Around Thanksgiving, we received a water bill that was nearly $300 higher than usual; discovering our typically modest fee was, indeed, a monster and not a clerical error was disheartening. Later that week a rep from one Very Prominent Plumbing Company arrived to evaluate our situation; discovering that he estimated the solution would cost nearly a fifth of my yearly salary was devastating. We turned to Angie's List and found Able Plumbing. Christopher arrived and very patiently explained the problem and our options. He was understanding of the financial strain we were facing, and using straightforward language, he helped us gain the perspective (and humor) we needed to confidently make a decision. There was no pressure to pursue anything beyond what was necessary, and we really appreciated that he was focused on providing information, not a sales pitch. Multiple leaks between the city meter and the house revealed how our original plumbing is losing the battle against time. No stopgap was possible; we needed nearly 90 feet of trench to lay a new supply line, including excavation under a sidewalk and the driveway. The new proposal listed a cost that was roughly a third of the one previously quoted. The team that handled the work was efficient and professional, and Able Plumbing truly came through with the promise to provide "quality, competent and affordable service." I sincerely recommend them to anyone who feels overwhelmed and stressed by repair needs--or to anyone leery of contractors. They'll change your mind. If I'd met these guys sooner, I really would've spent fewer restless nights staring at my ceiling, wondering how I'd manage to survive the inevitable problems every homeowner has to face.

The same guy comes every time. He removed the old tank and installed the new one in about 4 hours. We've used them a few times now. They also installed a new drain line for us. They have always been efficient. I will definitely call them again.

Called for service of partially blocked shower / commode drain. Phone was answered promptly with a pleasant greeting and service was scheduled for the next day between 1 and 3 pm since it was a partial blockage. The crew called at 2:45 to say they were about 5 minutes away. Gerald and Tony arrived, introduced themselves and asked what I was experiencing. After opening the clean out and observing the water flow during toilet flushes, they confirmed a partial blockage. They ran the drain machine both ways from the cleanout to make sure the problem was solved and left within an hour.

I called on Friday afternoon and they set me up for Monday morning. He called to give me warning, showed up when promised, and fixed more of my problems than what I had called about. I only mentioned the handle replacement (I had already purchased the parts), and the shower...The plumber was very nice to stay and fix the other problems that I forgot to mention on the phone. An excellent experience!

My husband and I had our house built after Hurricane Ike and we finally got back home in March of 2011, after a nightmare dealing with insurance companies, our builder scammed us out of about 45K, so needless to say we are very leary of contractors. We became members of Angie's list very recently because we are starting to have issues with our house, and since we can't call on our builder, we needed some way to feel comfortable hiring a contractor, and I am so glad we did. We had a leak under the Kitchen sink, so I called Able Plumbing (out of Seabrook, TX) at about 8:30 or 9 AM. The preson taking the call was very helpful and professional. She told me they could have someone over between 12 and 2. I was shocked they could get here so soon. I receive a call about 12:20, saying they were on their way. 2 gentlemen showed up, just before 1. They were both very friendly and professional. I told them about the leak, so they looked and found out I had 3 leaks, not just 1! They replaced 2 valves and reconnected the P-trap. While he was down there he noticed my soap dispenser was not connected correctly (the builder never finished it), he then asked me if I had the soap dispenser bottle, and I did, so he filled it with soap and even installed that for me. In the mean time, I remembered that my master bath toilet had been out of commision because it wouldn't stop running. I asked if they had time to look at that, and they did. We needed a fill valve, so they replaced it, and it working great now. We had not used that bathroom for almost a year! would highly reccommend Able Plumbing. We have a bathroom in our garage hat our builder didn't re-connect to the sewer lines like he was supposed to. We will be calling Able this spring, so that we will have a bathroom downstairs for people using the pool.

