Description of Work: Nine months ago I had another business re-key my locks and install a new door knob set on the back door. Just recently, the door knob broke, such that when I turned the knob, the tongue wouldn't retract from the frame and I couldn't open the door without prying it open with a kitchen knife. I called the previous business and they made clear they were not interested in standing by their work. I saw Whitley's in my recent Angies' book and called them. I spoke with "Gene" who was extremely professional and helpful. He gave me a time when he would be at my place, but when he told me he was currently working on a job in Converse I didn't believe him because I live by the Dominion. I was impressed when he showed up exactly when he said he would. I was more impressed that he re-keyed my new lock, installed it, and was finished in less than 30 minutes. Finally, I was very satisfied that the estimate he gave me over the phone was right on when he finished. Bottom line is, I needed help immediately, and the previous business was not willing to stand by their work. Gene and Whitely's did a great job, fast, for a fair price. Thanks, Phil McKinney

Description of Work: Had Whitey's rekey 5 locks for my rental property. I dropped them off. They were ready the next day. These guys are good, fast and efficient.

Description of Work: I RECEIVED A BID FROM THEM ON 11/15/12. I ACCEPTED AND THEY ORDERED THE PARTS THEY WOULD NEED. THEY CAME OUT ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER BUT THEN REALIZED THAT MY 88 YEAR OLD HOUSE NEEDED A SPECIAL PART MADE. IT HAS NOW BEEN 42 DAYS, BUT I AM SURE THEY WILL DO A GOOD JOB WHEN THEY GET THE PARTS. MOST IRRITATING ARE THE DAILY REMINDERS THAT I GET FROM ANGIE'S LIST ASKING FOR AN EVALUATION. IF I CONTINUE TO GET THEM I MAY WELL UNSUBSCRIBE FROM ANGIE'S LIST AND FORGET IT EXISTS. JUST COOL IT! Description of Work: Our car was broken into on 11/12/12 in San Antonio. Cell phones and my wife's purse were stolen. Included in the purse were house keys and a checkbook with our home address on the checks. At 8:30 am, 11/13/12, I checked Angie's List for an area locksmith, called Whitley's Lock & Safe to find out about replacing the four house locks. They told me the locks did not need to be replaced but the tumblers in the locks could be reconfigured. They told me they could be here by 10:30 am. They arrived at 10:20 am, removed the tumblers and reset them in their truck and made 12 new keys and were gone by 11:20 am. They were polite, professional, prompt, efficient and very knowledgeable. They even gave me a $10.00 discount for mentioning that I found them on Angie's List. I will always use them for any needed lock work. Thank you.

Description of Work: Need to have front door dead bolt re-keyed. Was able to schedule same day service, they arrived on time, very courteous and professional. Would definitely use this company again.

Description of Work: Install a new deadbolt, tried to repair 2 doors that the handles fell off. The building contractor didn't use the correct hardware (that came with the handles!). Whitley's couldn't fix it on the spot, but did give me the right information to get the hardware from the place I bought the handles so that they could be repaired correctly.
