Description of Work: My experience with USAA Bank to acquire a mortgage loan for my retirement home in Arizona was with an inept and inexperienced Account Representative that was unable to communicate with my investment broker concerning "the source of my down payment." I consequently missed our targeted closing date and decided to abandon USAA . Using a local mortgage company recommended by my realtor I closed with a successful 30-day turn-around from start to finish.

Description of Work: I signed up with USAA when I was in the USAF. I've been with them about 15 yrs. There simply is no better company in this country, in my opinion, that provides better customer service. They are one of the greatest benefits I have from serving.

Description of Work: I was in a car accident in late August, 2014, with USAA as my insurance company. The other driver was held responsible for the accident. But my car was totaled, and I had to get a rental, go through all the things necessary for resuming my regular life after the accident. USAA was wonderful! They kept me informed about the status of payments the other insurance company had to make, had my poor car towed to a body shop, talked to me when I was upset, and made my life easier through the entire ordeal.

We have had several claims in that time and always have had excellent service. No one wants the situation where a claim is necessary, but USAA always has treated us well.

Description of Work: I have checking and savings accounts with USAA, and I earn interest on both. I pay absolutely nothing at all whatsoever to USAA, and I get free checks. They have only the one branch, about 600 miles from me, but they have no ATM fees and they reimburse foreign machine ATM fees up to a certain amount (6 transactions? $12? I can't remember) each month. I've only had to call them one time, and they were helpful. I've been using USAA for something like three years, and I couldn't be happier.

Description of Work: A company asked to give my roof a free inspection. I was told I needed a |new roof because of hail damage which amazed me as the roof was only 6 years old. I called Usaa and asked them to send out an inspector which they did. He came the next day and found no damage BUT the inspector told me my patio cover had a lot of damage. I don't know when the patio cover was put on the house-but I have owned it for 20 years. I got a different company to come out and give me an estimate. They installed a new patio cover for $200 dollars more then what Usaa sent me. |I have been a member of Usaa for over 50 years and I would NEVER consider |another insurance company. They are honest, timely and the money is there within less than a week. |Unfortunately, for some, Usaa is for military and their dependents only.