Triple AAA service I will never hesitate calling Able in the future

We had a pipe leaking inside the wall which showed up as a small indoor swimming area. It was the Friday before Christmas. I called them at 2 pm. They showed up at 3 pm. By 4 pm the leak was fixed. They don't do drywall repair or I would have had them do that too. Really, for a trade it doesn't get much better than this.

Responded within one hour of initial call while we were in the middle of remodel. Fixed it quickly made recommendations on upcoming projects.

This whole situation had dragged on for a week until the gentlemen from Able Plumbing came on the scene. As the water heater was under warranty, we intially had to use the people who service their warranty. When our new hot water heater was installed and the drainage problem was detected, the installer gave us the name of the owner of Able Plumbing and recommended contacting him to help with the situation. The clog was so bad and so inaccessible the installer thought it might be necessary to cut into the wall of our living room to address the situation. To keep from additional flooding, the installer disconnected the lines so the A/C condensation ran into a container under the sink and no one could use the sinks in the bathroom. . We researched and discovered that Able Plumbing had a good reputation on Angie's List so we called Saturday afternoon to schedule an appointment. A person answered right away and was even willing to come out that afternoon. We decided to try to stick it out for a few days. originally thinking of waiting until Wednesday so I would not have to miss work but during this humid weather it is shocking how much water is pulled out of the air so I contacted them on Monday morning to see if they could come out that afternoon. They stated they would be out between 3-4 pm and arrived a few minutes after 3. Gerald and Terry were polite and professional. They were confident that they could resolve the issue through the access in the attic and after carrying up several large pieces of equipment up my rickety attic ladder, proceeded to do just that in less than an hour. The sink was reconnected and all of the lines reattached and throughly tested. Apparently drain lines can become plugged with algae in Houston. I never heard of this problem and was advised to run a cup of bleach through that particular line once a month during the summer. After spending a week of misery with no hot water and flooding, having a hot water heater replaced that actually did not need to be replaced, and the time spent waiting for other technicians who misdiagnosed the problem, I am very grateful for the skill and expertise that was exhibited this afternoon by Gerald and Terry. My husband and I are very satisfied and absolutely delighted to have fully working plumbing again. Just wish I asked the guys for a business card. Thank you Able Plumbing

We called Able Plumbing because of this company's superior rating on Angie's List. They exceeded our expectations! A two-plumber team called about 30 minutes before they arrived to give us a heads-up that they were on their way (very considerate!). They arrived right at the scheduled time to repair some plumbing problems that we had (noted above). These 2 gentlemen were intelligent, professional, and very pleasant to talk with. The lead plumber, Christopher, explained his repair strategy and gave us a cost estimate before work began. Then, they worked diligently as a team to repair our problems. I was so impressed with their work ethic and honesty that I called the owner (Benjamin) of Able Plumbing to inform him of my satisfaction. Ben was sincerely appreciative of my call and it is obvious that he takes pride in his plumbing crews. Customer Service is a high priority for Ben and his company. Able Plumbing is now our only choice if we need plumbing repairs in the future. I will gladly refer them to my family, friends, and business associates without hesitation. Discovered a leak in the main water pipe into the house. Called another plumber and got no response. Called Able and they were there in a couple of hours, and did a first rate job for what I thought was a very reasonable price.

We had already removed the tile and exposed where the leaks were in advance and so this eliminated some cost. Juan arrived promptly at the time we had been told. He was able to quickly fix the leak from the water pipes for an estimate of $130 (1 hour plus parts). The drain pipe was difficult to get to and the angles made it hard to fix. Juan estimated 2 to 2 1/2 hours at $95 an hour plus parts, which was about right. He had to leave at one point to go to the hardware store for parts that he did not have on the truck, but he had told me in the beginning that this might be necessary. The total time for both jobs was about 3 1/2 hours for a total of $375. We used the $25 coupon from Angie's list. So far the leaks both appear to be fixed. I was very pleased with Juan and the service he provided and highly recommend the company.

Plumber used step by step process to discover cause and rectified situation.This was a warranty call, but I have used them for several plumbing issues and they are always prompt, professional and know their way around most any plumbing issue from detecting leaks to simple toilet fixes.

