USAA Bank

They are very good. I've been with them for forty years. If you need something they are always there and on the job. They always handle the claims thoroughly and professionally.

My overall experience with them is great. I would continue to use this company.

I feel the cost is reasonable. We have a multi-car and multi-policy discount. We also bank with them. Every person I've ever spoke with at USSA has been extremely thorough in aswering my questions. They are vigilant about protecting my privacy and my identity. There is not a single time that I have called where they have not called me by my military retired rank. They are very respectful and pleasant. I cannot say enough about them. They are wonderful.

I had a lot of camera equipment stolen during a move. They way they handled it was just wonderful. I gave them as much of purchase as I could. I sent them what I had and they accepted it. They looked up current prices for the same equipment and then they gave me a choice. They said, we will send you a check for the items you lost present price minus depreciation. They also said if you want to replace it with new stuff we will reimburse you all the way. I thought that was very, very generous. There was no haggling, nothing. I was very, very impressed with them.

USAA Bank does everything; insurance, banking, etc. They have branches all over the place and a lot of the military use them. I deal with them mainly on the phone. They are military friendly and are available all over the world. They even do insurance for while you are in foreign countries. They do foreign country rental insurance. They are pretty reliable.

I've been with them for about forty years. In the past five years I have noticed a deterioration in their service. I notice that it is hard to get in touch with people and that their agents are not particularly knowledgeable or well trained with their business. They have also become very compartmentalized so quite frequently when I call with a problem I get shifted to three or four different people before I get to someone who can answer my question. I've also found that they have some features that are really cumbersome and make it difficult to get information. I pay monthly and have auto, homeowners and personal insurance. They send one statement a month and have everything broke down. My auto insurance is about $600 a $700 a year which I think is fair. They are a member company so we do get a rebate each year which brings down the cost.

They send me a bill every six months, they answer questions immediately on the phone with a live person and to date, they have resolved every issue over the phone immediately. Their rates are always lower than everybody else on the market and they also refund money that is due on their own. I found them very responsible and punctual for they always notify you about your bills and keep you updated.

The overall experience was good. I will continue to use this service.

They are very expensive. I don’t know what other people charge. I use them because I have had them for a long time. It's a big deal to go shop around; I have to change my home owner's, my umbrella policy and everything else. It’s a lot of work; I haven’t done it yet.

I never had to file for a claim. I just started insurance with them shortly before I left because it was cheaper to get my auto and renter insurance together with them than the company I had before, although the auto insurance by itself was more expensive. They were easy to get a hold of and real people talk to you. I never had any problems with them at all.

I've been very, very happy with USAA. They're not a sales commission. They do not charge a sales commission stock rate.

It was way beyond what I expected. I wasn’t expecting them to actually help me being a civilian. I’m very impressed with the service.

It is a company for military families. Everybody has an issue with them just because of their target population but it is pretty much an outstanding service. Their whole customer service, their price, and their group of offerings make them outstanding.

It's not open to the general public but it's a hand-me-down company for Marines and groups like that . It's a nationwide company. They are a good company. Their rates are the lowest than other companies. Their customer service is wonderful. They have lots of other packages too, like we have credit card line and stuff like that. I don't know if it's open to the general public. I think that it's just passed down from people who have been in the military.

A pipe broke under my kitchen sink and flooded my ground floor for many hours when I was not home. Because I owned a condo, structural issues were covered by the homeowners association policy, held by another insurance company: let us call it "Ranchers." My personal belongings were protected by USAA. When I came home and discovered the flood (and after I had gotten the water turned off), I called both insurance companies. Ranchers had a local office, but no after-hours options; I had to leave a phone message. (They never called back the next day; I had to call them a second time, during business hours.) USAA, on the other hand, had an agent ready and able to speak with me at 7 pm PST (even though it was 9 pm in Texas, where they're based). The agent was kind, patient, and comforting; she began by asking, "Are YOU all right?" -- I think she could hear tension in my voice, and wanted to make sure that the "human" in the scenario was cared for first. Just hearing the sympathy in her voice relaxed me enormously, and I felt much better immediately. She took the details of my situation, and then asked, "Do you know what to do next?" She looked up phone numbers for local 24-hour plumbers, and gave me recommendations for a disaster clean-up firm -- and she urged me to get some rest. I got off the phone, feeling calm and confident that the problem was within my ability to handle -- NOT the way I had felt when I first called. (When I did talk with the Ranchers agent, he didn't give two hoots about the problem; he just wanted the claim data, and it was clear he wanted to get off the phone as soon as possible.) In the weeks that followed, USAA was efficient and thorough in covering my losses, and even prompted me to include some victims of the disaster that I hadn't initially thought to include. I wish I hadn't suffered the damage -- but USAA did everything that a company could do to help put it right again. For years, because of USAA's wonderful treatment (especially in comparison to my treatment from the other company), I have sung their praises. I will always go to them for insurance, because they proved to me that service is a vitally important ingredient -- it's not just a matter of "lowest price is best." Thanks, USAA!

