Chimney Masters

Chimney Master came by for a house I just bought. They cleaned the dryer vents, cleaned the chimney, and inspected the chimney for possible issues. They were very responsive, timely, professional and reasonable. While they were here, I found out that the previous owner had shut off my gas and so it was only a wood burning stove. I asked for an estimate for a gas insert, and they provided my estimates next business day. EXCELLENT service and I will be using them again when I re-convert my fireplace to gas.

Tech did a great job of communicating what he was doing and was very professional.

It was very good. I would use them again, although I won't count on any posted coupons since they didn't honor the one on the Angie's list site.

This company was great, they were available to come out the same week I called and were on time. The tech (Ray) was very friendly and professional. He left everything clean! I have nothing but a positive experience, I will use them again!

Technician called and said he would be a little late (stuck in traffic behind a big wreck). Arrived about 20 minutes before scheduled time. Was very professional and respectful. Told me everything he was going to do and why. Performed both tasks in about an hour. No repairs needed. Very clean! Great experience.

When I called the office and left a message my call was returned quickly. Sandy was friendly, polite and professional. She scheduled an appointment at a time convenient for me and when I needed to reschedule the time of day she was very gracious and accommodating. Sandy also explained the technician could do most required repairs on the day of the cleaning. On the scheduled day, the technician was prompt. He inspected and cleaned the chimney in a timely manner and left no mess. Much to my surprise he did not suggest any type of repair (as I had expected). I will definitely hire this company again where their services are needed.

We were having trouble with our dryer and called the dryer repair man who told us the problem was not with the dryer, but the vent. He suggested we call a chimney sweep. Knowing we would like to have the chimney swept before winter, we decided to do both. We went to Angie's List and found ChimneyMasters. They had good ratings and no problems, so we decided to try them. Kelvin Barsness came out (arrived right on time!!) to perform the services. He was outgoing, professional, and obviously knew his job. That did not stop him from listening to me when I told him the problem. He set up to do the fireplace first. He completely checked and cleaned the fireplace with little noise and NO mess! He then moved to the dryer. The dryer vent was blocked and was the source of the problem. He cleaned the vent, replaced the hose and ring and was finished in less than an hour. They gave a cash discount. Trusting people in my house is a serious matter for me. I felt safe and feel like my home is secure. I would recommend them highly! Later in the fall we will have them back to clean the gutters.

Showed up on time as scheduled . Very Proffesional and curtious. Protected the rugs , houshold and cleaned up very well. Very good price on a top notch service. Would highly recommend!

I made an appointment with Barsness Service Group, Inc. to clean and inspect my chimney. I informed them that I wanted an estimate for a new chimney cap because I had problems with birds in the chimney [flue]. The technician cleaned and inspected my chimney on 4/13/2012 and assured me that the birds could not get in. The technician was nice and professional but I did not get the estimate I requested. Five weeks later, my cat caught a bird in the living room by the fireplace. The next day, I caught another bird in the living room. I called Barsness Service Group, Inc. and I was told I would have to pay another trip charge of $25 for them to come out again to give me the estimate for a chimney cap. I was told that they could not give me a ball park estimate over the phone because there?s no telling how much a cap specifically fitted for my chimney might cost but it would be more than $200. The $25 trip charge would only be waived if I chose to have Barsness make my chimney cap. The owner called me after my review and left an angry message on my voice mail stating that my review was dishonest, among other things. Good customer service should be provided by all companies, not just large, male-owned businesses as is suggested in the owner's response. My rating is honest and accurate. I still get birds in my house from the Chimney, sometimes daily. 7/15/13

They were pretty good and were really fast. They were really informative and gave me a lot of advice about how to take care of my chimney; there was a crack in my chimney and he let me know about it and how to just deal with the crack in the fireplace, and how to put the firewood in properly so it doesn’t get messed up. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

It is a small woman-owned company. She was very professional and very fast. She didn't try to oversell me. They were efficient and in and out. We were able to use our fireplace for the first time, which was great. The price was for two fireplaces; it was very reasonable.

They were very good. They made sure the place was spotless when they finished the job. I already have them scheduled for work to be done once a year.

I called around to a few places but when I talked to Sandy I knew I'd found the right place. She made me feel like her folks were going to take care of me. They were going to thoroughly inspect and report back any findings. As scheduled her technician arrived on time. Performed the chimney sweep, found no defects and was on his way. I would recommend Chimney Masters to anyone.

Answered any questions we had. This was a 2 person job today. One went upstairs with the brush while the other cleaned the lower part. Look how the chimney is before and double check after as well in case you have any questions or concerns. Which Chimney Masters did well and to our satisfaction.

Ray arrived in the time frame given and went right to work setting up his equipment. He then climbed on the roof and cleaned the chimney from the top. Next he cleaned and inspected the chimney inside. He explained the condition of my fireplace and things to watch for in the future. He did a great job and was very neat. Chimney Masters was having a special of $99 for cleaning the chimney, which was a great price. We will use their services again and would recommend them to others.

He did an excellent job on both the chimney and the dryer vent. The chimney had been cleaned a couple of years ago by another firm, but I wasn't confident that a goiod job had been done. This person was very professional and I felt secure in his work. He was thorough and explained his findings. He was also very neat, which is hard to do when cleaning a chimney. The dryer vent hadn't been cleaned in 6 years and it was a dirty mess! He cleaned inside and out, and made sure the vent was working properly. I will use this company again.

It went excellent! The technician arrived promptly at the time I was given when making the appoinment. He was very friendly and courteous. He knew what he was doing and he did it well. He worked quickly, but efficiently and left our house in the same condition as when he arrived. The price was very reasonable and met our expectations for the services rendered. Overall our experience with Chimney Masters was excellent and we have already recommended them to other family members and friends! I highly recommend this company!

They were prompt, fast and kept the house clean of any soot. Perfect job!

Went great. We called and made an appointment. They showed up when they said they would and went right to work. They cleaned out the chimney thoroughly, identified a crack in the fire box and repaired it, then installed a new chimney cap on the the top of the chimney. We were thrilled with the work and were even more thrilled that it did not cost very much to get all of that work done.

Used this company before. Did excellent job. Went back for chimney cleaning. Even better. They spotted a cracked gas starter in fireplace. I knew about it, so did not use it. I had another unit. The technicians replaced it for me as part of the service. Amazing.
