It did not go well. The u-joint below the sink started to leak soon after the work was done, and water will not stay in the face bowl either. I had to place a bucket below the sink until I found a handyman to properly seal the piping.
Description of Work: They installed a new faucet and new water assembly in my bathroom sink.

Right after they came, they said everything was fine after they ran the checks. The very next day after they did the repair, there was a major carbon monoxide leak in our house. It was really bad and they didn't even return our calls after that. The fire department said it was because of the furnace and so they actually broke our entire furnace. Not only would they not refund us the money for the furnace but they wouldn't even return our calls. They almost killed us. We don't normally complain about businesses but they are the only one I can think off. I don't want anyone else to use them because they are really unprofessional and don't even return your call.
Description of Work: We used American Residential Services LLC in 2009 for a routine check up and tune up of the furnace.

Will Fix It was the only AC company I called that could actually come out on a Friday evening around 9 p.m. and fix my overflowing drain that was causing water to drip out of my ceiling! Tons of companies in the phone book advertise after-hours service, but it seems that most of them don't really do it, or at least not very promptly. Tiger Services did call me back w/in an hour, but when you've got water coming out of your ceiling, you want help ASAP. There is an extra charge for after-hours, but that's to be expected. I believe that if you sign up for their service contract, you don't have to pay the extra charge. I did eventually sign up for their service contract, and they came out and did the first maintenance. They were VERY thorough. I could not believe how long they stayed here compared with past service providers. They are very professional. The people who answer the phones are also really polite and helpful!
Description of Work: Came out after-hours to fix leak from AC unit in attic.

We’ve used them for a long time. We have a 2 or 3-year contract and they come twice a year to check the systems. Under the contract they also come if we have any problems. They always come when we call and they are very courteous. They do everything they are supposed to do. They are a good company. Our unit is 10 years old and it is doing fine. The workers are nice and polite. They seem to be quite knowledgeable although I don't know what they are talking about. They point out things and make recommendations.
Description of Work: We use ARS to do all of our heating and air conditioning stuff. They come twice a year, once to check the heater and once to check the air system. They make any repairs.

I made the original call the day before I left on my vacation and had to let my 21 year old son handle the return call when the repair did not work. The repairman obviously tried to take advantage of his youth by telling him the unit needed to be replaced. I called a different company when I returned from vacation and they handled the porblem professionally and reasonably.
Description of Work: The repairman replaced a starter kit on my A/C unit, which is only 6 years old, and when the room never cooled off, he returned and said the whole unit needed to be replaced. Called a different company who replaced the capacitor for about $100 total and it works just fine. Will Fix It will never get my business again!

I signed up for the service with a representative at Home Depot. Another representative came out a few days later and inspected the attic and took measurements for the job. He explained the difference between the different types of insulation and we discussed what else would be needed (baffles, vent covers). My house was built in 1973 and only had a minimum of the rolled pink stuff, a ridge vent (good) no baffles and the original insulation evidently had been put right over the bathroom vents. The workers showed up exactly when they said they would, covered up or moved any items that were in the attic and set to work. It took about 2 hours. They then had me inspect the work. The company sent me the CPS (utility company) rebate paperwork within a couple of days. I should be getting a rebate of app. $500 and also a tax credit. Of course I won't know how effective the insulation is until I get my next couple of electric bills, and since we're heading into summer any benefit will be evident very quickly.
Description of Work: EAS installed Baffles for the attic vents, lighting dams over the bathroom and kitchen vents and about 14 inches of blown fiberglass insulation over 2000 sq. ft.

