USAA Bank

I've had geico for the past 5 years and this year they were going to charge me an EXTRA $300 every 6 months from a ticket I received 2 1/2 years ago for going 50 mph in a 45mph. So I called usaa and got a quote from them and it was even cheaper than my other insurance with a lot more added benefits.

The experience was very good. We like them a lot. They are reliable and very customer service oriented. They have a good reputation. They are very good. We use them for our bank because they are for federal and military employees so they have a very good reputation. They are kind of expensive for life insurance.

We already use USAA for our auto/home insurance and have always been very satisfied. We have had to file a claim with both and bothe times it was handled very professionally. All the employees I have ever talked to have been super polite and helpful. We were needing help with getting out of credit card debt and they helped us get a plan together that will be paid off in 4 years. Brought 9 bills down to 2 and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. There is no telling how long we would have taken if ever to pay off all those bills. Thanks ever so much USAA

I use USAA for my banking and insurance. My credit is fair and I have been approved for an American Express card with the company and even given a credit increase when I requested one, while my other bank "Wells Fargo" denied me for a similar increase. Phone support is excellent and seems to be all U.S. based which I know means a lot to people. I highly recommend leaving the bigger banks and moving to USAA, my experience has been fantastic.

USAA Bank are very prompt and they answer your questions. They get back to you. Their website is easy to use.

It is a little higher on credit card rates but not as high as some of the other banks; I pay about 14.5%. Every time they send me a bill, they also include a pre-printed check on that account that I can use for cash advance or paying at an outlet, so it is handy. It started out as being open to military people only and they are expanding that to people that has a family member in the military. The auto insurance and the homeowner insurance rates are the lowest of any other banks out there. They even say out loud that one can’t beat them in that. I have $250,000 worth of coverage and so it is $600 a year, which is pretty good. Unfortunately, I took a $2000 deductible so it will have to come out of my pocket, but that is okay. I am absolutely happy with all the services we have used so far. They are extremely helpful on the phone and they immediately get me to where I need to be for someone to help me.

With my 42 years experience dealing with USAA, they are polite, very professional, knowledgeable, and driven. Their customer-focus is without peer. And, by the way, they also happen to be the most cost effective folks out there!

USAA has the most phenomenal customer service out there! I have been a member with USAA since 1997 and have banking, insurance and investments with them. My first home was purchased in 2006 and my mortgage was thru USAA and I had used USAA Home Movers Advantage. Phenomenal experience as always! I was really impressed when a few years ago USAA called me to let me know one of the accounts I had set up and was investing in monthly wasn't making any money. At the time I opened the account it was an emergency/savings but I really appreciate USAA calling to let me know I would do better to think about investing in a different account and they wanted to let me know that USAA Members have FREE Financial advice whenever they need it. The advisor who called me was not pushy in any way and was not making a commission. He helped me look into a few options and even called me back a few days later to discuss things again. Whether banking, investing or insurance needs USAA has my back!

Not well at all, they would not even consider me. I have owmer homes in Florida for over 40 years and never filed a claim for a hurricane loss, yet USAA will not insure my home.

They are totally committed to service with the customer. They make everything easy to use. The website and phone system are easy to use. If you need to do stuff by mail it is easy. If you need a car loan you can get it almost immediately. They are military based for military and ex-military people. They are a class act.

The claims representative was prompt and professional. I considered the replacement cost estimate as fair and the check was dispursed in a timely fashion to replace the section of the fence.

This is a great bank!! They are professional. and courteous. I really appreciate their excellence as well. I have my home mortage, checking, savings, and car loans thru them. What a great bank!!

I have been with USAA for 56 years, and they seldom miss the mark on providing good service.

When we were in a car accident USAA handled every aspect promptly, and then fought the other party (city of Chicago) and won.

After seeing all the great reviews I thought I would call for a quote. Turns out your have to be a member of the military for them to provide insurance quotes. I have a lot a respect for the individuals who protect our country - and happy that USAA is there to help service them. For the rest of us - this is a military members only company.

USAA is a great place to bank. They don't charge fees for stuff that the "big banks" nickel and dime you to death for. ATMs are free everywhere. They refund the fees that out of network ATMs charge. If you overdraft onto your savings account--no charge. Of course, you should not get charged for using your own money anyway (novel idea) but B of A charges $5-$10 to transfer money from savings to checking for the same misstep. I can also call USAA and get someone in America to talk with me about my account--that's refreshing. We have everything direct deposit but if you need to put a check in, stop by a UPS store and they can scan the check and it's instantly in my account or mail the check in. I hardly ever have an issue with this because I rarely need to negotiate a check these days. Now, I have read some horror stories about their mortgage division. I wouldn't go near it. Don't even try it!! But, the banking is sweet.

They contacted me about unusal charge and we determined it wasn't correct. The card was shut down and the charge was removed. They sent new cards within a week.

I have always had an excellent experience with them.

We have been members of USAA for many years. They have great auto rates. Customer service is fabulous and their website is really easy to access and understand. We deal with them regularly. We would continue using them in the future.

Excellent. No problems whatsoever - in over 5 years of working with USAA

I've been a USAA member for 31 years. This is by far the worst service I've ever had from them. In February 2012, I started a mortgage loan refinance process with USAA. Before starting the process, I called them 3 separate times to explain the unconventional approach I was interested in taking with the loan to confirm it would save us money in the end. Although we had only 6.5 years remaining on our current loan, interest rates on new loans were so low that we planned to take out a 15-year loan, roll all closing costs into the loan, pay extra principal each month to make monthly payments on the new loan the same amount they were with our current loan, and asked if this would allow us to save money compared to our current loan. Each time I called them, they assured me I would save between $4000 and $6500 in interest over the life of the new loan. They did not mention how many months I would be making payments with the new loan; this aspect did not dawn on me until shortly before closing. In March 2012, after numerous EMails to and from my USAA loan processor, I finally saw an amortization schedule that showed the new loan requiring mortgage payments for 10 months longer than our current loan. These extra 10 months would have negated the $4000 - $6500 interest savings the new loan had and would make us pay about $7000 more over the life of the new loan compared to the current loan. After realizing this, I contacted USAA and had them withdraw the loan. This whole process disappointed and frustrated me because I was relying on USAA's loan experts to point out this kind of information early in the process, not leave it to me to stumble upon it shortly before closing. I wrote and spoke with a mortgage department manager about this whole experience. Although he was polite, he spoke as if his department did all they could and provided me with all the information they could have. I disagreed, telling him I would have expected the loan reps to recognize and point out to me early in the process that the lifetime cost of the new loan was more than my current loan. I've had credit cards, CDs, a home equity line of credit, auto insurance, and homeowner's insurance with USAA for most of the 31 years I've been a member. I've been satisfied with those products and services. However, their mortgage loan department is abysmal. I would not recommend it to anyone.

USAA Bank is closer to the military. They are just good overall. I like everything. I will continue banking with them in the future.

They have been fantastic. I like that when I call them on the phone I get a real person and they treat me with respect and dignity. They are able to answer my questions. My whole life is wrapped up with USAA because I have never had a problem with them.
