
