On 05-18-11 Signed work order for new AC unit to be installed on 05-19-11. Set up time for 12:00. 05-19-11 Received called first thing in the morning requesting if there was a way to move up appointment because weather called for rain and they would like to start on the outstide unit. We agreed to 10:30. At 11:00 called the office because no one had shown up yet. Techs arrived at 12:00. They worked thru almost 9:00 pm. They said they could not get the unit to work and someone would be out the next day. We set up the time for 3:00. 05-20-11 "Joe" did not show up until 4 and left after 8 pm. We were told he got it running and the house should be cooling. 05-21-11 At 5:15 am called company because it was a horrible night of no sleep becasue it was hot. To my surprise and holding for a while someone came to the phone. Was told she would have someone out first thing in the morning Phillip the initial person that came to the house on 05-18-11 showed up and said he became aware of the problems we were having. He could not get it to work and said the unit need a part, but being that it was a Saturday, the place closed at 12:00. He did state he would have window units delivered soon since it was getting hot. I called after 3:00 regarding the status of the window units. Was told that the guy attempted to pick them up but since no one was at the office, they were waiting on someone to open up. Window units were not delivered until after 5:00 pm. Some of the explanations given have been the wiring was not done correctly, didn't know why Joe was sent out, he does not work on AC's. 05-23-11 I called Phillip to see what time someone would be out. He state he would call me back. Received a phone call from the company stating that I was first on the list. Phillip called after 9:00 and explained that someone would be out they had been in a meeting. At 11:00 still no one at the house . The tech arrived at 12:25 after inquiring about canceling the contract and contacting the local new channel.
Description of Work: Air conditioner went out and the company was to replace both the outside and inside unit.

I called 2 weeks ago on a Saturday to have someone come to my house and give me an estimate and tell me about their products and what I need to help make my home more energy efficient. I left a voicemail with my information to call me back since no one answered . Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday went by with no call back. I finally called them back. They apologized for not getting back to me and we set up a date for someone to come out that Saturday for my estimate. The guy eventually showed up 20 minutes late with no real reason for why he was late. He checked out the attic and broke down every item he wanted to sell me/or that I was interested in piece by piece. He talked about having a special where you purchase radiant barrier and get up to 20 inches free on blow in insulation. I found 2 different coupons that I told him about. One was on super coupons which was 1/2 of radiant barrier plus free insulation and the other was from Angies list which was just 1/2 off radiant barrier. He had no clue what I was talking about and said he had to verify that with his supervisor before he could accept the coupon. He took my phone and email information to contact me by Monday. Monday, Tuesday, and half of Wednesday passed and I hadn't heard from him. I finally decided to call the number on the card he left me to find out if he ever bothered to find out that information on the coupons. His assistant answered, took my message and assured me he would get back to me by the end of that day. He never called. The following day I decided to call the main number again. I was sick of having to hunt down the guy who said to call him if i needed anything or had any questions especially when he doesnt do what he says he will and doesnt return phone calls. The lady on the phone ( which I think is the call center) listened to my concerns as I vented and told her I wanted another sales person to help me out because I wasn't going to deal with the one I had anymore. She assured me someone would contact me as soon as possible that same day. And of course no one called me back. I called back again to find out if anything had been done about getting me another sales person. I eventually got a general manger out of Austin to speak to me only to tell me they couldn't honor their own coupons because it would cost them more for the parts and the labor in the end. Frankly, that wasn't my problem. They should have thought of that before they had their coupon on a legitimate site like Angie's List. In the end she discounted a few things but didnt honor the coupon which would have saved me a lot more money. So i set up a time to have them finally come and install on May 14. The entire time, i'm thinking they have just horrible customer service. They don't return phone calls, don't know about their own coupons or honor them, how the heck do they get such a high reviews on Angie's List? The reviews and the fact that a close friend had just used them and referred them to me was the only reason I was going through so much trouble with this company. I finally decided to call some other people for quotes like I should have done in the first place. I've chosen Rhino Energy. They talked to me about the prices which were about half of what Efficient Attic Systems was charging. They also explained the material they were using such as the ultra bloc radiant barrier which is one of the highest qualities. Where as EAS doesnt even allow theirs to be tested to see where it is ranked. Rhino Engergy talked to me about the real cost of baffles ( under a dollar) and since they cost so little he doesnt charge for them. But in my head i was thinking D***! EAS was going to charge me $70 for 14 of them. As I talked to Rhino Energy more and more I really felt like EAS was just trying to rip me off. They MIGHT do good work but I wouldnt know because getting anyone to get back to me was like pulling teeth but it looks like they over charge quite a bit. And as far as quality goes Rhino has many more reports back with a grade of A and they are also certified by CPS so I feel confident that between the 2 companies, Rhino is the honest, fair company. Plus as far as payments go, you can pay up front or you can put half down and have a 6 month in house finance plan with no interest based on what you can afford. They really make the effort to work with you. And when I called today to cancel my appointment with EAS because I had a better deal with another Rhino Energy, they told me that a San Antonio representative would be calling me back by the end of the day because they know they could beat the price the other company offered. I told them if they don't call me by the end of the day, they need to be sure to cancel my appointment. And as expected, I never got a call back. I have a feeling their workers are going to end up showing up my house because yet again, they're just all talk with no follow through. I guess we'll see in a couple of days. But i'm not calling them back anymore. They just need to get their s*** together.
Description of Work: No services performed. I cancelled with them and went with Rhino Energy instead.

