USAA Bank

We have been customers of USAA for 27 years. There have been several incidents over the past 15 years that have been exponentially questionable. Today it is clear that they have so many customers they really do not have to care. So they don't.

I have been a member for 30 years and have almost always been satisfied. If they can offer a service, I don't bother going anywhere else.

It was amazingly good. They revamped their whole process and it was fast and excellent. The guy who I worked with was wonderful. Expect great service and quick responses. Nobody can beat their prices.

USAA is easy to work with. I have had no trouble getting quotes, making changes to my coverage, and my claim was handled and paid promptly and professionally.

Very professional and courteous. Never rushed and explained everything in detail via a phone call I initiated. I read their reviews online and they were outstanding and I concur. I strongly recommend them for all insurance needs.

Good. They were very helpful and answered questions quickly.

We had a leak in rear shower that was allowing water to slip into subflooring and joists. Various repair men had said nothing under there. Astro termite company inspections each year said 'normal', 'no problem'. The appraiser said the problem had to be more than a year old. From the start USAA was professional getting documentation. Many companies pay little on and 'old' problem. I have not been able to crawl or get under the house because of orthopedic problems for years. We trusted Astro. to do their job. We had evidence that in the past, anything needing repair or upgrade in the structure we addressed even if we needed loans. USAA realized that we had trusted the paid professional who had either lied or not really crawled under the entire structure. So, their clause 'unwitnessed and unknown' was fulfilled and they are helping us with costs. We have had to move out for 3 months to gut the home and they have given us a per diem. They have paid for the POD in our front yard. Our total damages will be around 80,000 to repair and then replace as it was. USAA has committed to a third of that so far pending final details. My suggestion to home owners. TODAY take pictures of everything and under the foundation. Keep detailed notes of any upgrades or repairs you make for tax and insurance purposes. keep copies of any official inspections by anyone of your attic, basement, walls. Get an official printout and opinion of your Flood Plain status online. One challenge: The contractors are doing very good work, the city is keeping them up to code, but they are horrible about keeping a clear separation of their receipts for us and other work. We might have been able to close our with USAA on the total damages a month faster........that is not USAA's fault. Be prepared for lots of days where no work happen

I used them because I felt a little bit more comfortable since I have been a service man. I felt as though it would be a good location to get a good cost of what I was looking for. My interaction with the agents was very good. I have not followed through with it yet.

I got the APR I wanted, and an intro. of 0%. Everything in this transaction was accomplished to a satisfaction.

That was very bad. It's interesting because the USAA people by enlarge are always so cheerful and they literally it was over a loan and my son's wedding and they told me in the morning that we were going to have someone come and sign for the loan and then I got a call in the afternoon saying that they were canceling it for some reason that they had said was alright. They basically waited to the last possible millisecond and then told me that everything was fine and then that evening it wasn't fine. I have no idea what happened. My other dealings with them have always been very good. I have no idea what really happened. I'm sure there was something but I was mislead all the way through. I was not happy with USAA on that particular thing. It was really weird. The woman I was talking to we discussed what she ended up calling out as the problem, we already discussed and it was all taken care of and then all of a sudden all I could get information wise was form letters. Nobody would really talk to me about what happened. That was not a good thing.

Responsive on claims. They basically hold your hand and it never ceases to impress me how wonderful their customer service reps are.... Polite, knowledgable, and always happy to assist, even if it means transferring. I never feel "bounced around" looking for someone to answer a question.... The checks for being a "stockholder" each year are a great bonus too! Love them and plan to have them for life!!

I started with auto insurance with USAA and had it with my and my daughters' car. The engine in my car blew 8 months later and so we continued to pay a really good price for insurance after I dropped my car off the policy. They are great, I have my home insurance and mortgage through them as well as they are my normal bank.

It took a little long since there were so many roofs that had damage, but I got a reputable roofer and they did not balk at reimbursing me.

I have been with USAA for 40 years in my car insurance, mutual funds, banking, life insurance and they have always been exceptional. I would not recommend USAA in the real estate agent market. My agent was both incompetent and less then ethical (which quite frankly could have been because she was incompetent). She never found us homes to look at and she attempted to persuade us to close on a home that had a leaky roof. We did not close on the home and dumped our realtor.

Great professional company that is for military families. There rates are great---no other company can come close. They also have a auto buying service that we have used to negotiate a good price on a new car.

Just wonderfully - they are the nicest, most helpful people to deal with.

They are a great bank that is especially military friendly. They are especially fast at handling insurance claims. I highly recommend them.

I called and was quickly assigned an agent. The agent listened to what I said I wanted and promptly sent me a list of homes that in no way matched anything I asked for. I found a home on my own and sent him the details asking to see it. A day later he sent me the same home listing back (as if he had found it) and asked if I wanted to see it. We made an appointment to see it the next day. He needed to confirm with the Seller, but we were also to see other homes in the area starting at 3:30 pm. I got to the neighborhood around 3pm because I had been out running errands and I wanted to see the area. He called just about that time to cancel and reschedule for the next day. The next day we saw three houses; two I had asked about and one home he found that didn't match my needs at all in a nearby neighborhood. The first was under contract by the time we finally saw it. The other two weren't good. At the end, he shook my hand and said I should call him if I find other houses! I called USAA and told them he wasn't working out. They said they would contact him and try to "reconcile" us and if not assign me someone else. I said I did not need to offend the man, that he would not call me and I wouldn't call him and that would be it. The agent insisted and I said that they should not do it and that I would simply not work through USAA. Ignoring me, they apparently contacted him and another agent from his office contacted me. I decided to give her a chance. More pleasant person, but largely a repeat of the first experience. She said the right things, seemed to know what a good agent should do, but then didn't do any of it. I cancelled with her directly instead of involving USAA again. While waiting for some action from agent #2, I went to a number of open houses and met some other agents. One told me he would never work with USAA because they take most of the commission. If so, it is no wonder only inexperienced or inept agents will take the referrals. Given how much money a good agent can save you, by helping you negotiate a good price, showing you superior properties, helping write a strong contract and getting the Seller to do repairs, working with a poor agent to get $1000 is a false economy.

I did an online form to get an insurance quote. It was confusing and the rate seemed higher than it should be. I'm going to call and talk with a live person next to see if the quote was accurate or if I left out some viable information that discounts it more. I would not recommend using their online service if you need a quote.

We have never had any issue getting a hold of the company, filing a claim or with billing. Every time I call a polite and professional HUMAN takes my phone call and answers my questions.

Professional in helping with the bank and getting our insurance. The job on fixing my husbands truck after his wreck was awesome...Only thing I was disappointed with was some who my rental coverage was gone so we had to rent a vehicle and we also had to leave it and we had to pay to go recover the vehilce in a different state over which was 6 hours away...but otherwise they were helpful and professional....we also bank with them as well and very professional and helpful...they help you things you haven't thought of with every thing you are needing..

USAA has great information and tools on their website for calculating premiums and customizing insurance options. When we have needed to make an auto claim, everything was handled smoothly and in a timely manner. Reaching USAA by phone is also a pleasant experience with generally low wait times.