The three original jobs went without a hitch. In fact, during the toilet unplugging job, the serviceman went out of his way to avoid pulling the toilet out and managed to extract the brush without resorting to that task. He could easily have run the bill up but did not. The remodel did not go as well. Able had a new plumber they had hired who had worked only new construction and who used shearing cutters rather than sawing the 30 year old plastic water lines. We had one line that cracked in the shower and then another under the cabinet the lavatories were located on. Able replaced the piping for these systems at no additional costs. I have no idea what they did about the particular plumber involved but, as far as I am concerned, they made good on the problem and so did the prime contractor as he had to replace insulation and "green rock" underneath the house (the house is elevated).

Overall it went very well. The two men were very courteous, and respected the flowers close to the drain pipe. They cleared the clog and then cleaned up everything . I was grateful that they could get here the same day, I had called 3 other plumbers and none could come by any earlier than the monday next.

They worked are friendly and I have been very pleased with them. I recently moved out of the area and I would bring them wherever I could because I really like them!

This guy was really bad. They didn't really measure the hole, they just drilled it so they drilled it to close. There was a knob to turn off the water in that line and they drilled it so close that the knob couldn't fully turn. My husband was watching them do it and he pointed it out to them and they didn't really do anything. The guy was just like, "oh well." It worked but they didn't really try to measure anything beforehand and when it was pointed out to them they didn't try to fix it. They just told my husband that maybe he could go buy a different kind of knob and install it himself. I would give them a D on quality since they didn't offer to fix it. I would definitely not use them again.

Had a leaking facet in the bath tub. I had made several call to plumbers in the area. some could not give a simple quote over the phone. they stated they needed to come and see what needed to be done before they would give me a price. As a single person with your income being very important, i did not have the time to take off and wait for people to come by and give me a quote. I needed it fixed and now. Able was able to give me a quote over the phone and they said that it could go either way up or down just depended on what they found when they got there. Had Able come out and do the work. I live in a Condo so when the plumber arrived we had to shut down 3 buildings and the boiler in able to do the work. I purchased the appliances that I wanted installed. When choosing the facet I chose one that has a shut off valve so incase something like this happens again my tub has its on shut off and I will not have to have the buildings surronding it shut off as well. The Service man that came out was very knowledgable and courteous. I can't remember his name at the moment, but he was Awesome!. As a new home owner this was my first experience at selecting a plumber and having work done at my home. I will refer folks to Able Plumbing and I will used them again when the need arises.

Terrible! The first plumber walked off the job. We later found out he wasn't even licensed. It was a bigger, more complicated job than they could handle. Our clawfooted tubs had to be replumbed 3x (with new holes each time in our 100 year old hardwood floors!) The owner yells and is verbally abusive. The quality of work is poor and communication is worse!

Able Plumbing far exceeded our expectations. The wall leak repair could have been very invasive and caused a lot of wall and sink damage, but it was minimal. I'm certain no other company could have done better. We are thrilled with the results and we'll definitely call Able Plumbing the next time we have need of plumbing services.

Very professional. Arrived when they said they would and completed work ahead of schedule. We also needed a new hot water heater which we purchased and they installed for us at no additional cost. Would definitely give them a call if we have any further plumbing or gas problems.

Discovered leak in kitchen. Determined it was coming from faucet. Considerable damage behind cabinets resulting in insurance claim. Purchased middle grade faucet just to stop leaks. Called Able and made appointment for next day. 2 hour window. Called me and told me they were available earlier but I was unable to leave work until the window time. Very understanding and said "No problem, we will meet you there then." Met them at the house. Installed new faucet and thoroughly checked all other plumbing components. Gave detailed write up to provide to insurance adjuster. Cleaned area up and headed out. Very professional and efficient.

Both plumbers were very professional and seemed will to try anything to keep us from spending $5,000.