Their service was fantastic. They were here for twenty minutes to clean out one drain. I talked to the manager of the plumbing department, a guy named Shane. He said they have a flat rate of $196 plus tax to clean out any drain. That covers them if they are there for twenty minutes or four hours. I told them that I didn't think that was right, but they didn't do anything about it. That's how much my aunt makes in a month on Social Security. They wouldn't back away from it. They said that all of the providers in the area are the same way, but I don't think so. He was really polite. They did a great job. They cleaned up after they were there. However, the pricing was horrible.

Horrible. I asked him to leave. I spent a morning at home for nothing.
Description of Work: An extremely rude plumber showed up and after repeated rudeness and bullying, I finally asked him to leave. I have never done that before! As he left, he said 'you people, I try to help you..." and he trailed off. I was alone -so apparently he has had this experience with other customers, hence the "you people" . I am too mad to write out the whole thing. I will not be bullied and talked to like I am an idiot in my own home. If you choose to use this company, I hope you don't get this guy!

They were trying to charge me twice for the same job. The leak was not fixed the first time, and the leak continued to happen in the same spot. We'll Fix It came back out and said it was a different leak. We had a second plumber come out and he told us that it was the same leak. He told us to have the company come back out to fix the problem. My insurance company had to pay for a second plumber to come out and fix the leak. This second company charged half of what they did. They had 10 holes in my walls where they were looking for the leak. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I was able to get a tax deduction with this new unit. Will Fit It put in an R6 instead of an R8 and they did not put a valve in so I did not qualify for a rebate with that. I also did not get a different deduction because the unit was too big for my house and it was not cost efficient. Will Fix It was great with the work. I did not think anything was wrong until the electric company came for the rebates and told me they were installed wrong. I tried to call Will Fix It once and I did not get a call back. I like the unit. It keeps the house real cool and real warm. They followed up and watched what was going on. They were there every day to make sure the install went well, even having to move a door to get the unit in. After the job was done I had a hard time getting a hold of them. They did impress me with their clean up. There were things they should have told me or checked into. They were a recommended provider for GVC. I would think they would have known the requirements for the rebate and have no idea why they put the wrong ducting in. I have memory issues and I could have forgotten something, which is why I did not press the issue, as it may have been my fault. I did think the price was too high.

They came out and fixed the leak, but we had issues with them fixing it. We had already dug it up - all they did was to come out and solder it. They filled the dirt back in for us. They charged $450. The guy said that it would have cost more if they had dug it up initially. My wife called him back and told him that it was leaking again. He dug it up, re-soldered it, put pressure on it, said that it was good and walked away. My wife had to ask them to redo it twice. It may have been just the competency of that particular technician, but it was irritating, since we were paying them a lot of money. We had hoped that they would fix it the first time and everything would be good. They were responsive and came out pretty quickly- within a couple of hours actually. Their professionalism was good - we never had any issues with that. My wife said that they were courteous and very nice. I considered using them at one point when I wanted work done on my air conditioning system, because they also do air conditioning work. There were some bad things about them on the Angie’s List website at that time, so I chose not to use them. I don’t like them, and I don’t trust them. It was not that they seemed dishonest. They were courteous - they were not bad or anything. They just seemed pricey, and they did not seem like they were as competent as I had hoped they would be. I would not use them in the future strictly for the fact that they were expensive. I think there are people out there that are probably more competent.