We love them. They are always available. Anytime we've needed them, they have always been there to help us out. They have been pretty quick in responding to any problems that we've had. I think they charge $50 a month extra for roadside assistance but I don't know about that because my wife paid the bill. Their prices are competitive; we looked around.

They are extremely helpful, rates the best anywhere. They used to offer even more services by way of helping you select wider coverage but that was removed recently but they were good. They used to be only available to notary offices and their families but now they are opening it up to other people. Go to USSA to see if you could get an insurance with them for your house and car before you look to anybody else who does a lot of advertising. The rates are just a tip of the iceberg because the service is excellent and I’ve seen some other insurance companies and their services are good too but this people been with them for I guess 45 years now and we never had a problem or any kind.

They have been great to work with thus far. I actually had an incident not too long ago where I accidently locked my keys in my car and they were able to send someone within 20 minutes to unlock my doors at no additional fees as the service was covered within my coverage package. Overall, they are a wonderful company to work with.

The quality of customer service provided by USAA has changed dramatically (seemingly ever since the company expanded membership to a much larger segment of the military). Perhaps they just can't keep up with the larger number of customers, but it has left many dissatisfied, including myself and many of my friends. While the credit card program is still quite functional, it lacks a "reward" system offered by many other cards. My most recent (pre-approved) mortgage took months of tedious paperwork. I made numerous phone calls an left many messages which went unresponded. On the day of settlement, we were still unsure if the mortgage would be finalized. The entire process was a nightmare. I chose USAA for my mortgage because I wanted the kind of service I had years ago with my mortgage & refinance. Using their on-line system to view all my banking, credit, insurance & investments was quick & easy. HOWEVER, after the horrible process of approval was complete, USAA turned my mortgage over to another bank! If you are military seas, you need USAA. Stateside - I'm looking for other options.

I've had USAA for years. I generally like their company. They're not a publicly traded company and when they have a profit they send it out back to the members in form of dividenship. I like USAA, I haven't had any issues with them. They're not open for everybody though, they're only open to members of the military and their families. They were less expensive than the other companies. Their loyalty is to the people who use them and not the shareholders. You can always reach somebody, they are always really nice and I never really had any issues.

I have been using USAA Insurance for my car insurance for 53 years. I like everything about them. They are very selective in who they insure. You have to have been an officer in the armed forces or associated with one to get insurance from them. I will use this company forever.

They are excellent. There are military and service related people although they do take other people. Everything with them is basically online although they have toll free numbers you can call for anything, I mean, they do banking, investment, not just auto insurance. They are a full service kind of company and I do everything with them. So whenever you have a claim or anything you call them on a toll free number and then you just talk to a representative and like with the claim they can tell you who to call in the area, but I know in the case of my car damage there was a particular dealership I wanted to repair my damage and I just told them who I wanted to deal with and they said they were on the approved list, I like it, went there, the dealership send me the claim you know with my police I get a rental car, they worked and repaired the car and it's basically like you never even had an accident. I would continue to use them.

If you qualify to use this company do it!!! They are the best. Quick, effortless and professional service and very competitive in their pricing. I have been with this company for over 20 years and they never cease to amaze me. Just bought a new home and all went so smoothly, everyone I talked to on the phone were great. Also have a credit card with them and they have a very attractive interest rate as well as many perks.

If you are a member, always check with USAA rates and services first as a yardstick for evaluating other offers.

I would nominate them for the Page of Happiness. They have excellent customer service. They are very prompt. It is the best insurance experience I've ever had.