I was disappointed in the fact that the original repairmen did not detect the failed parts and still have concerns about the part that was worn out as evidenced by its "discoloration."
Description of Work: Two weeks ago, Will Fix It conducted a routine tune-up of our heating system. At that time, they assure us that everything was working fine. When the cold weather hit, we were unable to get the thermostat to raise above 68 degrees. I called for a return appointment and because it was after hours, I was told that it would cost $169 for them to come out at night. We shivered until the next morning. The repairman who came said that two parts were defective. When I asked if these parts should have been examined in the initial visit, he relucantly admitted they should have. Also, one of the parts he said was worn as seen by the discoloration. After he performed the work, I asked him in better light to show me where the discoloration was on the part and he was unable to show me. At that time, he just stated that it was worn out, but didn't offer any evidence.

They also go by the name ARS. The price included installing the dishwasher, replacing some other hose bed up front, and replacing some hoses in the toilet. If you get a quote from them, I suggest that you make sure what they write on the piece of paper covers everything. We are having a little bit of a dispute with their office. We knew we were going to have to replace our dish washer. We buy their maintenance system. When they came out for a normal service on our water heater, we asked them to give us a quote on having some additional work done. We based our decision on having them do the work on the quote. When they came out to do the work, they balked at fulfilling what they wrote on the bid sheet. It was a little bit disappointing. It's not just that. I would appreciate when a service technician comes to the house that all the tools are put back. They had to turn off the water to the house. We do have a key for the line that goes to the house. The work was done yesterday. This morning when I backed out the driveway to go to work, the key was sticking out of the yard. That should have been handled well. We could have lost it; the kids could have taken it and done all sorts of damage. Those things are pretty heavy. There was some issue on what they put on the bid sheet about all that was included. They came in pretty much right away. They were arguing with my husband. We signed a maintenance agreement with them prior to this work and I have used them for the past 2 years so we probably would hire them again in the future.

The person arrived on time (on a Saturday -yay!) and explained what he was going to do. The first thing he did that I liked, was that he told me it would be a waste of money to put radiant barrier in my garage -- that I only needed insulation. Then he climbed up and looked around, and then asked me to climb up too. He showed me the attic area (which I didn't know existed, since the house is mostly cathedral ceilings) and showed the small area where radiant barrier and more insulation would be helpful. We then scheduled a time for the work to happen. The people arrived on time and did the work at the agreed price. I couldn't be happier with the result! I STRONGLY recommend these people.

The company advertised free insulation with the purchase of radiant barrier and they still were much higher than the two competitors that gave us estimates. Hmmm? Even though I went with the competition this time, I would call EAS for an estimate again if I needed any more insulation work. I really liked Ryan and maybe the company will have a change in their pricing policy.
Description of Work: Ryan came over to give us an estimate. He was very thorough and explained everything. However his estimate was higher than the company we decided to use.

We ended up calling another company. There was a broken water pipe under our home They never had to go on our roof although this other company did carry insurance coverage in the event they did have to go on the roof. Will Fix It is still sending me bills for service as if they had given me any "service!
Description of Work: We told the plumber that there was a blockage because if you flush the toilet the toilet water would spill over onto the bathroom floor and that the bath tub would not drain the water out if filled. The first thing the plumber did was fill the toilet with water, flushed it and flooded the floor which then dripped through the kitchen ceiling making the problem even worse. He then procedded to ask me to pay him the $60.00 service fee and to sign off the work order showing he had come to my home. He said we would need to call another plumber who could reach the blockage from the roof of our 2 story home as his company was not insured to go on our roof.
